Bold now $199.99 in Canada, AT&T customers cry
When the BlackBerry Bold first went on sale in Canada it retailed at the outrageous price of $399.99 on a 3-year contract. Despite eventually dropping in price to $299.99, many Canadians still weren’t satisfied with how much they were being asked to pay. Now Best Buy has stepped up the plate and is making an offer that officially nullifies any Bold price-related complaints. From now until November 27, Best Buy will not only be selling the Bold for for $199.99 but they will also be giving away a $50 gift card. That’s hard to argue with, especially since the holidays are coming up and chances are that there’s someone your shopping list who would make a fine future-Bold owner.

I have been waiting for this phone for months. But there is no way I will pay $400 and wait for a rebate. $199, no problem.
The previously announced US pricing plan is not going to hold up for long - and I don’t need any secret ninjas to tell me that

I’m calling bullshit on the Nov. 4th release date. Wtf, release date a few days away and no promos? No ads? Sounds like bullshit!
The only thing I have to look forward to is Call of Duty 5.

I work for At&t, and you guys must not realize much that the ONLY phone that had advertising BEFORE it’s launch date, was the iphone. So yes, it makes perfect sense we don’t have any material or ads on it.

@Swoyekr, RIM doesn’t control the price of the devies from carriers or stores (This is what I have heard).
@ShadyManny, It was on the earnings call, AT&T said it would be out the 4th. Also stores are starting to get shipments of Bolds so they can sell them on the 4th.

It will be $199 here in the states by the latest December!
People just are not spending, even those who can, won’t! Times are just to unpredictable right now! at&t has balls, the iphone has been $199 from jump street! They should just follow that price point, and give the public a much needed incentive to pick the Bold up.

Ouch, that hurts… I definitely could have waited the mere 2 months to save myself $250.
What a joke.

Agreed. However, their phones are the ones involved so i’ll boycott them as well out of spite. hahaha

Buy Canadian, hook up with AT&T and then cancel the contract. What are they going to do, mess up your credit report? Not across international borders - they don’t use SS#’s up there.

Any idea how long the AT&T contract for exclusivity with the Bold is? Will TMO ever get their hands on it?

Well Well Well… I guess we are NOw coming to our senses. The hype leading u to this release, has in the least, created an appetite way beyond reason. When the Bold purchasers’ that MUST have the latest and greatest as soon as it’s out, discover that 299.00 or whatever is for a 2 YEAR commitment with spotty service and real expensive Blackberry - AT&T pricing (Hey Guys!!! This is not just a phone.) The rest will stay away in droves. Vodafone’s pricing reflects the reality of our global economy and swift changes taking place in technology. Here’s an idea, why do we not merge the technology of Amazon’s Kindle with a smartphone and get all we need for NO MONTHL:Y FEE? It’s here, but no one is paying attention.

My apologies for the typos in my previous posting. I will try not to be too emotional when I submit my rants. BTW, any idea on how to obtain a Vodafone B-Bold? I would like a London number - for my Euro-Trips; but Vodafone is difficult to deal with stateside - without interference from VeriShun.
