AT&T BlackBerry Bold receives Technical Acceptance; Nov 4 launch, $300

We’ll get right to the point on this one. One of our sources notified us last night that as of 6:00 PM EST yesterday, the BlackBerry Bold has officially received Technical Acceptance from Big Blue, meaning the handset has been approved for sale by the phone gods of AT&T. Typically, TA means the handset is about two weeks from launching but we had our fingers crossed that AT&T would somehow be fast-tracking the release since the Bold has already been delayed so many times. Unfortunately it doesn’t look that that will be the case. Word is coming in now that AT&T has officially stated on this morning’s earnings call, that the Bold will be released on November 4th. We still have it on pretty good authority that October 27th was intended to be the date – looks like AT&T and RIM just had to keep the tradition of delays alive one last time before launch.
UPDATE: This just in – $300 price point yall! (Thanks Carlos)

Love the picture.
i can’t wait for this device…move over iphone
Did anyone think that AT&T would launch this after the storm?
I dont think there was anyway the phone would fail the process short of it catching fire in the middle of a text message
Surprisingly, BGR gets the launch date wrong – again.
Bah! I’m over it. Forget the Bold, forget the Storm, forget RIM!
Does anyone care about it anymore?
It’s an old phone.
They’re trying to push it out before the Storm I guess but by Abhishek’s comment it seems a little too late.
don’t care, old news. Is Orange selling it again?
For realz who cares….I’m trying to see which I need to get…e71, e72, e73, or e75…
The olny way a Bold will make it in my hands will be if its for cheap-really cheap! I’m outta contract with Big Blue and options are wide open. Bring on the dancing girls!
November 4th…. at&t store, here I come.
Can we stop with the release dates that you can’t get right and no one else can for that matter. When it comes, it comes…big deal. It’s nothing special anyways
I think I’m going to skip the bold. I don’t use the browser on my BlackBerry. HTML E-mails would be nice – but my BES would have to support that and they may release an update for the curve anyway. Sorry RIM, you cut too many corners.
If Orange are selling it again I wonder if I’ll get my BGR Bold Prize

official press release
“We still have it on pretty good authority that October 27th was intended to be the date – looks like AT&T and RIM just had to keep the tradition of delays alive one last time before launch”
I don’t get what you are saying there? Because AT&T and RIM aren’t making YOUR launch date you are going to chalk another one up in the delay category? I love how BGR makes them being wrong into the fault of AT&T and RIM.
november 4th has been confirmed.
there was just a press release from RIM.
$299 W/2year contract… I was hoping for less but i guess i will just have to deal
rim stock up 3% so far
From what i’ve seen of the UK Vodafone version its been worth the wait certainly a step up from the 8800/Curve and fast and pretty stable and if you prefer key’s over touch screen its got to be the best Corp mail device around.
engadget posted that it will be $299.99 with 2 year agreement
@Big: BG isn’t Nostradamus here. He’s not ‘predicting’ the launch dates. He gets inside information saying X is the launch date. The company has a delay and then plans for Y release date, BG gets that information and reports it.
These are ‘Target’ dates, they are not firm. The Company (in this case AT&T) plans to shoot for such a date. If it isn’t ready, they make a new target date.
It’s a fucking cellphone, not a cure for cancer.
Thank you MadMike…my sentiments exactly.
People take this shit waaayyyy too seriously…
Okay that AT&T press release is more reassuring. I might have a “doctor’s appointment” that morning lol.
maybe the Bold is the cure?
Insider sources are stating that AT&T will continually change the release date just to ensure BGR doesn’t post the correct date!!
This is a fact people… AT&T will never release it on the date BGR reports as this would lead to more traffic to their site and something they clearly want to diminish.
