Is 192kbps ogg, better than 256kbps AAC? I’d really have to see test result on that one.

I’d also have to say, this is a smart move. As soon as I see that something is not iTunes Plus, I move on and spend my money on other things. Hell, I might start buying whole albums from new artists, instead of cherry picking the one or two singles I know I like. Theoretically, the AACs I purchased on iTunes Plus are better quality than Amazon’s MP3’s (though, I really can’t hear the difference). The huge difference for me is that I can just download stuff at will after I hear a track on my local NPR affiliate to my iPhone. DRM really crimps on this spontaneous purchase, however. I think three times before I download a regular iTunes track as opposed to iTunes Plus– and by that time, I’ve sort of moved onto other things in my life.

or I just buy physical format: CD, and encode to 192kbps ogg vorbis, better audio quality
