AT&T BlackBerry Bolds in stock at Best Buy, go on sale tomorrow?

We’ve got a bunch of tips on this so we’re going to run with it. Just a word of caution? We haven’t confirmed this ourselves yet, but we have ever reason to believe our ever-faithful tipsters. If they are correct, various Best Buy locations have already started receiving shipments of AT&T BlackBerry Bolds and they are allowed to start selling them tomorrow. We even heard demo models are out on the floor at some stores. Now for pricing… We’re told the Bolds are going for $349 with a 2-year agreement at Best Buy (?) and that the full retail pricing is $679.99. Some stores will only sell them at no-commitment pricing it seems. If you’re in the tri-state area, chances are you’re feeling some pretty heavy winds, but that’s not going to hold you back from setting up shop at your local Best Buy and braving it out until the morning is it?
Thanks, to everyone who hit us up!

@Duvi
Checking Bold…. now. Nope. At least .167 let’s you still select 2G, 3G, or both. Hope that helps.
BG: I think the network options are only selectable on unlocked devices or earlier AT&T branded devices. From what I have seen on the recent AT&T devices that were handed out at the launch party they do not have the option all though my unlocked Bold on the AT&T network does.
I think it may be something determined by the vendorID in the latest OS’ so I’m sure a fix will come down the road.
@Greedy
Hmm… not a bad point. Doesn’t really make sense (forcing no 2G only), but ok, thanks!
350 for the Bold? I like BB’s, but not at that price. 200 for the iPhone and 350 for the Bold…unreal.
Yeah although it doesn’t surprise me seeing I remember when developing for the windows mobile platform that they did the same thing by disabling the menu option via a provisional xml file. So I wouldn’t put it past them.
I’m sure once it is released to the general public and there is a greater concern that it will be dug deeper into. Until then I see it as my device has it so it isn’t a concern for me.
I would have liked to see pricing at 249 with 2 year on this phone from at&t.
First Apple not lowering/ raising prices on their macbooks and now a 650 blackberry.
I hope these guys know what they’re doing in this enviorment.
Actually 199 on 2 year to at least compete with iphone.
You can’t compare the bold to the iPhone in terms of pricing. There are 2 different target demographics. I feel that the $299 or in Best Buy’s case $349 is a fair price for all that is being offered from a BlackBerry.
I paid $750 for mine and I find it justifiable mainly based on the extent that the bold has evolved from the 83XX and 88XX series alone to become what it has.
I have an iPhone 3g as well but is used primarily as an mp3 player now. If it is in your price range I say go for it because it is everything you have come to expect from a BlackBerry and more.
I thought the Bold retail price is $550. How come it’s priced $679 for BestBuy? That’s such a ripp =/
@HiitzDennis
Best Buy historically rapes you with full retail pricing.
The Touch Pro has been available for purchase at $229 here in Greeley, CO since Friday; and the Bold was on display tonight without a price tag. But as most of us know with a Display model usually comes actual stock- although I will say that I played with the Bold’s keyboard and the keys are pretty small. Just sayin’….
Also I saw a user with the 2g, 3g or 2g/3g options. There phone isn’t AT&T branded though, but using it on AT&T.
I wish I could edit, but here is a link to a picture w/ the AT&T production models.

@HiitzDennis I don’t think that will be AT&T’s retail store price.
I was messing with the Touch Pro today as my ex’s store has it. It’s out in certain places. They aren’t selling until November in that store though. My ex is getting that as her device of choice.
@Duvi
I haven’t read the previous posts, but check your OS. If you need the latest (.167 now) from AT&, try this:

The link will take you to the BlackBerry form for AT&T’s Bold 4.6 OS
I can’t wait till the Bold comes out on the 4th. I’m going to wait for the cheaper price though through AT&T.
Not really sure why everyb ody is complaing about the $350 price tag. I work for AT&T in the national retail side (Best Buy, walmart, costco etc) and 350 is a deal.
Why? Best Buy does not do rebates, does not make you sign up for data to GET the rebate, and also does not tax on full retail, so you get taxed on $350. AT&T will say 299 after rebate ( which you can only get IF you sign up for data AND tax you on full retail. Best Buy sets their own pricing to be competitve with AT&T and mafority of the time itd usually cheaper than COR (Company Owned Retail).
Yes Best Buy rips people with full retail but really their cell phone department has killer deals sometimes that can’t be beat. I work for AT&T and I would never tell any of my customers to walk into COR.
They are 399 for new contracts and 419 for extensions. Go to the store locator on their site, then choose weekly ad. On the far right is mobile, go to page 6
The Best Buy in CT had Bold cases but no Bold on display.
Don’t forget that Best Buy has 20% off most smartphones (excludes iphone and unlocked) if you’re in their Rewards Zone (free) membership club.

I work at a best buy and we don’t have em stock yet but we do have a mock out on the floor so we should be gettin it soon
Provided they take this off the 2-yr agreement and not retail price the Bold would sit at $280!
I checked our local Best Buy last night (Saturday) and they did not have any in stock, nor on order, nor did any other local stores, or even the warehouse (I saw the inventory screen when he brought up the item #, it looked like a list of 12-20 stores, all with “0″ for quantity on hand, etc.). I’m in central Tennessee, so at least in this part of the country we’re being left out of this pre-release release.
Ok, my apologies for all the consecutive postings. I did a little more digging. I am actually in the “Weekly Ads” section of the BestBuy site. I see the Bold but it goes for $399 from 26 October thru 22 November.
SKU: 9062382
On BestBuy Site:
Weekly Ads on top/Browse Ads by Category/Phones & Office/Browse Ads by Brand/BlackBerry… the scroll down and you will see the Bold. $399 = Thieves!
