Blackberry Bold now available at AT&T

The news you have all been waiting months for is finally here. Unleashed a few hours early, the Blackberry Bold is now available for sale on AT&T. We could pontificate about all the ups and downs of the past several months but we won’t — enough has been said.  So get on with some ordering and get yourself a little bit of that Bold action direct from AT&T’s website.

Thanks, Brandon!

It didn’t give me the discount until the last check out screen.

Maybe you could try acting like you’re going to buy it up until you have to commit just to make sure.

Did you add a line or just upgrade? I don’t need to add a line and I am eligible for an upgrade so I was going to do it with the Bold.

    I added a line. I can’t imagine that makes a difference.

If it does, just add a line and then cancel you original line next week.

If your up for an upgrade there shouldn’t be a fee for disconnecting it.

Are there any promotional codes out there that I can apply to a Bold online purchase? I’d really like to try and get my price down even just a few dollars? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else having trouble with GPS on the bold on AT&T network. I see a nav cpl service book in there. I wonder if you do not pay for the nav service if they now cripple gps from google maps or any other 3rd party app that can use the gps to sense location. Any thoughts!?!?

I spoke to a sales rep in the store and they said that the GPS only works with the att navigator.

You can still use BB maps to get directions, but you won’t get turn by turn directions.

Then he tried to push me onto the iPhone because he said that the turn by turn is included in the iPhone data package but not in the Bold’s.

Can you please explain how you got a $249.99 discount on the phone? I am a premier government employment, and I was told $399.99 was the best price with the $100.00 mail in rebate.

Did you get that deal through telesales or maybe there is a better promotion for your company?

Please, any help you can give is greatly appreciated. I configured the BOLD online, and the price was still $299.99 with the $25.00 standard discount.

BLAST! I switched my Verizon BB-8830 for the AT&T Bold this morning, and I don’t get a single bar of service in my office or in my house. I guess I’ll be taking advantage of the 30-day return policy and crawling back to VZW until they get the Bold… in six long months… Stupid sucky AT&T. I live in a major metro area!!

This is insane! AT&T has sent out an email disallowing anyone not eligible for an upgrade from getting the Bold! We can’t even buy it outright. The only way as of this afternoon is opening a new line. Verizon here I come! I’ll pay my ETF’s on AT&T just on general principle to leave this ridiculous network. No store in Las Vegas will sell it as of a couple hours ago unless upgrade eligible or opening a new line. Of course people who bought this morning got under the radar. I was told I was 20 min late. Furious.

After much thought I am going to follow up on my earlier post and return my Bold. No 3G in my house, so I may as well just use my laptop. I have a stand alone Garmin GPS, and the Bold’s GPS isn’t working with YellowPages or Beyond 411 apps. All of my old Pearl programs still work with it.
The media player is mind blowing, but the browser’s cursor was annoying. My point is for those who can, wait it out for a cheaper price ($430 here in GA)or wait for a more unique BB when the storm comes out.

Turn-By-Turn GPS is only if you activate TeleNav/ATT Navigator. You can use BB Maps or GoogleMaps with the GPS receiver (not crippled), but it will not give you voice guided TBT directions. I can assure you the iPhone does not have TBT directions as another poster added his ATT rep advised.

its okay, imo, but i will wait maybe 20 days for a eta on the blackberry 8900, if annouced, i may just exercise my return policy of up to 30 days, as it states on back of reciept. what do they take as a re-stock fee these days? 15% or 15$ ????? ty….

    BlackberryMAX says:

I have found the “stock” videos on the BOLD are choppy. OS is overall smooth, but the 3G is slow until a hard reboot. Only apps (great apps) will make me pay the early adopter price. There is the HTC FUZE we are ordreing next week, so I’m holding off. Damn that ibroke is lookin good.

I broke down and bought the Bold. It was after dinner when I just spent $200 on sushi that I decided that if I had that kind of cash to spend on dinner, I could spend $300 on a phone. And when work gives me a bb, I can have them buy me a Bold and I can return this one and get an iPhone.

Anyways, I downloaded a gps program for the Bold at wap.amazegps.com/

It has turn by turn directions. I don’t think it’s that intuitive, but it works.
