BlackBerry Storm hitting Verizon on November 24th, pre-launch on 20th?

We just got our hands on this document detailing the latest release dates for the Storm on Verizon. Just be careful, we have all learned that target launch dates come and go quicker than a Sprint subscriber. With that said, this information comes directly from a good source of ours, so we’d wager on this being pretty accurate. Here’s what we’ve learned:
- 123 corporate Verizon stores will be “pre-launching” the device on November 20th. That means that the 123 stores will have Storms in stock to demo for customers and to pre-order the device for them. This is only for high-end VZW customers, and people that got the mailing that went out. The general public, as we’re informed, can not just “mosey on down.”
- November 24th (and November 25th?) is the general availability date which includes corporate sales, telesales, and indirect dealers.
The confirmed pricing for the BlackBerry Storm is indeed dude, we’ve been saying this foreverz around $199.99 after MIR with a two-year agreement. We were also told that corporate store inventory will be full, full, and full of Storms. Apparently, our tipster tells us that the latest build of the unit is incredibly stable, and touch input is very much improved. So, there ya go! Let’s hope this pans out… Verizon really needs to make a Thanksgiving launch. Larger size shot is after the jump.
Thanks, NotHTCKid!

Thanks BG…
Q: Any idea what date we can order the phone ONLINE via the Verizon Wireless website? I can’t wait to get rid of this Moto Q!
Thanks,

I very much hope I am wrong. RIM’s past has been in line with the business customer. I just think they are also trying to tap some of the customers who enjoy a good entertainment device also. Which is why VZW is pushing the screen resolution and video player. And I’m not saying they can’t target small business. They can have all the small business events they want. Just somewhere, someday, mention that the device will be available to the entire Storm-wanting population. I don’t think that is too much to ask. Especially since they are apparently ready to launch this thing. If they aren’t done with build-testing now, then it won’t even be the 23rd.
I can’t wait for this phone to come out I love blackberry I’m a tmo customer and as soon as this comes out I’m taking my number to vzw I’m reading good things about this phone only thing I do wish it had wifi but its not a big deal
@Dave – On Nov 12, 2008 @ 8:23 am, Dave Said:
“I recieved a mailer from Verizon Wireless for a private sale on Nov 17-21 and the Storm was included.”
Does the Private Sale Mailer include Locations?
So what is this “mailed” suppose to look like, anyone know? I just went through my mailers from vzw, bit am unsure as to what exactly I’m looking for. I have one in hand from Oct talking briefly about the Storm, but would H8 4 it 2 B the wrong or incorrect onr…
I just received a call from Best Buy about my pre-order saying that now the phone won’t be available for pick-up until the first week of December. That makes me really mad as I am leaving the country early december for two months and wanted to use my Storm abroad. Has anyone heard of this delay as well?
dave,
care R share that mailer w/me? E-mail to me @ hendersonautotransport@msn.com
i dont think thi is true. I can make that document if i wanted to it is not that difficult. I think its a release this weekend but i guess we have to wait to find out.

This has to be the funniest post on BGR in a long while.
The mailer has private sale written on it with the dates so unless yours has that then you did not receive one.
@ Jeff that’s a smart idea…the loss of a #, unless it is crucial to you or your business, is a small price to pay to save $200 in a recession.
@ BG quick ?…has any other products receive as many comments or hits as the Storm posts have on your site?
I would love NYC storm codes if anyone has a few to lend.

There’s no point of Wi-Fi for this device,i mean it would be nice but Verizon is a 3G network and it’s already fast.
Typical liberal hater. You’ve got nothing positive coming from your side.
You wanks pooh-pooh’ing the Storm private sale need to get your lazy butts to more sites than just this one!

You’re an idiot. It is real, I was sent one. The 4 cards have demo media content on them, the retail unit comes with 18gb. Idiot.
A Verizon rep told me the Storm was supposed to be released on Nov. 17th but they were told to delay it because of some software issues. (This already scares me.) Now the plan is for next week but that’s not for sure.
What’s up with the four 2GB memory cards? Are we going to have to swap cards for different content? They’ve been advertising that the Storm will come with an 8GB microSD card. This seems very odd and like a huge waste.
Honestly this releas date makes perfect sense in VZW’s eyes. Look at last year with the voyager. All of the advertising and it was launched the day before thanksgiving. Good push for black friday. All marketing
@ Missy
From what I understand a software glich won’t push back a launch a handful of days. Possibly inventory will or like I said before, Marketing
Ok lets explain this again for the people who just do NOT seem to get it. the 4 2GB media cards are part of the PRESS/DEMO kits for the in stores. The actual units themselves will ship with ONE 8GB card. You will NOT receive 4 2GB cards but ONE 8GB card. Got it?
Hold on… now Verizon is screwing us by giving us one 8GB card!?! I want the four 2GB cards because more of anything is better. Damn you Verizon, damn you!!!
Rumors just turned to facts…got a call from Best Buy and my apppointment is set for Sunday the 23rd…
How much is Best Buy charging for the Storm? Can you still get the new every two discount?
latest firmware works like a dream–I’m now carrying a Storm as my corporate BES device.
What do you mean you got it for FREE??? Hoe did you do that??
@marty
how is the slide show presentation, a report from an insider high up the ladder at verizon…a rumor, but you getting a call from some jerkoff at best buy “confirming”
some of the posters here don;t deserve the information you get.
