Carphone Warehouse lists BlackBerry Curve 8900, coming in time for holidays

Carphone Warehouse, the giant UK retailer for all major UK carriers minus Vodafone, has listed the BlackBerry 8900 Curve on its website and has announced that it is slated to arrive in December for the holidays. While nothing has been revealed in terms of which carriers the phone will be available from, so far T-Mobile is the only carrier who has announced that it will be carrying the new Curve. It is more than likely that Orange will be offering the device as it supports the UMA feature of the device. That said, Carphone Warehouse has apparently confirmed that it will also be selling the device SIM free — good news all around for anyone who will be in the market for a BlackBerry with an amazing 480 x 360 screen, WiFi, GPS and a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus. For those of you looking for 3G however, not so much.

The writing, spelling, grammar, and copy editing on BGR is a total joke. you know that. you read b/c they get “scoops” on stuff first, even if they’ve been more wrong than right over the past 6 months. But c’mon, spelling a company’s name right? ROFLCOPTERZ!

Nice phone if it had 3G- BB is weird like that. Some yes, some no. Rarely seem to have all the features, even Storm missing wi-fi etc.

We do like BGR, but that doesn’t diminish the need for proof-reading. Espically on a site like BGR.
Does T-Mobile Germany sell phone w/out a contract?

@ Brad – storm is missing wifi because verizon doesnt want it

#2 – the 8900 cannot have 3g otherwise it would cannobolize bold sales…its really not that hard to figure that out.

I’m looking forward to this release. I took back my Bold after less than a week because
    1) 399 before a rebate is crazy esp. when we now see that the Storm is going for $250/$200 @ Best Buy.
    2) I didn’t get 3G at home and work. The two places I use my phone most often. So for me this is the best bet.

    BB214 says:

AT&T is still pushing for December, they are indeed boxed and ready to ship, last minute techincal applications are being discussed. this will be pushed out a lot faster than the bold since it does not have to deal with all the 3g complications of the former. As of now, its up to AT&T when they want to release the device. Rim has given the go ahead for December. Tmobile fans will have to wait till AFTER At&t. Ive still yet to see a single phone destined for tmobile US.

Touchscreen Touchsreen! Touchscreen!!! hello RIM people??? Anyone home…lol Why can’t i get what i want? I don’t understand. My girlfriend doesn’t seem to know how to make my favorite meal the right way no matter how many time i show her, Apple can’t seem to put out touchscreen macbooks no matter how many times i yell at the sales people, and rim can’t put out a touchscreen device with a physical qwerty keyboard…i don’t know, am i asking for too much? What is the point of this device? It’s the same as the old curve with a few upgrades but no major differences from what i read. I hope they’re not turning into LG or Samsung who keep putting out phones every second week and only every 6th one is worth while to write home about. Till now RIM has been WOWing us with every release but this one…this is the first sign of RIM milking their popularity for what it’s worth. Im not a fan of than.

    @ NOThtckid:
    Damn straight homey.

Um, ok, so there was a typo, get a grip people!!! I have been coming to this site for a year now. BGR is more accurate than not> last year they called the releases date of the Curve exactly! I was very happy. My wife works for TMO, and i was telling her when they were getting it. So BGR, keep doing your thing! Like none of us here ever made a mistake. Be thankful we get all this pre-release news!
