LG Incite now available from AT&T

Sweet – it looks like our leaked AT&T Holiday lineup was spot on, with every phone on the list now available from AT&T. The last phone on the list to make its debut, the LG Incite, went live on AT&T’s website early this morning. The Incite, if you remember, is the LG’s first North American offering to feature Windows Mobile. No proprietary LG OS for the Incite, this handset is rocking Windows Mobile Professional 6.1. The Incite has a 3″ WQVGA touchscreen, 256 MB ROM/128 MB RAM and a 3MP camera, making it solid mid-range Windows Mobile phone. Unlike the Fuze, the Incite does not have a physical keyboard and relies on an on-screen QWERTY keyboard for input. Connectivity options abound as the Incite is a quad-band GSM phone with tri-band 3G, Wi-Fi, bluetooth 2.0 EDR and OTA firmware updates. The Incite also packs a bunch of multimedia features including AT&T Mobile Music, XM Radio and Pandora Music streaming. Awesome! The Incite retails for $199 after a $100 MIR and with a 2-year contract. A non-contract purchase will set you back a respectable $500.

Do you iPhone haters not have anything better to do with your time than to post the same crap over and over again? If you don’t like it fine. Just discuss the phone that is the topic of this post. Like it or don’t like it but waste everyones time with the same hate speech that we’ve all heard a bazillion times.

Jez, ya fvcking bitches… No one cares whether you love or hate the iPhone. I repeat, NO ONE CARES EITHER WAY!

@ Evilhomer: I’m pretty sure there’s only one person who has posted here who hates the iPhone, and it’s definitely not me, so if you’re referring to me, reread my post and fall back! And for the record, iPhone haters wouldn’t exist so plentifully if the iPhone wasn’t brought up EVERY SINGLE TIME a new phone is released, or if iPhone fanboys didn’t feel the need to constantly let everyone know why the iPhone is the greatest thing since the invention of time itself.

Anyway, back to the Incite, it’s good to see that ATT is giving smartphone users so many unique options this year.

@Esquire: That’s why I said no one cares either way. Actually it was in caps. You shouldn’t have missed it.

And I agree. I like all the options being offered by AT&T. The iPhone is a great device but, like all devices, not for everyone. I bought a 60 plasma TV the other day and my neighbor didn’t like it because “it was too big”… (go figure).

It just goes to show that no matter HOW good something is, it’s not always going to suit everyone. I am sick of the argument from both sides. If you say something good about the iPhone you are a fanboy, and if you say something negative you are a hater. It just needs to stop. I don’t need to hear yet another asshole tell me I can’t send MMS. But then I don’t need another asshole to me that I don’t need to send MMS either. It’s a losing battle for both sides and I think it’s time we stop it.

I don’t agree with you though on the WinMo issue. Nor do I believe you are specially qualified to tell us which is better because you’ve carried them. Many of the posters here have carried a multitude of devices on all types of platforms but that doesn’t make ANYONE specially qualified to tell someone that X is better then Y. That’s all very subjective to a users needs. I am over 40 and have used just about every smartphone you can think of. Personally, I think that WinMo is the worst of all platforms in terms of stability and dependability. I don’t care if it has a trillion apps or does MMS or cut and paste. It’s still the most unreliable. I have lost business over missing phones calls from a locked up WinMo device that I didn’t even know was locked up until I realized I hadn’t been getting calls all day.

WinMo devices were fine as stand alone PDA’s. But, like Windows OS on the desktop, when it try’s to do EVERYTHING, it winds up doing none of them well. I can say in all my years, the most stable devices that I’ve used is the OSX, both desktop and iPhone, Blackberrys, and Palm OS devices. I never missed a call due to those being locked up. WinMo may be getting better, and I won’t argue that since I quite using it two years ago, but as long as MS has been in the game, they should be leaps and bounds better and more stable than anything else. Instead, they are being pwned by every other platform. INCLUDING THE VERY NEW Android and iPhone OS’s.

Esquire, Evilehomer was actually talking about me. I lit a fire under his iBritches and now he’s all iPissy.

Fact is, those who masterbate to their iPhone’s will automatically compare every touch screen device to their iPorn. But when people like me, who didn’t drink the Coolaid, comes along and reminds them that they fell for the hype and how much of a P.O.S. their phone really is, they get all defensive.

So let’s talk about the Incite: It is a Windows Device, made for people who enjoy windows devices. You can do A LOT more with a windows device then you can with the Jesus Phone, and this one costs less to. I’ve seen and played with the Incite, and to be honest, it’s a really nice phone. It’s only a tad larger then the VU, a great display and some really cool features, such as an 3mp camera that records videos, a FM Radio and a 3.5mm Headset Jack.

Granted it doesn’t have the “Ooooh pretty” O/S of the iPhone, but I would much rather have a phone with a better camera, one that syncs with Outlook, and one where I can get over 10,000 applications to run on my device. Plus I have a Tilt, running WinMo6.1 and I have never had to “reboot” my device because of an unstable O/S. Even with 6.0. So whoever said that is just a moron.

Yeah, I hate the iPhone. So yeah, I hate those who will die for the iPhone. It’s just a phone and none of it’s technology is new. Lg has been making touch screen handsets for almost 10 years. So has Samsung and HTC. But what I really hate are the people who automatically say, “Another phone that can’t beat my iPhone.” Even if it’s not even out to compete with your iPoop.

But when you look at the specks on what this phone can do to what your iSuck can do, side by side, you’ll see that this Incite beats the living iCrap out of the iPhone. Even my “mid tier” music phone has more features. But hey, that’s my opinion.

    Evilhomer,

You do realize that maybe you were having hardware issues and not O/S issues? I have never had an issue with any of my Windows products, being on my PC or PDA or even Cell Phone. I depend on my devices for my job, and not once had I had an issue. Why? Cell phones are just like mini computers, you do need to reboot them every so often. Same goes with the iPhone.

Just because You are a douche and can’t understand the workings of a grown up device using windows, doesn’t mean you have to spew your hate speech on a device that is just launching.

The iPhone will just not do what I (and millions of others) need a phone to do. Plain and simple! I know a lot of people who returned their iPhones once they found out about the MMS issue and lack of Video. That’s HUGE! And that is basic stuff.

I also do not understand why I have to do what Steve Jobs tells me I have to do with a phone. If I want to put my own software on a device that I paid for, then hell yeah I’m going to. But if Apple does not “approve” of the software because Apple is NOT making any money off of it, then screw you.

There’s so much more then just the lack of MMS, just the fact that I can’t customize and do what I want to do to something that I paid $300 for, because Steve Jobs doesn’t like that, is a HUGE turn off for me. I have a solid Windows Device, never had an issue with it and I can do to it whatever the hell I want. Plus it does what I need a phone to do. But hey, that’s just my opinion.

@JunkJugget: You don’t score points in a debate by name calling. That’s pretty much the last resort of idiots. Geez, talk about someone acting like a little bitch for pissing on their favorite OS…

I don’t think think I had “hardware issues” with every single Windows mobile device that I ever owned. The only common denominator was the OS.

If I had one wish though, it would be that the little tough talkers like you that hide behind the internet would actually have to call me a douche to my face. I can promise you that five minutes with me and you’d learn a whole new respect for how you talk to people…

@ Evilhomer: I apologize for not reading your post as well as I should have. Also, I want to clarify that I never meant to imply that I am qualified make a decision on which device is definitively better based on my ownership of both WM devices and the iPhone. I only meant that I am qualified to give my personal opinion (which is what someone asked for to begin with, hence how this whole thing got started) on which I think is best for which type of person, based on actual first hand knowledge, rather than what I heard from someone else. I thought I made that clear, but perhaps not. Anyway, I agree that this fanboy/hater battle needs to end. As you said it is a losing battle for both sides and it only serves to frustrate everyone who really just doesn’t care either way.

@Esquire: Thanks and I certainly did not mean to discount your experience as irrelevant and think we all benefit from the experiences of others. How nice it would be to be able to discuss our likes and dislikes of devices and carriers without some internet coward (JunkJugget) calling you a douche bag or whatever. I love my iPhone but just spent a half hour of quality time with a Storm, and I like it. Give me a month with it, I might love it.

As I’ve said in the past, I have no loyalty to any device or carrier. That’s just plain stupid unless you actually WORK for the company. And if you do WORK for the company, and being biased in your remarks or reviews because of it, then you probably shouldn’t post. Working for a company is different than being an outright shill. I use whatever device and carrier that serves me best for my needs. I don’t think anyone is a douche for doing that.

Thanks again for the followup post and I hope to see you around more. Just because I don’t like WinMo doesn’t mean I don’t like the person who does.

Blah blah blah. You two done kissing and making up now?

iPhone sucks, plain and simple. I didn’t drink the Cool Aid and run out to pay at least $400 on a phone that can’t do basic items. You hate the fact that I’m right. Why do you complain about people who bring that up? Because to void out something as simple as MMS and Video is just plain Re-Re. See, my opinion is the correct opinion because I know cell phones. Not only that, I actually have a life and I do not sit in forums all day talking to douche bags who hump their iPhones till the crows come a crowing.

I honestly believe that if the iPhone did not have the Apple name on it, you wouldn’t own one. I honestly believe that. Oh, while you maybe upset at me (or offended by being called a douche (I love that word. The way it flows off of my tongue is just sweet as honey)), just remember that no matter how annoying I maybe, I’ll sleep just fine tonight. But then again, that’s just my opinion (which is the correct one).

I just sold my iPhone and purchased the Bold and couldnt be happier. It is nice to have Copy-n-paste, bluetooth that actually works, and great e-mail. Anyway, it got me thinking. What does the iPhone do really well? I cannot come up with one thing. Ok, surfing the web is great when Safari doesn’t crash, which is often.

I am interested in seeing the device though because I want to see what LG may have added themselves to the Windows Mobile OS since often manufacturers add tools and functionality that adds to the experience.

Great phone, the haptic making the phone even more sexier, I was going to get the BlackBerry Storm, but after seeing this phone, I changed my mind.. this is phon i want to get. There’s already a fans website already at http://www.LG-Incite.com LOL.
