The honeymoon is over; PSP-3000 display issues galore
Ahh, the PSP-3000. The gorgeous bright display we’ve been lusting over is now out in wild and just waiting to show you games and movies with stunning and vivid clarity. Right? Umm, not so much it would seem. Early adopters are reporting horrible interlacing issues during both game play and video playback. As seen pretty clearly in the image above, movement is basically death to the PSP-3000 display. Jagged edges, scan lines and insane pixelation spoil the honeymoon pretty quickly and are resulting in some pretty pissed gamers. Apparently disabling the Wide Color Space option helps to some extent but it doesn’t eliminate the issue completely. The worst part? Sony has reportedly confirmed the issue, claimed it is in fact not an issue at all and stated that it will not be addressed in any software updates as it is a hardware matter. Mmm. PSP-4000 anyone?

Damn…I was really considering picking one up. Well that won’t be happening now
Sony said it is supposed to look like this.. I believe them.
Wow that sucks…
Interlacing is sooo 90s
I’d like to see some HD vids on this first
Well I was at first a bit jealous they updated the screen seeing as how I just bought a PSP 2000 a few months ago but wow the reasons NOT to buy the 3000 just keep adding up.
Who cares about video playback or games with motion? I want to use my psp 3000 to display still images only. There. Problem solved.
Im confused, so Sony is saying its supposed to look like that? So they made it look that, even though anybody can tell it looks crappy. Yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense.
And from the pic above, there was the same problem in the PSP-2000 too? I don’t have a PSP so I have no clue.

What a shame. And to think that I just read a post earlier praising the new display.
