Official shots of AT&T’s BlackBerry 8320 Curve
Another day, another delayed BlackBerry for AT&T. It’s been a while since we last posted about AT&T’s 8320 and the scheduled release has come and gone. We all know it was slated for launch toward the end of September but AT&T and RIM seem to be like oil and water these days when it comes to getting a product out to market. Here we are with October almost behind us and still no 8320. Whatever the cause of the delay might be, it looks like we’re getting closer to go time as a little birdy just dropped some official AT&T shots on our doorstep. If you’re on AT&T and the pricing on the Bold is enough to scare you off but WiFi is a must, hopefully you’ll soon have a decent backup option in the Sapphire Blue 8320 Curve. I like the color but I wait for Bold
Me likey, but the Bold is oh-so-much-hotter. The new color is pretty sweet, though… hope it’s got the OS update the TMO 8320 got.

I was gunning for a curve, but now that the bolds close to release there’s no way i’d pay more than 100 for it. Its in a new color.. wooo . The red still looks the best.

what is the point of having wifi with ATT? Can you talk over the wifi like you can on tmobile?
Which red though? I like the Burgundy and all, but if I were to change from my awesome Titanium color, I’d get the Sunset.
I was considering ordering this sapphire blue housing , but then I found out that AT&T was picking it up, so that idea’s out the window.
How lame that it took AT&T this long to get the same Curve that’s been on T-Mobile since September or so of last year. Fine, only on Monday was I finally able to record video, but still, considering that the T-Mobile Curve is also UMA-enabled, this one is still inferior. Just goes to show how ridiculous AT&T is.

It’s just a curve. Anything different from the last one? All this excitement from the same people who laugh at the CDMA carriers for releasing “year-old” phones.

I just really can’t see the point of AT&T offering this. If you can get WiFi, who’s going to pay for the BB personal feature? No 3G, its becoming standard operating procedure these days. Even the pitiful cheap-o Samsungs that came out this week have it.
The wifi is great for people using an intranet on a secure wifi OR with blackberrys you have the ability of running both voice and data at the same time over wifi. Which would be a huge benefit if you spend all day doing conf calls and still want to receive your Blackberry Messenger alerts/emails.
Not a lot of people want to spend that much on a Bold or don’t need 3G speeds. It’s just personal preference and they are trying to attract all market shares
You are asking the right question, and the answer is no. The whole point of WiFi on a cell phone is to run the phone calls over it, which T-Mobile does using UMA software. AT&T has thus far completely missed the point on this most basic argument.
point of wifi on cell is data. UMA is secondary to most users. atleast to people i know.
Simple case of “too little, too late”…
As far as data over WiFi is concerned, it makes at best very little difference over EDGE (which is what the 8320 is). Side-by-side comparisons show essentially zero difference. Basically the difference is there only when EDGE coverage goes to zero or near-zero. However, where there is a huge difference in quality is with voice, where WiFi will give you fantastic coverage — at the price of unlimited use for $10/month — where EDGE coverage may be very poor or none.xistent. Even where EDGE coverage is good, you can still hear the difference (in WiFi’s favor). In other words, with UMA you can do without a landline phone at home. Without it, you will still want a landline at home in order to have flawless call quality
