HTC Touch HD Pro in the works?
If the HTC Touch HD met the Touch Pro and the sweet touch screen was accompanied by that sweet keyboard, you’d have one hell of a device. Don’t hold your breath, though, because it’s just a rumor right now. We already know that the Touch HD, with a wicked 3.8″ WVGA 800 x 480 touch screen isn’t officially coming to the U.S. We’re also going to be missing out on that 5MP autofocus camera and 3G goodness from the device whose screen blows the iPhone’s screen out of the water. It’s probably not too far-fetched, or maybe HTC will come up with something similar, but for now combining the two would make one thick, hefty device. What do you guys prefer – the touch screen on the HD or having the convenience of the keyboard like the Touch Pro? Can’t we have the best of both worlds?

True, it’s a rumor. Or maybe more like wishful thinking, for all of us who got their hopes up for an Touch HD here in NA. However, watching the HTC twitter stream also results in wishful thinking — like this one recently (4 days ago):
htc: @scoopthree i thought the seattle crew wanted to wait for a certain unannounced device. i’ve been holding off because of that.

Regardless — my Hermes is getting a bit long in the tooth, and I wants me a new HTC!
@teneight: That’s why there is a question mark at the end dummy.
Pack it with WinMo 6.1 or 7, slap a CDMA chip in there and I’ll take it, now.
Sold… don’t care what it costs… that is thee perfect phone.
Given the 3.8″ size, I think I’d rather have a one-handed usable keyboard that slid up from the bottom (rather than out the side). It should be wide enough to make one this way and have enough key spacing. The advantage is that you’re sliding much less of the phone so it can be thinner because more than half the length of the phone is never exposed.
I’ll Shat My Shorts if this comes out!
Long live the HD!
this looks awesome, but it does have a few prblems. for one thing, if you look at the picture the keyboard would not be able to fit back under the phone because it is too big. second, i can guarantee you this was photoshopped
If HTC made this device – I would buy it with no second thoughts.
Build it and they will come–Sell it and I will buy.
Gotta have a keyboard with the HTC HD or any phone if you do any kind of serious email or texting. Must.
I would certainly love to see this type of device, but in all honesty, pricing for this thing is likely going to rival mid range laptops. And that scares me, seeing as there’s talk about AT&T introducing the HD (or a similar varient) starting at 1100 to 1200 sans contract. Orange already sells the thing over in the UK for 549 pounds sterling (about 980 CAD) and thats without a contract. Getting one of these is going to set me back a ton of money, but hey, I see it as worth it all the way. The problem is, there IS a point at which the device will cross a line of affordability whereby few people will be able to get it, and hence it will impact the bottom line of HTC in order to produce it. That’s why I think they scaled back on the features and the like for the Touch 3G and the Touch Viva. They need to back off before they haul out their entire bag of tricks, and it becomes expected as standard from them.
I LOVE my Mogul since I can’t IM and text message comfortably without a keyboard. I can remember when I had the Mr. Cartoon Sidekick II just for the comfort of Yahoo messaging with a keyboard. When I was looking for an all in one phone and I saw the HTC Mogul, I was sold! Although I love my Mogul, I wish it had more RAM. If HTC releases a version of the HTC Touch HD with a keyboard, I will definately upgrade!
What the hell people This is just a rumour there is no way htc is going to make it.
This phone will be really big and thick if they add QWERTY
HTC cannot take a risk
If they make this one it would be more expensive and due to the size of it people might not buy it thinking it unpocketable.
It looks good if the thickness would stays the same as htc touch hd.
Anyway i hope they wont realese this
It will ruin it
thats why the is a freaking question mark idiot. So it forms a sort of question. Saying HTC touch HD Pro in the works? is like saying Could the HTC touch HD pro be in the works? FUck some people are so thick.
yeah, this phone looks pretty sweet, only issue is the damn qualcomm processor they put in these things. I have a four year old palm treo that is faster than my touch pro could ever hope to be qualcomm sucks a$$.
