iPhone and iPod Touch get Netflix queue management thanks to i.TV
It took a while, as it typically does, but once again an App Store app has brought official iPhone / iPod Touch support for something a jailbroken app has provided for over a year. This time, it’s Netflix queue management. Like iFlix, a widely popular app for jailbroken Apple handsets, i.TV has now added Netflix queue management to the long list of supported TV and movie-related functionality it provides. i.TV users can quickly and easily view movies available from Netflix, read summaries and cast info, check out movie ratings and of course add or remove movies from a Netflix queue. The app is still completely free and available via the Apple App Store. Maybe the i.TV developers will also add Blockbuster Total Access support to the app – we think there still might be three or four subscribers.
There are over 7 apps that do this in the App Store and this one was NOT the first.

Actually the iPhone has permitted Netflix Queue “management” since day one; perhaps you’ve heard of a little known app called MOBILE SAFARI (perhaps you mistook the iPhone for one of those phones with a crappy browser, which admittedly is all of them with the exception of the G1).
With respect to something being “almost as useful as copy/paste,” look at the scoreboard: the presence of copy and paste on RIM products didn’t help them (as in RIM’s entire line) outsell the iPhone 3G last quarter, and it hasn’t triggered mass G1 adoption either. In other words, let it go. It’s gotten very old, and it’s always been wrong. Cheers.
There have been several apps that let you manage netflix for some time now. iTV has had netflix support for at least a week, more i think. Perhaps if I use a Roku box and manage my instant queue from my iPhone I will never have to get up. Now if only they had more instant movies. Yea laziness!
The ranting might get old at times, but it’s still a valid one. It’s a crucial functionality that many people would highly appreciate. I’m once a gain glad that you can offer such insightful perspective, Perspective.
Furthermore, Nokia’s S60 browsers have done a phenomenal job for years now as well, even before the lauded iPhone. Get your facts straight.
The S60 browser is no match for Safari. Sorry. It’s better than many, but even Opera Mobile seems to have surpassed Nokia’s offering.
As far as the cut and paste, that is an old, old broken record and for those of you who find it an absolute deal killer, I assume that you bought something else so no need to continue bitching about it.
hmmm copy and paste is a tired and old argument, but it never ceases being true. I was going to copy and paste a serial number from an e-mail which would allow me to check my fedex package… oops nope, had to write it down manually and then check it… guess copy and paste really is useless
I don’t really consider the copy paste to be a deal breaker. to me its more of the pay 400 dollars for a phone on a carrier that was rated below tmobile in certain regions. also the fact that you either have to baby the thing or wrap it in a nice rubber which makes it fat and unattractive and a bitch to pull out of your pocket to type. I like my smartphone, its not an iPhone and it has copy paste and real keys. but its always good to see a good ol apple fanboy holding down the fort for steve!

@leetgnr and david: You miss the point. I’m not saying that c&p isn’t useful, I’m just saying that if it’s a deal killer for you then I’d think you’d buy something else. If you DO own and iPhone, then lack of c&p was not a deal killer. In that case, you knew when you bought it that it didn’t have c&p so why keep bitching about it. It has nothing to do with fanboism. It’s just a thing that you deal with.
I plan on buying a Storm, but I don’t plan on spending my days on forums bitching about the lack of wifi. That would be a waste of time.
Dashbuster works best and works with Netflix or Blockbuster, plus it’s been available for months.
