Full details on the Verizon Wireless Nationwide Connect Plan

Listen up, Verizon folks! Your carrier (or soon to be carrier if this news sways you) will soon be offering the Nationwide Connect Plan that has been passed around the rumor mill lately. As of November 16, VZW will be releasing the plan which includes unlimited data and email, unlimited messaging (SMS and MMS) and unlimited mobile-to-mobile and night/weekend minutes. This is similar to the “all-in” plans offered by other carriers and will only apply to dumbphones. Still, it’s not a bad deal if you have an LG Voyager, Dare, Samsung Glyde and so forth. We have the pricing plans and from the looks of things, we don’t see why any VZW customer without a smartphone wouldn’t jump on this. Also as of November 16 for all you travel bugs, if you sign up for VZ Navigator at $9.99 a month you will receive one month free, whether you’re a new or existing customer. For more details on the rate plans and the official letter sent out to Verizon peeps, hit the jump!

I’m not big fan of Sprint but unlimited for $99/mo is a little cheaper than this.

Hmmm. Doesn’t seem to be much of a better value than the premium plan. I pay 140 for two lines on the premium plan. That would be the same price under the select plan w/o VZW navigator.

Verizon must be out of their minds… They are forcing everyone to get 29.99 dollars PDA plan on everyone who wants any Window mobile and blackberry devices.

    CDMAUser says:

The customer service at Sprint might be substandard, but no other company can match what they offer with their $99 Simply Everything Plan. Thought about hopping over to AT&T to grab the bold and they informed me that it will be an additional $60/mo to include the Blackberry plan, messaging, and the GPS. No thanks, we’ll get a CDMA variant in a year or so. My Curve works just fine for the price.

I was thinking the same as all of you above…

Im on Sprint, no desire to do the Verizon thing. It is only $10.00 less then the Premium Plan, and at $10 more for the premium plan, Id use the Navigation (which is substandard to Sprint’s version), and the TV/Music features more then $10 is worth. This above plan is no “real” deal.

As for $30 more for Smartphones – head over to Sprint or T-Mobile, both offer internet plans that are able to be activated on ANY PHONE for a lower price then Verizon, so yeah…

BOLD – $60 FOR SOME DATA, MESSAGES and the BB Messenger? OH HELL NO.

Someone needs to Family Plan me, and maybe they can get me a $9.99 add-on deal. HEHEHE

Sprint has lost 1.3 million customers alone in the last quarter. So obviously there is some reason why customers in a “failing economy” are paying more money else where!! *cough customer service and coverage cough*

    Anonymous loser says:

Am I reading this right… data and voice for just $70? That same plan right now would cost closer to $80 without text and $100 including messaging.

If I read this right this is a great deal compared to the current $99.99 rate for 450 min, unlimited data/web/text. I’m shocked VZW is knocking $30 off their plans.

Customer Service, maybe but coverage isn’t one of the reasons for leaving unless your an IDEN sub but that is where the looses come from so that’s helping thier coverage

    Jessica Lynn says:

All plans seem expensive when you compare them to Sprint. If you use Sprint as a benchmark for anything, you become jaded. There is a reason why they underprice their services so low. I can’t count how many customers I know who even have Sprint let alone Sprint users who pay regular price for anything.

I joined Sprint earlier this year for SERO and it was the absolute worst experience in my life. Not worth the hassle ever again.

I don’t see this plan as being too awful. In fact i’m a little jealous. I’m on the blackberry data plan and pay the $70 bucks for the 450 min/unl data. I don’t get the unlimited messaging though. Seems like a decent option for the dumb phone users.

    cwcanty says:

What they need is an inclusive plan for Blackberries. Something with…

    Unlm Data
    Unlm Text
    GPS

All for one price as an add on or bundle it with minutes for a total package. Its so frustating that they make all of these package for dumbphones users, when the entire market is starting to shift to the smartphone arena. CREATE A FREAKIN SMARTPHONE BUNDLE VERIZON!!!

    RL says:

If you want a discount on blackberry data plans, you should get the bundled vocie and data smartphone plans. You can get unlimited text, blackberry data and 450 minutes for $99.99. Thats cheaper that getting the Select Plans $59.99 with the email and data blackberry plan $29.99 together. With the combo plan you get the Blackberry corporate email package for the same price as the $29.99 pop3 and imap email plan. ANd plus ur VZW sales rep will love you because we get paid higher on this plans!

    @cwcanty

thats what they are doing with the connect plan…it is a smartphone bundle as well…if you want vz nav all you have to do is add 9.99 to any of the connect plans its that simple…so learn how to read and use some common sense and you might get somewhere :)

    RL says:

No it is not going to be able to work for smartphones with this plan…. it is only for dare, voyager, env2, etc….But all new smartphones will require a $29.99 data plan…. which I always thought would make sense! You are an dumb ass if you get a smart phone with out data plan.

I think what people are missing is that this isn’t for smartphones. so for $60 you get unlimited data but only through mobile web. good deal 5 years ago, but I need the full web now!
