AT&T Fuze hitting shelves November 11th for $299

Looks like the Fuze may be hitting sooner than initially anticipated. An anonymous tipster just dropped some official AT&T documents on us that show the Fuze dropping on November 11th. Start saving your dough now as the Fuze will be a bit pricey according to Big Blue’s recommended pricing:

  • No Commitment : $499.99
  • 1 Year Contract  w/o $50 MIR : $424.99
  • 1 Year Contract  w/ $50 MIR : $374.99
  • 2 Year Contract  w/o $50 MIR : $349.99

This looks pretty official so were gonna give it a thumbs up. Now we just have to wait for AT&T to officially confirm it. Hit the jump for all the Fuze and Fuze accessory info you can handle.

hmmm…same price as blackberry bold but has a better screen, better keyboard, accelerometer, and touch flo. The Bold is cool too but it should have been $199 to compete with the iphone and BB storm. I like how AT&T didn’t copy the sprint version and kept the shiny diamond shaped back but i think that the theme on the sprint version (the black colour with neon icons) looks nicer.

    So my question
I will be upgrading/extending my 2 year plan will they let me keep my Data and phone plan
they did for the last 4 years so far.
and if so can I qualify for the $50 rebate ?

    thanks

Did they take away the video conferencing and ringtone maker in this version?

The $50 MIR seems out of line with what ATT usually offers for data phones like this. I know that in company-owned stores, a PDA will normally get a $100 MIR. Must be different for dealers.

This is excellent news – hope it holds up as AT&T & HTC have a habit of getting my hopes up, only to dash them later! But this looks pretty damn official – Good work Kelly!

will the gps receiver be locked to be used only with ATT Navigator, or will it be left unlocked to be used by other apps like Google maps and windows live search?

Just $80 more for a 1-year contract? That seems pretty solid. I’m tired of 2 year contracts.

I’ll doubt it’ll be pushed back. Nov 11th seems to be the date that many insiders have hinted at for some time. And seeing as to how so many pre-release Fuzes have popped up on ebay lately… they wouldn’t push it.

I’ll be at the ATT store first thing Tues morning, money in hand. :)

It doesn’t say a stylus comes in the box. Ruh roh?

    AT&T Ninja says:

The stylus has to come with the unit as the stylus is magnetic and also activates the screen when retracted.

I don’t see any mention of an accelerometer in any of the materials either.

Just out of curiosity… does it use the same accessories as the other HTC Touch Pro variants (Sprint, etc)? I want to go onto Ebay and order a cheap car charger, case, and screen protector for this in preparation.

Will they sell it at Best Buy as well? I have some gift cards burning a hole in my wallet.

    @Cornelius.

May or may not. Take into concederation the Fuze has the Diamond cut back with edges, and the sprint Touch PRO is flat. also the camera location is slightly different due to the back differences.

@Josh: Yes, the GPS capability can be used with any GPS software, not just AT&T Navigator. BGR left off a page of the document that made that explicit.

    W. M. Miller says:

@Matt: Video Share Calling is one-way and uses the camera on the back. It’s essentially sending the video over the air to the recipient instead of capturing it to memory. It’s not video conferencing, which would use the front-facing camera. AT&T doesn’t support that, so its version of the hardware doesn’t have that camera.

I was so into this phone before I knew it would hit AT&T. The thing is, can it even keep up with a blackberry? I like the simplicity of the blackberry but I just love this phone in it’s entirety. Maybe there will be a hack for mobile me so I can push email to it. Since I trashed the iphone. Is windows mobile that bad?

The iPhone is better if you want entertainment, the blackberry is better if you want a rock-solid, easy interface and you handle 100’s of messages per day. I’m looking forward to the Fuze as a compromise, able to do most of what the other two can do, but probably not as elegantly.

A tad on the expensive side isn’t it? I mean, it’s a good phone – but to get it for even $300 I’d have to wait until May when I can upgrade my contract. It seems a little excessive.

Likely for the professionals who do not need/are not allowed to bring digital cameras into the workplace. I know folks who work in secure environments and are not allowed to bring anything with a camera inside of their place of business.
