Vodafone announces BlackBerry Storm pricing
If there’s one thing we can say about the Storm pricing Vodafone announced earlier today, it’s that the company definitely provides a nice wide range of options for customers with varied budgets. Don’t expect the same options stateside people, it’s just not our style. Our friends across the pond who pre-order the device online will be happy to know that said orders will be fulfilled on or around November 11. Woo! So let’s talk pricing:
- £300 (US $495): 12-month contract, starting at £40/month
- FREE: 18-month contract, starting at £40/month
- FREE: 24-month contract, starting at £35/month
Wow. Not bad at all considering these are launch prices for one of the most highly-anticipated phones of the year. A free Storm with a two-year contract at $58/month? We’ll take two, thanks. Also of note, customers who snag a Best for Talk or Best for Text plan will enjoy free unlimited internet and email along with a free six-month trial of Vodafone’s Find&Go satellite navigation service.

I might have to move across the pond for a deal this good!
Seeing as how I sent this in Yesterday you’re kinda Late Zach because the pre-order site has even gone live already. I won’t bother sending it in cause it might appear tomorrow, lol jk. And isn’t it Vodafone…rather than Vodaphone?

I’m gonna have to go with they are getting one heck of a deal..
Now, if I could only get it that cheap with an employee plan.. lol
man america sucks …..so whos ready to move ? lol
@champ22: america sucks? More proof that Canada blows in terms of mobile hardware AND plan rates.
That’s sickening!
Whats the price looking like for the US?
Sweet pricing!
Vodafone Ireland seem to be offering very good value, follow the link below

Living in England and it seems an ok deal, but for you guys is it really that cheap!?
I wonder if you can use it as tethered modem on laptop, and get unlimited data?
@Champ22:
I’ve been ready!
I tried to get some details from customer support today, but they didn’t even know that it was listed on the website.
There is 1GB of email, IM & web access through the blackberry APN. Then there is also 1GB of data through the Vodafone Live! APN, this should be able to be used to connect a laptop, but they couldn’t confirm it.
Its rumoured to be launching on 10/11th November
Would like one, but silly to pre-order before any proper review or understanding of data price plan…
unless you’ve just won the euro lottery that is…
Am I reading this incorrectly, you USA guys seem to think it’s a good deal over here? The less than clear pricing plan for data is £1/day for 15Mb data, and £1/day for 15Mb web browsing plus the tariff.
If you get push email every day and browse every day (surely the point of a MID device?) for a 30 day month that’s gonna be around £100/month ($150).
If my reading is right I’m so disappointed I’ve been waiting for this phone for months.
Also rang Vodafone just now who couldn’t tell me anything about the Storm which will not be out now until December. the very nice lady started quoting me plans for existing Blackberries which I’m sure ae irrelevant here. BAH! Iphone for me unless they change these costs.
so £40 for 18 month contract including free web and email… unlimited texts and 600mins.
£720 overall then…
Just spoken to the reps at phones 4 u, and they say the phone will be out SATURDAY 8TH!
get your name down and you’ll be able to get your hands on one, if not to buy then at least to see what it looks like.
Released Saturday 8th November that is…
Flynn
Hope you’re right – my reading hasn’t changed yet (up to £100/month with email and browsing). I’d love someone to say I’ve got this wrong – Please! The Vodafone lady who told me December launch was given half a story maybe by a harassed Storm upgrade team on a Saturday.
Here’s hoping I’m a dope!
Mr pooter
If you have a blackberry email package plus a £7.50 unlimited data package you will not pay more than £7.50 on top of price plan
Thanks Nazrul, I did see that but wasn’t sure.
In this day and age images, music and video are the content people might want. Storm is advertised with the Lewis Hamilton advert for instance.
The £7.50 data addon buys you 120Mb per month NOT unlimited but certainly good enough for the occasional video and a several web pages per day (butn think how many you use just researching and buying an item on Amazon). Is email included in the basic tariff – it doesn’t look like it to me even though that’s what you’d expec of a Blackberry, but you may be right.
I still contend that £47.50 (or the risk of an unknown number of £1’s per day!) is nothing like as good a package as O2. I’m currently a Voda customer and would prefer the Storm for Video capture, decent camera, haptic screen but Iphones tariffs and head start on Applications is swaying me….
Hi
what’s the difference between unlimited web browsing and unlimited data? everytime you hit a web page you’ll be downloading data. I’d like them to be clear on that, maybe I’ll contact them. Plus email is unlimited too.
If we say this is unlimited data / web browse, then it is a better deal than iPhone at o2, which is only £35 a month however you have to pay for the phone at £160, so for 18 month contract that’s £790, where as Storm at Vodafone is £720 overall. Oh and the texts on the Storm are unlimited where on iPhone you get 500.
Obviously it’s worth checking out all the other tariffs on both phone’s as there’s probably something that’ll suit you better.
Now if it is unlimited data on Storm and the tethered modem works as they say it does, then for me it’s a no brainer, and I’ll pick one up next Saturday!
Nah if you read it it looks like weasel words on the Voda site to me, you can get unlimited data and web IF you pay the extra. I still emails are bundled either. Couldn’t get any sense out of ‘em when I rang – I’ll wait for the sales call to me but I have a bad feeing about this “deal”
I think you’re safe with the unlimited mobile web and email.
I’m only holding back as I’ve not even seen one of these…. although i’m confident blackberry will pull it off..
seeing as hamilton is now world champion and he’s got one… it’s making evern more keen
Rang Voda today. Details are sparse they say, but the £40 includes 500Mb per month data and web, and the handset will be released on the 11th Nov. As an upgrader I may pay less per month than that, but I will be required to contribute to the handset cost.
The different channels (eg upgrade sales vs website) offer such different information!
but I have my fingers crossed!
Really, who knows
