Will the Best Buy Store include the 8gb memory card for the Storm like at the Verizon? I am planning on getting it tomorrow, either from Best Buy or Verizon depending on 8gb memory card.

Well neil, the picture of the sign shows $199 for new two year activation and for upgrade. So if that is you $199. The devil of course is in the details of what is Best Buy definition of “upgrade”. Anyone that already has a Verizon account? That would be sweet!

wait i pre-ordered a storm at best buy, is it going to cost me 599 or 200. can i sign a 2yr contract at best buy and get it for 200 or should i get my 50 bucks back. i refuse to pay 599.

No, the new every two does not work at best buy. Tried that and they don’t honor it, only at the verizon stores.

Heyyy guys!!
I work for Best Buy Mobile and I am a part of Verizon myself for the people who aren’t up for their upgrade I totally feel your pain. If you are in that boat the only thing that you could do is call their customer care line and speak to a customer service rep and for the people who are up in about like a month or 2 is pushing sometimes you could get lucky! It seriously depends who is on the other line! And plus with all of this Storm business going on I know it is going to be hard but it doesn’t hurt to try!!!
And for the people who are upset about the NE2, I know at our Best Buy Mobile we don’t accept them and I am sorry to that due to we aren’t a direct Verizon store which is obvious! Haha And I am sorry about that again. But I had a customer who was buying a phone for his son though us and while we were doing the activation he had contacted customer service for Verizon and they had put a credit onto his bill for the NE2 Now! I know it’s not a guarantee but it doesn’t hurt to try. And the pre-sells are refundable and the $50 dollars you do put down goes towards the phone. But like the Manager said due to the fact we had sooo many presells we arent taking any more! But we are there to serve our customers needs we aren’t run on commission at ANY Best Buy Mobiles so we aren’t trying to rip you off or take your money!!!
And for the employee discount that someone was saying we don’t even get to buy the phone outright (for its normal retail value) So our employee prices on phones are just the same as a customer and we serve the customer first like I said we aren’t allowed to buy the phone for its normal value until it is out for about a week or two.
Now, for the people who want to get the iphone because they are saying they have to buy the Storm for its normal retail value!! (now I am TOTALLY not saying that the iphone nor the storm are bad phones they both are great!) Plus I have a iphone myself too. I am just giving you a warning to cancel your Verizon contract is what around $150 dollars the Iphone is $200 8g or $300 16g and then to sign up with AT&T $36.00 dollar activation fee and after that just as the blackberry you need a data plan the cheapest iphone plan not included texting is $70 a month with 450 minutes. Sooo if you think about it including your first bill. you’re overall money you are spending is around $500 dollars now isnt that almost like buying a storm?? and that is with switching carriers all of that comes a lot of headache so JUST a fair warning but if you did want the iphone It is a great phone and so is the Storm! Just wanted to help you guys out is all!!
But just like the Best Buy Mobile Manager said we are offering a free Bluetooth headset and a free e-mail setup which geek squad sets you up with!!

I don’t know if anyone can help with my question. my contract with my current verizon phone is up in about a month. i’ve been pretty much stalking the storm since this summer and am dying to get it on friday. my phones speaker just broke so it doesn’t work and id need a new phone anyway. are they still going to charge me the full $600? can i beg my way into an early upgrade?

New every 2….after a year if you have a high enough monthly plan you can upgrade with a $50 discount. If you wait the full 2 years it’s $100.

Since when does the iphone have 8 mega pix camera? I thouht it was 2 megas. Also, what about iphone not being able to take video? What about iphone not having cut and paste?

Dear Best Buy Mobile manager,
As I said earlier in a previuos post, your initial comments about this whole NE2 was the best and most comprehensive. Since then a lot of people called their local Best buy, myself included and they all said no we can’t honor that since it’s a Verizon offer and not BB. I called Best Buy 800 number and they are aware of the issue yet gave me the same message. I think you mentioned to one of the people responding to your post that their local Best buy mobile manage is “beyond times”. Could you please lead us in the right direction or give us something more soild to go to Best buy with.

I just called my local Best Buy store in Middletown, NY. They WILL NOT honor the “New Every Two” discount and say it will sell for $250.00 flat out. Basically, they agreed I should get it from Verizon directly, not from them.

No, the “new every 2″ $100 credit only works at Verizon’s site and at its stores only. Won’t work at Best Buy. I asked and they said no, so I cancelled my pre-order and got my refund. Means now I can get the Storm for $99.99.

The sign is the correct pricing. It’s a PDF file that we print the pricing tags from each week. While I was in one of the Best Buy’s around where I live I logged in and verified the price.

They just released the numbers and my store has more Storms coming in on order than any other store in the area! I am excited, and it’s going to be a busy Friday morning.

If that signage on top is what we’re going by as proof of the price, I’m skeptical. I trust BGR for good news, but that pic up top screams photoshop to me. Look at the angles of the text “Geek Squad Email Setup” to the rest of the page. Also, note how the M and the K are a little higher than the rest of the text surrounding it.

I agree with what smknv8s said about getting the phone while still in contract. Just go into the store or call CS and talk to them…if they rep wont help you ask to speak with a supervisor. I wouldnt suggest crying and complaining like everyone does on here about it. Act like a human being, don’t be a jerkoff and threaten to cancel your service because let me tell you….they will tell you goodbye in many instances. If they gave in to every person that has threatened to cancel they wouldn’t be in business.

I understand it is frustrating I do this when i call into CS for a customer. If i don’t get what I want and i have a good feeling I can get it. I just call back and talk to another rep or ask for a supervisor. But the whole key is don’t act like you are a sub-human form of life.

b) why would you PAY to get out of your VZW contract, then go buy a iPhone and sign for another contract (on an inferior network)?

If you’re dead set to get something before you are eligible per the contract you signed, buy yourself out of your contract (they will let you) and sign up for a new contract right there and then.

You forget the things the storm CAN do..
1. Make a phone call and not drop it ten times.
2. 3g Data that ACTUALLY WORKS.
3. Battery that lasts a day, not 5 hours like the Iphone, oh and with the Storm you can carry multiple batteries.
4. Email that WORKS.. not email that SOMETIMES works like the Iphone.
5. A LED to let me know I missed a call or email while I was in the can.

Iphone fag boys are such a hoot..
