Some AT&T stores to sell Blackberry Bold tomorrow
We just got word that there are a few AT&T stores out there that have the Blackberry Bold in stock, and they might be selling them as soon as tomorrow! While it’s only two days before the official release date, we know that for some of you, it couldn’t be soon enough. One of our faithful readers chimed in letting us know they were able to play around with a Bold in store. At that location, they said they’d be selling them tomorrow, November 2nd. So, after calling around and seeing whether this was an isolated case, we’ve come to learn that there are some stores that are getting ready to dish out these BlackBerrys before the official release. Before you go waiting at AT&T’s doors before they open up, be sure to call your local store first to make sure they will be selling it. Remember, this is all at the manager’s discretion and not all stores will be offering them up. If your store isn’t selling until the 4th, check out our review of the Bold from this summer to get your appetite going and to temporarily satisfy your Bold cravings.

I don’t care about the hype of the phone. I just personally like the styling of it and the way the screen clicks. Not everyone is fond of it though.
Don’t get me wrong, the HTC Touch Pro looks really nice. My close friend has the Diamond and the screen is one of the best I’ve seen. The navigation works well too and it makes Windows Mobile look like it’s coming along nicely. Then again, that could be because of the faster processor. My friends been telling me that his Diamond has been starting to bug out a little though.
@Cameron: That’s because the Diamond is still just WinMo. The HTC interface is, as they say, lipstick on a pig.

@steeze Called some stores in Austin, TX. They are selling them tomorrow or sure. No luck in LA or SF Bay Area yet.
ya know, say what you want about the iPhone, but I’m posting from one right now… And I have to say, it’s pretty fuckin smooth. Not for everyone but, hell, I might pick one up… If the Bold is teh sux anyway… Pulling for RIM though. Anxiously awaiting my Bold.

Like stated already, AT&T will not be selling the Bold until the 4th.. We were given specific instructions not to sell them until the 4th or even have them on the sales floor at all.
Uh… I wrote that article where I said I thought VZW had the best voice/data coverage smart ass. It’s apparent you can’t comprehend anything you read, so maybe that’s why your comments make absolutely no sense. That’s probably also why your commenter name assumes you’re smarter than me and my elder — because you’re wiser, more experienced, and know more.
In regards to the launch party, I didn’t see anything that contradicted the liveblog from his comments, but it’s pretty difficult to juggle liveblogging with photos and text in addition to commenting on this post at the same time (something I’ve never seen any writer do before), so I’m guessing that’s where the discrepancy came from. Also, all he said was that first impressions on the screen quality was good. That had nothing to do with the laggyness and wacked accelerometer. Just take a look at what anyone else that attended said and they can tell you everything we reported was spot on. In it’s current state 3-4 weeks before release, the biggest and most hyped phone Verizon has ever released, is not yet ready for prime time. That is not good however way you slice it.
So thanks for adding a useful view point to the discussion.

@Evilhomer I know it’s a winmo phone but I’m saying the HTC interface + the faster processor has shown that the winmo buggy experience can be fixed but still isn’t perfect.

I’m pretty sure that the handle “Mangenius” is a nod to the coach of the New York Jets, Eric Mangini… One of the worst coaches in the NFL. So that should explain why he’s such a f*ckin moron. For any non-NFL fan, Mangini is the one who touched off “Spygate” (Google it) last year, so that dude must be a supreme douche…
I’ve beaten the drum for a long time about the personal attacks here. “mangenius,” if that really is your name, makes the classic personal, vulgar attack over nonsense. His brainless, base attack on Marc doesn’t even make sense. Not clever, not funny, not logical.
And “Evilhomer” (again probably not his real name), his comment (at least on this occasion) was right on point. Silly and stupid to make personal attacks on someone based on what kind of phone/computer they use.
That said, “Steeze” (again, is that really your name??) raises a good point: got any locations to back up those rumors?
This blog site has tortured us on the Bold rumors time and time and time again. Your Ninjas, your insiders, your sources aren’t worth shit. Do you, BG, or any of your writers, have any sense of chagrin or embarrassment for passing along information that has been patently wrong, time and again? I could list all the wrong rumors, but why? It’s all documented. And then we finally get close to the release date – which in the end wasn’t even advance info, my local guy told me about it well before I read it here, and you tantalize us with this Best Buy bullshit. Stupid fucks like me who are stupidly insane to get our hands on one of these much ballyhooed devices start hitting all our local Best Buys full of anticipation because your blogs tells us we might be able to get the Bold early there. Then it’s wrong and I get to feel like a douchebag when all the sales guys say “not till the 4th.” And exactly a week later, not one single Best Buy had a Bold available for early sale, did they?
And now here we are – this time just days from actual, we think, release and you’re yanking our collective chains again? Some stores, won’t tell us which of course, might be selling tomorrow. I call bullshit. I bet not one single ATT store will be selling tomorrow.
What’s next? On Monday night (the 3rd), you’re going to report that your vaunted ninjas, have informed you that “some att stores” might be opening their doors a few hours early in honor of the Bold release? Just one last chance to punk us?
Here’s what I think: I think this whole Bold release has put a shitload of egg on BG’s face personally. I think that his shoulder shrugging, don’t kill the messenger, cool facade notwithstanding, BG is deeply chagrined that his blog/predictions/insider info has been laughably wrong for months now. I further think that BG is not much at fault for any of these gaffes if at all. Obviously I don’t think BG is getting some devious enjoyment for fucking with his readers so much. It wasn’t intentional and all predictions made were made in good faith. But it was all bullshit. All of it. And while BG isn’t exactly responsible for the longest line of bullshit in recent memory, I do think we are entitled to a modest apology and a detailed explanation as to just what the fuck went wrong with all this incorrect information.

@Conrad A few stores in the Austin area are absolutely confirmed. Called them up personally after receiving a tip. Other stores, like in Pasadena, CA, would not deny or confirm but said, “We can’t say right now, but just come in tomorrow. Just come in.”

Yeah Central Cali is out of the question. We have 10 bolds showing up monday and tuesday. Knowing our managers that ain’t gonna fly off the shelves till Tuesday Morning.
