iPhone 2.2 screenshots: App Store
There are plenty of iPhone 2.2 OS screenshots floating around, but we just got a hold of some we hadn’t seen. These detail the changes to the App Store which honest to god makes so much sense. Finally you can sort the categories themselves by “Top Paid”, “Top Free” and “Release Date”. In addition to that, each category gets a cute little icon instead of just text-based lists, and you can finally browse through all the application screen shots. This means instead of looking at some stupid start-up shot, you can actually browse through the application like you would in iTunes. All in all, pretty nice improvements. Leave it to Apple – now if only we could trial apps like just about every other smartphone platform. Maybe Apple’s saving that for 2055 when they finally introduces copy/paste. who cares? does anyone care? Thanks apple for really prioritizing the important stuff. I find it so funny that they view cut/paste low priority and redesigning the app store as high priority. joke! i’m getting me a bold asap.
If it wasn’t 15 extra dollars a month from my Original Iphone I would be “bolding” it also.
Iphone is a great gadget but it seems the more important stuff is going by the way side.
What Apple should do before releasing 2.2 is adding lanscape keyboard like the Blackberry Storm will have on release.
Ok, I love my iPhone 3G. It’s never out of my reach and hell, it’s really come in handy for finding that cool video when I’m out with my friends or being able to look things up on google maps, and use the GPS. But the day that I wanted to forward a text message (about a month ago) and I realized I couldn’t (though I thought it could) really pissed me off! I’ve been able to manage no MMS and no copy/paste, but really, there isn’t a forward button? I say screw the app store, Apple needs to get off their ass and finally give us what we’ve needed for the past year+!
Thanks, Scott, I forgot to mention that. At least if we can’t get copy/paste how about forwarding sms??? Or the crazy ingenious idea of being able to sms contact info to someone else. (how maddening is it when you get an mms and it shows you the web address and msg id and password as a work abound and you can’t even cut and paste that into the web!? I have to write it on a piece of paper first then go there. rant rant)
does Apple have a customer service line with a live person at the other end someone can voice there opinion on?

I love my iPhone 3G but
how frustrating is it when you can’t foward a SMS.
Screw the app store, focus on what we need.

Listen apple, i understand you only do things when there is a monetary advantage to be found… but really… we need copy and paste.. it will actually allow the iPhone to be a real smart phone contender.. oh and landscape keyboard in all apps would be killer too…
it appears that I’m not left alone in the lone world of not being able to forward an SMS message. Hey BG, is there anyway for us iPhone owners to voice our opinions to apple? Maybe in away that they might acually be heard? Honestly, first street view for google maps and now the app store gets updated (for 2.2). Those, they way they are, work fine. But a over a year and no copy/paste, MMS or even SMS forwarding (also, nice point jp about the contact information) is getting to be rediculous!

for those wanting to forward sms:
jailbreak & install bitesms. apple leave u no choice. 2.2 is not going to have it if the previews are accurate
it has sms forwarding, contact details sending, gps location sending and even individual sms deletion.
all while retaining the apple look & feel.
apple’s excuse that too much feature is going to clutter the interface is a load of bull.
Of course Apple will NOT release copy and paste, or a keyboard fix at this time. Those “advanced” features will only be on the iPhone 4 .. or maybe iPhone Pro, or iPhone business.
It’s a ipod, and app distribution system for Apple to collect MORE money, but it’s not a business phone. I wonder if some of the fanboys have ever been to an Airport, it’s a SEA of Blackberry phones and one or two iPhones… mostly bitching that they can’t get a signal.
just got a iphone about days ago still in the 30 day trial period i’m about 80% of keeping it but the forward text is a big issue o me and no mms that really sucks it also got me looking for the bold .
personally can’t wait for 2.2. copy and paste would be nice but its not that much of an issue, still I would like it, but overall its an incredible device.
Hey Apple and Mr. Jobs, how about taking that F****ng app store and all the other useless shit your company comes out with and release some firmware that will do what the other 99% of cell phones will do, you dumb asses.

What is so incredible about the Iphone? I’ve had one for over a year and cannot wait till the Storm hits the market, it will do everything the Ishit will do plus what it ought to do.

come on guys ya know well enough apple is not going to put copy and paste or mms on this i phone 3g they will put it on the next iphone thats smart of apple more money for them so you can and want the iphone thats coming out with all the stuff we need apple is just teasing us like babies there just giving us a taste at a time thats business

Should be obvious of course, but perhaps the person working on the App Store is ready for 2.2, while the person working on copy and paste needs to put a bit more work into it? It isn’t like throwing more people on a project magically makes it go faster. In fact, it makes the project go slower.
If some of the missing features aren’t out in at least 2.3 I’ll JB it for sure..
Only reason I haven’t is the fact that my warranty and all of the insurance is gone as soon as I do XD
