Verizon Blackberry Storm Contest!
By now, many of you are just salivating for the Storm and are probably pretty annoyed that Verizon hasn’t announced an official release date yet. Or pricing for that matter. Well, all in due time, dear readers – but in the meantime, Verizon is holding a contest to give you the chance to win a free Blackberry Storm. That’s right, free! They are only giving 50 of these away so listen up and listen good. Verizon has hidden Blackberry Storms cluesall across Manhattan (sorry rest of the country!) and the deal is, the more you find the better your chances of winning. Each Storm that is found will provide a keyword that allows you to enter via SMS for a chance to win. Crazy, right? It starts on November 6th and ends on the 15th so gear up and get ready. In the meantime, it looks like the Storm will be selling for $299 as per the terms and conditions, but we’re guessing that that’s the price before a $100 mail-in rebate as it seems to be standard with most new ‘Berrys these days.
Thanks, Brian!

An excellent reason to be in Manhattan. I love New York!! Can tourists from Toronto enter? (Just kidding.)

“BLACKBERRY for LIFE”
OMFG! ME WANTS! FUCKING KILL Me
i live in Ca.
How Homo Can That Get.
OMFG!
It says there are only 5 given away…..not 50….i am dreading how much I am going to have to spend for one FULL price…but i bet its cheaper than a ticket to NYC and a hotel for 2 weeks
Good Luck New Yorkers!
to bad i love scanber huntsheck if manhattans not that big id ride my bike all over the place looking for em lol but i living an AZ suburb
Wouldn’t the price be $299 – $50 (for gift card)? Rules say ARV is $299 for phone and card.. so knock another $100 of of $250 = $150??
hmm . . . One more reason why not be living in no mans land, I mean cbus ohio. I am hurt verizon all the ppl in the rural areas surrounding cbus use verizon or alltell and you don’t offer it here . . . rude. Granted that none of those ppl would know Wtf does storm mean? Lol well I don’t really want a storm now
From city that never sleeps. Where in the world (City, that is) should I start?
I’m not going to get the discounted price because I had to start a new contract 4 months ago….im paying MSRP!!!!
Wow that’s gay.
Sheesh….show philly some love baybe….sorry bout yer mets…..hehehe
Wonder how big these “clues” are. Could be like a needle in a haystack.
$299? No way. The Storm needs to be $200 or less. You can’t ask for more money than the iPhone 3G when it hasn’t even proved that it’s better yet. I’m gonna see how it performs and based on that, I’ll make my decision.
I will wait until the price comes down to $199.
It better be in noticable areas!!
They’re giving away 5 Storms a day for 10 days. Thus, 50 Storms total.
Out of curiosity, where is the $299 value coming from? I have looked at the Fine Print tab and the only place $299 is located is in the ARV of each of the tickets. For the Storm winners, it does say “Daily Grand Prizes (50): A BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 Smartphone and a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $549 each.” Which less the gift card you get an ARV of $499 for the Storm. Is it just typical of Verizon to knock off $200 w/ 2-year agreement and RIM to offer $100 mail-in rebate?
DAMN! That’s it, I’m either moving to the east coast or the west coast… Everything seems to happen there. F the midwest.. lol
As for the price, my understanding (from what my account manager has told me, he could be wrong..) is the same as Marc’s. It will be $299 but then you get a $100 MIR – thus making it $199. They’ve told us from the begining that the price will compare to that of the iphone. Sooo, that would only make sense.
Happy hunting Manhattan! I’m hope’n someone that visits this site finds a clue.. I wanna know what they are!!
I’ll be one of those scouting for these clues all over the city. Hopefully I win.
Where is everyone getting $299 from? In the terms and conditions for contest states:
Prizes: Daily Grand Prizes (50): A BlackBerry® Storm™ 9500 Smartphone and a $50 Verizon Wireless gift card Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $549 each.
From reading that the Retail cost sounds more like $499 minus the Gift Card. Although, $299 does sound alot better
@SnackBerry
Verizon definitely changed the fine print. It used to say ARV: $299 each.
Sneaky bastards.
Be interesting to see if Verizon actually give the winners their Blackberry unlike some other competitions winners!!
I dont think you necessarily have to live in NYC to play?? The part about going to the actual VZW Kiosk is for individuals who dont have vzw and/or cannot text. Any thoughts?
Storm Hunt starts tomorrow!!! I even took off work. This is going to be so much fun – Scavenger Hunt NYC!!
It starts today!! As soon as the map comes up I’m so on this…Storm Scavenger Hunt NYC!!
