Fry’s drops $1099 new MacBook before Black Friday
Early adopters, prepare to be annoyed. Those of you who have been putting off picking up the sexy new aluminum MacBook, prepare to be pleasantly surprised – as long as you live near a participating Fry’s. While plenty of speculation is being tossed around with regards to Apple being aggressive with its pricing this coming Black Friday, Fry’s is apparently sick of the hubbub. Rather than wait to find out what Apple has in store for the upcoming shopping holiday, if anything, future MacBook owners can make their way down to Fry’s where the base aluminum MacBook will be on sale for $1099. $200 off the normal retail price isn’t too shabby at all. Unfortunately not all the discounted MacBooks will be new models as the ad stipulates demos and open boxes will be thrown into the mix. As long as you don’t mind knowing your new lappy has likely been manhandled by hoards of Fry’s customers before you, you’re good. It looks like the sale will only be on tomorrow, and only at brick and mortar stores. Who’s in?
Gizmodo put out an update that said that Fry’s meant the Black MacBook not the new MacBook. And to make matters even worse, the deal is only available in San Jose, CA.
So much for getting a great pre-Black Friday deal on an awesome laptop…

The article says “for Black Friday” in the title. Then, it says “It looks like the sale will only be on tomorrow.”

Yeah I did too lol. Pretty confusing ad indeed. But it doesn’t really matter because it’s not even valid for anyone outside of San Jose, CA and it’s for the wrong MacBook anyways.
When they sell out of Black Books maybe they can sell you a Black Berry.

Correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t Cupertino like less than 5 miles from San Jose? I bet Apple is just trying to find a way to unload demo and test stock in such a manner that it doesn’t ruin their reputation. Think about it… and yes, someone should update the BGR report. On a side note, does anyone think that the iPhone may have got its name from the movie Johnny Mneumonic? There is a sequence where Keanu is listing off stuff he needs for getting on the internet, and he lists what would probably read as “Thompson Eye Phone”…interesting fodder…
Too ma for frys… even though they made a mistake they put out that ad for that notebook. They must sell what they advertise. But you never go up to some guy and show it too them. They say its out of stock. What you do is print out the ad, and take the item, and go to pay up front. Then you show them the ad, and they will refund you however much is needed. I do this all the time. Frys screws up on at least one thing every day so easy way to save money
