Blackberry Bold makes an appearance on Best Buy website
More Bold news for those of you are anxiously waiting for RIM’s newest (though not so new globally) smartphone. The Bold has appeared on BestBuy.com and is going for a whopping $679.99 contract-free. Would any of you actually pay that? It’s likely going to cost less on AT&T without a contract, and of course only $299.99 with a 2-year inked deal. After doing some digging around, we’ve learned that some stores will likely be getting them in on the 29th at the soonest even though it popped up in their systems on October 26, the date we threw out there a few weeks ago. Over the weekend several of our tipsters told us the Bold had already landed in Best Buy stores, but it looks like not all locations received shipments and only few actually have floor demos. Still, if you can’t wait until November 4 you can probably snag one at your local Best Buy before week’s end!
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

“We will have Obama in office and I will have my brand new Blackberry Bold in my hands. I mean if John McClane dies and leaves Palin in office we are fucked. The only good thing she is good for is giving us American’s something to look at while we whack off.”

LMFAO……..holy crap………..you guys really make me laugh……
Seriously?? I asked this question about a month ago…
is this phone still relevant?
Instead of “spreading the wealth” as Obama would say… he should say “SPREAD your CHEEKS”, because we all are *ucked if he is elected.
It is already available @ Best Buy in Kennesaw, GA. It was there Sunday, when I bought a Touch Pro (which rocks, by the way!)
What are you talking about NO_OBAMA, If we have McSame in the white house we are f*cked. I dont know how you can still be a republican after you see how the past 8 years Under DubYa(W) have been.
America needs change not McSame! So vote for Obama/Biden’08
have you guys checked the bestbuy website since its turned midnight, now all my local stores have the bold in stock, it went from unavailable to add to cart and pick up in store available
Same here, all local Bestbuys in Las Vegas, NV show available stock on the Blackberry Bold. I am not sure for almost $700.00 though. That is quite a lot of money.
im going to be BOLD tomorrow
This is fucking bull…….$700.00 for this piece of shit……lol…..I want a BOLD more than anyone…is anyone going to buy at that price?????????
i never got this. i sold for AT&T for two years and quit recently.
buy the phone for 300…cancel the contract two days later and pay the $175 ETF = $475 you paid for the phone. why would you EVER pay $680?
This is NOT AN ILLEGAL MOVE! I used to tell people to do it all the time. It works. It is their policy. The ETF is pretty much a safeguard for the investment they made in subsidizing the phone for you. take advantage and screw them over.
The Bold price is down to $659 on Bestbuy.com.
Bargain!
@Ryan… so every phone at&t subsidizes is not discounted more than $175?
Ryan that’s a smart idea…never thought of that. I wonder how really relevant is this phone after the 8 month delay and its ridiculous price. I mean might as well have just gotten the iPhone since as soon as AT&T releases it NO_OBAMA is going to be right. The entire network is going to be down and there’ll be no point to either phone, lol.
He is wrong on the voting for McCain nonsense though. With all the defections by all these major republicans to Obama’s side, plus the in-fighting over stupid reasons like Palin’s wardrobe I’ll quit visiting BGR if McCain wins. A McCain aid just called Palin a “diva” so if that’s not an indication of where the election is headed then I don’t know where you guys have been.
The sad part is there are “not so smart people” that will spend $700 on this phone…
Why I ask.. Dear god why? You’ve waited how many months for this brick in the wall? What’s another week or so?
Just keep it in your pants and get it on AT&T… OR switch to Verizon and get the STORM!!!
Hey BG, will AT&T stores have Bold accessories on hand when they release it next week, (skins, screen protectors).
yeah. back in the day we subsidized phones $75 for a one year contract and 150 for a two year. the whole purpose of the early termination fee is that they have given you the phone for such a low price, that they are going to make their money back plus more ONLY if you stay with the company for long enough. Cellphone 101.
This is why I never got the no-commitment prices that were more than $175 above the two year contract price. if you can pass the credit check, start the account, and hang on to it for no less than 30 days, then the return policy is up and you can just cancel the contract….bam.
so go ahead, get the lowest rate plan and the most expensive phone. then cancel. booyah. i always encouraged customers to do that. i was also the WORST salesmen in the world so i quit and went to law school.
woot.
@AlbertWesker
Hey bud; John McClane is actually the guy from Die Hard, not the presidential runner-up… Ouch.
Anyway; Go RIM, !#^%&!!!! At&T
Any AT&T CORPORATE stores in Greater LOS ANGELES that will be able to sell one before 10/31???
Thanks!
Ok, I’m not sure where the $299 came from for the price of the phone, but the new Best Buy Mobile buyer’s guide shows the Bold for $399.99
These guides are in store, so just pick one up. BOTH sections where they have the Bold are showed at $399.99 for a NEW 2yr.
Here is how it is listed…
2yr New Plan and Line
Rate Plan Below $65.00 $399.99
Rate Plan Above $65.00 $399.99
2yr Upgrade Price $419.99
Regular Price $659.99
Now if it is $299 then there is either a miss-print in the buyer’s guide, or people have the wrong information.
The only other way to tell is to see if the tag in store states $299.99
At the Best Buy store here in Mesquite, TX the Bold has a retail price of $679
2 year upgrade price $349
2 year new plan/line $299 with a plan above $65.00.
Hey Hey Hey … What do we have here.. Speaking about automobiles, You heard about the Electric Car?
