LG Incite now available from AT&T
Sweet – it looks like our leaked AT&T Holiday lineup was spot on, with every phone on the list now available from AT&T. The last phone on the list to make its debut, the LG Incite, went live on AT&T’s website early this morning. The Incite, if you remember, is the LG’s first North American offering to feature Windows Mobile. No proprietary LG OS for the Incite, this handset is rocking Windows Mobile Professional 6.1. The Incite has a 3″ WQVGA touchscreen, 256 MB ROM/128 MB RAM and a 3MP camera, making it solid mid-range Windows Mobile phone. Unlike the Fuze, the Incite does not have a physical keyboard and relies on an on-screen QWERTY keyboard for input. Connectivity options abound as the Incite is a quad-band GSM phone with tri-band 3G, Wi-Fi, bluetooth 2.0 EDR and OTA firmware updates. The Incite also packs a bunch of multimedia features including AT&T Mobile Music, XM Radio and Pandora Music streaming. Awesome! The Incite retails for $199 after a $100 MIR and with a 2-year contract. A non-contract purchase will set you back a respectable $500.
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

ugh.. gonna hate selling this in my store.
Wish they’d state the processor speed.
I may have to get to a store to see if this thing’s as ugly in person as it is on the web.
Oh snap, it has wifi, that means its better than the storm
This is NOT a Storm competitor!!! Why must every single phone released nowadays be compared to the iPhone and the Storm. The iPhone and Storm are competing with each other. The Incite is actually a better match for VZW’s Omnia and Sprint’s Touch Diamond.
AT&T couldn’t bring the Omnia to us, but instead they bring this ugly piece of crap???? WTH?
Here’s to wishing…
the Fuza had been the Xperia
the Incite had been the Omnia
this is actualy offered for free w/ 2 year plan at walmart.com (HA!)
is there really any phone out there that can compete with the iphone ? seriously now…..
I understand where you’re coming from with the your complaints about the Incite, but what’s wrong with the Fuze. The specs between the Fuze and the Xperia are almost identical (except of course for the screen size), but the Fuze has a better keyboard and a better interface. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think the Fuze and Xperia would have been great choice either way. Again, I do agree that the Omnia would have been the better choice.
@ Esquire
I was being sarcastic.
LOL…The vanity shown here is great to read, Interesting how so many seem to be conserned with whether a phone is “Pretty” or not rather that being functional, I dont care wether or not people think my phone is ugly, As long as it does what I want it to when I want it to.
it’s a personal safety thing. there are 293 confirmed regions in the US that you will get beat up in for not having a “Pretty” phone.
It was on Dateline last tuesday.
If you didn’t see it your stupid .
*punch to the face*
@Esquire
This is off topic, but I like the Xperia over the Fuze for its bigger screen, better resolution, and better aluminum design (vs. cheaper plastic). I do concede that the Fuze has a better (portrait only) interface, and that besides the aforementioned they are very identical.
i think the way the iphone is priced will definitely hurt the competition. this seems like a perfectly good phone but the average consumer would just think “hey at that price i could just get the iphone, those commercials looks so kewl”.
Hmm… I’m just wondering if I’m looking at the same phone everyone else is. I seem to think it looks pretty good. Simple, sleek, and silver – get’s an A from me.
That looks cool an all touch LG smartphone ill wait tll att gets the curve 8900 since I like that better than the bold wifi is good enough for me I doubt champaign urbana is ever going to get 3G coverage anytime soon so much for us campus folks lol
Ok I might very well be one of those consumers who looks at this and says “well for that price I might as well get the iPhone” Why would I buy WinMo over iPhone? (and I really mean that as a serious question)
Amazing how AT&T is going to charge $199 on the phone after a $100 MIR and Wal-Mart is giving it away for free.
Phone looks nice. I used to me a WMO fan, but too many crashes on the phone. But the Wal-Mart price may be well worth the purchase if you’re not a heavy power user.
@ Marcie: With WIndows Mobile, there are thousands upon thousands of 3rd party programs (many of which are free) that can be used to increase the functionality of the phone almost endlessly. On the other hand, while the iPhone’s interface is very nice to look at and very simple to use (almost too simple in my opinion, it gets boring), you are limited as far as what you can do with it to what is available in the App Store. If you want a phone that you will love from the moment you turn it on, the iPhone is way to go. But if you are someone who likes to have options as far as customization and functionality, WM phones are the better choice.
@Esquire… yeah but how many times a day do you have to restart the winmo phone because it constantly crashes? many of those applications arent well made and seriously bog down the process. and dont get me started on its awful web browser. i’m not saying the iphone or the appstore is perfect by any means but it easily trumps winmo in terms of ease of use and reliability.
ps to say the iphone interface is boring is absurd. its really fun to use and is the reason why many people love it.
This doesn’t look that bad but for the price, it’s not really worth it. I would have rathered an Omnia instead of this on AT&T. But I guess Verizon is going to be the first U.S. carrier to carry the Omnia.
I know this is LG’s first winmo, but is this their first smartphone? If so, could it be that the US is their test market so they can gauge their ability to make a worthy business capable device with which to unleash upon the rest of the world?
Just a FYI:
Walmart is (like a number of online cell phone retailers) ONLY “giving the phone away”, if the transaction is for a new account with AT&T. Existing customers will still get $100 MIR, so the price ends at $199.
P.S: By the way where is the “unboxing video”? I really don’t want to comment on a device, I have seen live or through e reasonable test report.
@ gadgetchic: I’ve used both the iPhone and several WM phones quite extensively so I think I am in a position to say which I think is the better option. As I said before, depending on your needs, different things are better for different people. If the WM devices you’ve used have crashed CONSTANTLY, there is a problem with the user, not the phones. Sure, they are less stable than the iPhone, but I’d give up a little stability for virtually endless customization options (good ones, not BS software from BS sources) to the iPhone’s very beautiful and easy-to-use, but limited nature; it simply is what it is and not much more. And to call my personal OPINION about the iPhone’s interface absurd is absurd in itself. Sure, the interface is cool for a while, but then it gets very old (again, my opinion, as well as the opinion of several iPhone users I know). And I certainly wouldn’t consider it any more fun than TouchFlo 3D for Windows Mobile (which is what I prefer personally). Now I will agree that IE mobile is a horrible web browser, and I will also concede that mobile Safari is unmatched at the moment, but Opera Mobile is a very respectable browser that comes very close to the Safari experience and is being seen more and more commonly as the default browser for WM phones, not to mention Skyfire, which has Flash support, something neither Safari nor Opera has. FWIW, I am NOT bashing the iPhone by any means, and actually quite like it, but I refuse to say that it is the be all, end all of the mobile industry as so many unfortunately have. I am simply offering my opinion as to why someone would choose a WM device over the iPhone because Marcie asked. I repeat, for some people (a lot of people actually), the iPhone is an absolutely superb device, especially if the most you’ll want to do is listen to music, send a few emails and texts, and show off, but for the more tech saavy of us who just want a little (a lot) more out of our mobile devices, WM is the way to go, for the time being at least.
For all of you iPhone users out there, can you all do me one little favor: Record a video on your phone explaining why the iPhone is the greatest thing ever!
Oh wait . . . you can’t record video’s on your phone!!!! OK, how about take a picture and then send it to me via MMS. Oops! What kind of Jesus phone can’t even do basic things like that. What a waste of $$$$ to me. But hey, that’s just my opinion.
Every damn phone on the Walmart page is free, except for say one phone! Even all of the Blackberry devices are free. Really!
Also, it’s not out to compete against the iPhone. Why is it that whenever a new phone comes out, Jesus Phone Freaks have to say that “Oh this can’t compete against my iPiss.” But really, your iPhone cannot do what I need a phone to do! I take a crap load of photos and then text them to my friends, I can’t do that on an iPhone. I like to record video’s. Can’t do that on the iPiss. I like to customize my handsets, which I can’t really do with the iJunk.
Oh, and something else . . . I like the fact that I do not have to take my gloves off to dial on the screen in the winter time! But hey, that’s just my opinion.
Anyone know if it will come with the TV service also? Like the Vu or the Eternity?
