AT&T Quickfire emerges a few days early

“Big city life” has its ups and downs. Among the upside elements are convenience, diversity, variety and plenty to do after the sun goes down. On the downside, AT&T stores generally listen to HQ. November 11th release date be damned, at least one AT&T store in rural America has reportedly decided to stick it to the man and begin selling the Quickfire a bit early. The tipster hasn’t revealed the location of the rouge shop so we can’t tell you where it’s being sold, but we can at least confirm that the pricing we first reported last month is accurate. $100 after MIR with a 2-year contract and you’re out the door with this bad boy. So what do you think – should T-Mobile’s Sidekick start getting nervous?

Battery runs extremely hot. Will catch on fire if texting fast. This is a known issue they are working on. The testers actually nicknamed this phone ‘Quickfire’

    sooo….
do we have to pay extra to use the GPS?
and the internet applies to the media net charges right?

They should make a shared bundle that has…
    unlimited txt…email…web…and video/pic messaging

I really like this phone just a couple questions for people that have it. Does it have an onscreen keyboard when it’s closed and does it have a card slot? Thanks

I think this is a great phone for at&t. They have been coming out with some nice phones in the couple of past weeks. I’ve had at&t and can’t complain. It is a little bit compared to the sidekick. I think it’s kinda of a mix of a voyager and a sidekick combined. Overall, this looks like a pretty nice phone.

    Thanks.

I got the quikfire this am and so far its not that bad I used to have a sidekick and hated flippn that screen around to do everything….
I got he matrix last week and all and all it was a pretty sharp phone with awesome battery life last several days on one charge with alot of texting but the keyboard was really cramped
I havent had the quikfire long enough to say if the battery last very long so well see
The screen is a little dull I must say and the alert on a text/voice mail is too soft but ringers for calls are loud enough the touch screen is adaquate wouldnt say its like a iphone or anything but for this price $99 its a good phone
I hope they come out with a case or something though.. the entire back and sides are a metallic silver that im sure will scratch super easy
They keyboard is a dream for texters esp if you have bigger fingers id say get this
No you dont have to get any kind of data plan to have this phone but to use aim/yahoo or anything like that you do but just to text and talk just a voice plans will suffice
The plain silver looks adult enough and doesnt have the adolesent look at all if you are wondering if this is only for teenagers
    Hope this helps!!!

To those who have it, how’s the battery life on that thing? I’m a highschooler, and I really don’t want to have it die in the middle of the school day.

Will this have stuff like firmware updates, like other touch screen phones such as the verizon samsung glyde?
