Nokia E63 makes it debut at the Symbian smartphone show
The Nokia E63 made a surprise public debut at the Symbian smartphone show last week. Labeled Exx in the photos, the E63 gets snagged next to the E71. Looking very much like its older brother, the E63 sports a black coat of paint, instead of the red we previously saw, and a condensed keyboard that fits 8 keys and a mini space bar across the bottom. With such a polished looking production model hitting the scene, a formal announcement should be right around the corner. Hit the jump for a close up picture.

That’s hot…I want it next to my iPhone.
Nice and greasy.
can’t wait to find out more about this one. I like the keyboard improvement.
Looks alot like the Blackberry Bold to me….
The Mobile Industry review team also got it on video here: http://www.mobileindustryreview.com/2008/10/mir_show_-_week_43_-_nokia_e63_deviceanywhere_offer.html

@Jay: No it’s way more plastic. The finish is worlds apart.
@JAY, hmm you sure? Looks more like an e62 successor, or black version of the e71….
As the model number still says Exx, I still don’t think it’s going to be called the E63.
@BEN….hmm they said its thicker….hmmm..more goodies inside? i hope it fixes whats wrong with the e71
@Ben: and the Bold isn’t? Even the “chrome” is plastic on the Bold.
Why do you think the announcement is ‘right around the corner’, Kelly? Please remember that the N95 was leaked in May and was not announced until September. The E71 was also leaked many, many months before official announcement.
Just because you’re seeing live pics doesn’t mean the announcement is coming any time soon.
@zephxiii: There wasn’t visibly much more inside. The battery space looks like the E71 albeit with a more simple, less contoured back. Taks a look at the video I linked above for more.
@kansei: I’ve not got a lot of hands-on with the Bold, but the E63’s plastic is, well, very plastic. I even asked at the time if the case was really production-state or some kind of dummy.
more keys on the keyboard???..jesus.
I can barely type on the e71 and if it wouldn’t be for the amazing T-9 than it be a throw away phone only because of the tiny keyboard. I wanna see how i’m gonna type in -20*C weather on the e71.
nothing to see here. only a prototype. You could play with the samsung i450 prototype 8 months before it was in production. i’m not waiting any longer. I will buy the E71 next week.
