New Verizon BlackBerry Storm commercial airs
If that last ad left you wanting to punch the TV screen, this one should help calm you down a little bit. It doesn’t offer much in terms of new content, and the device sequence is obviously edited to make it look smoother, but all in all, it’s a pretty decent ad. Favorite line? “What kind of Man Genius is behind this?” Damn, first AT&T, now Verizon ads… someone call Edelman. We need another publicist!
Thanks, Scott!

@ Dante…apparently you’re devoid of reading skills and common sense…I never said you stated it came with the iphone moron. I said it was being used in the US way before the iphone. Them attaching it to their name is what made you say that Verizon started referring to their network as 3G…when that is not the case. Maybe they started saying 3G when AT&T started or whatever but the term was being used in the US before the iphone came around. Plain and simple.
Sorry, but your choice of words is ‘unique’ and constant use of phrases, such as ‘having the facts’, which you just used. Even your quoting of what others have said. Not to mention FIOS. Only you would bring that up…Bob, Paul, EvilHomer, etc. Oh, and I never said you brought up anything negative about VZW in this thread, but in others under your handle Paul, hellno, etc. you have. Hmmm…
And yeah, I’d prove it if I had access to the IP addresses that you use when you post.
@blue
Ok but I still don’t understand why brining up FIOS in reference to broadband service touches a nerve. FIOS, for the layman, is Broadband access. My whole point was VZW using 3G in its ads now is a smart move simply so that people will understand that the they offer 3G service and not just broadband which is generally associated with home use.
I have yet to catch this commercial on TV.. I must be watching the wrong stations..
On a side note: TOMORROW is the First Look, First Touch event in STL and I’m rediculously excited to get my hands on it. Then I will finally be able to form my own opinion on it rather than listening to all this back and forth stuff.
I just hope my experience with it is better than some of those had in Cali. I really don’t want to be disappointed.
Just got off the phone with my account manager and he said he just got back from an all weekend conference in Chi-town today and it was said there that they phone WILL NOT release the Storm before the 23rd. He said that they are looking at two release dates right now. Either put it on our ordering site the 21st and launch it the 23rd OR put it on our ordering site the 24th and launch it the 25th.
I guess now we just all put our money in a release date pool and sit and wait.
So are you saying you don’t watch the office? You dont like Jim because that is his voice on the ads. Has anyone else picked up on this?
I don’t know how long it’s going to take BGR to post this but the Verizon’s having a private Storm sale from the 17th of next week to the 21st…which means the nationwide launch should be right behind…making the 24-25th launch dates seem more like the logical one. Here is the link to the invites sent out.
