Dell isn't forcing anyone to take the time off. I sometimes would like to take unpaid time off when my vacation allotment just doesn't cut it. I spend so much $$$ for an airflight, it'd be nice to spend some more time there. Lucky me right now is that I don't have my own family to support through these economic times. No one is saying that Dell is the ‘bad guy’. All I see here are people making comparisons to other companies that have done the same thing and others pointing out that if the company is so concerned why don’t they dip into their own pockets so to speak.

I simply stated that if I worked for them and they offered it to me I would decline. Just can’t afford it. However, some of the people that work there can. Those are the people Dell will be relying on.
