New Verizon BlackBerry Storm commercial airs
If that last ad left you wanting to punch the TV screen, this one should help calm you down a little bit. It doesn’t offer much in terms of new content, and the device sequence is obviously edited to make it look smoother, but all in all, it’s a pretty decent ad. Favorite line? “What kind of Man Genius is behind this?” Damn, first AT&T, now Verizon ads… someone call Edelman. We need another publicist!
Thanks, Scott!

Jay is smokin crack.
The storm has Rev.A EVDO
LOL @ Jay – Im just curious what you think 3G is?
don’t take me wrong – you have get down and dirty to get us good info, but don’t you think there’s a limit? aren’t you kind of stretching it here?
Ok – I stand to be corrected about the differences in the Bold and Storm…
My mistake – I was thinking about the Javelin when I read the question – sorry there…
4 secs into the video on the bottom right corner: screen images simulated.
BG I think your website is great but come on dude stop hating on the Storm, we know you love your I phone but hey what about us verizon guys? Stop being a hater……
My VZW rep today (Sunday) told me that they are expecting the Storm in-store on 11/17…
The Storm also has UMTS/HSDPA GSM 3G, doesn’t it? Mind you, not on US bands.
BG doesn’t is not an iphone lover!
He’s a Toyota Camry lover!
“You’ve never clicked a screen before, is that supposed to happen?” Is that a joke? Haven’t touch screen enabled cell phones been available for 2+ years including the phone that the Storm is copied after? WOAH! Talk about mad genius.
I dont understand where BGR is trashing the Storm, they have used it already and are just saying what they noticed. Why is everyone so quick to jump on this site, you guys get a thrill out of it?
And Eraser, its called a joke, get over it.
BG’s not hatin’ on the Storm here…the ad is pretty clever…and the screen orientation is just as fast in the new build…if BG would’ve posted the T3 review of it I had sent it all of you would’ve seen how fast it has gotten so far. And please don’t let anyone try and tell me the review video has been edited either. Take a look for yourself.

Uhh mangenius one major thing the Bold offers that the storm doesn’t…Wifi.
talked to verizon today, and no definitive date, they said most likely in time for the holidays and early dec! bummer… been waiting for the storm so I can play and decide whether to stay with the big red or get the iphone
So, phonenews.com is reporting that the VZW Storm will be delayed until the end of the month. Bummer…
@Hedo_Turkoglu,
What other touchscreen phones screen clicks in when you hit it?
I meant when you press it
Although the screen was simulated, it is actually an excellent commercial. It shows how the device should work at it’s best and it should peak interest in it.
Ok, I am not a hater. I love the Storm and looking forward to it coming out soon, very soon. But, I gotta say that I can only hope the accelerometer is nearly that quick as in the video here. It was turning to landscape before he even got it turned all the way.
However, if you watch the T3 video at 1:16 she turns the device in landscape and it didn’t even turn and then they showed an up close in landscape. Clearly edited. Then at 1:31 she turns it back to portrait and it didn’t turn for 2 seconds. I know that’s not a long time, I’m just saying it’s not as fast as the Verizon commercial. Let’s hope it is. Anyone know the date of the T3 review?
@likeabite
They didn’t really show any screen transitions. The first time they switched into landscape, they omitted the transition from SureType to full Qwerty. The other transitions that were there (not close-up) looked okay, but the iPhone’s non-keyboard transitions are pretty good as well. (like into cover-flow in the iPod, web-page transitions, and the You-Tube transitions)
What BGR was talking about was the transition to the full qwerty, which isn’t as smooth on the iPhone and certainly won’t be as smooth on the Storm compared to what the show in the ad.
People are claiming this phone should be available either the 15th, 16th or 17th because there is a store refresh on the 15th.
Sure, technically Verizon had 3G first. But AT&T coined the term here in the U.S. After the release of iPhone 3G, Verizon didn’t have any choice but to start referring to their network as 3G.
i heard from someone at best buy that it would be delayed until the 23rd because they are testing the network with it.
Great ad! I’m sure this is not the final tease either. I bet we’ll see more and more functionality as we get closer to TG. I can’t wait to get a Storm!

I WON A BLACKBERRY STORM!!!
