T-Mobile Blackberry Curve gets 4.5 update… oh yeah!
It’s been a long time comin’ but it’s finally here: Your Curve 8320 on T-Mobile can now have its OS updated via T-Mobile’s website. W00t! For a device that is supposed to be an “email powerhouse,” it’s amazing that it has lacked html support for so long. Well, now it can finally start living up to its reputation for being an email sanctuary with this new update. Other key features include:
- Video recording and HTML e-mail formatting
- Attachment download and editing
- myFaves 1.5 (NO idea what this is)
- Enhancements and stability improvements to Wireless Network interaction, UMA, Messaging, Media Player, Web Browser, Phone application, Bluetooth Technology, and more.
- GSM/Edge Toggle
So, if you TMO users were feeling a little jilted with the lack of Bold coming or still waiting for the Curve 8900, your phone may feel a little better or at least refreshed with this sweet new update.

good for you all you BB T-mobile users… funny I don’t know any.
Does anyone know when 4.5 is going to hit ATT?

MyFaves 1.5 is an update to MyFaves that gives you more icons and can let you design your own icons online, IIRC

WTF, you stole this article from TMoNews almost word for word including the graphic. And it’s a lame graphic, at that.
Look at the graphic, the bullet point list, and the timestamps here and here: http://tmonews.com/2008/10/blackberry-curve-finally-receives-45-software-update/
You couldn’t be bothered to at least rewrite a few words and get your own image? WTF?
New blogs like TMo are fighting for views, and big fat lazy ass BGR pulls this shit?
Y’all SUCK

@jj50 they fight for views? We sourced them and their image. Tell me that won’t get them shitload of hits.

I have an unlocked vodafone 8300 that i use on tmobile. Will that work for the update as well?

How was tmonews.com sourced?
“[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]” is an obvious lie to cover up the site this little news blurb was obviously copying from.
show some journalistic integrity. I have no respect for blogs that pull stunts like this. Same image and bulletpoints, even the tmonews author’s obviously little personal anectdote next to myfaves 1.5….

When will this come out for the 8100 users?

nope, gotta be an T-Mo 8320. every providers BB has different firmware. AT&T’s 8320 is different then T-Mobz, and they are both 8320’s.

This update just bricked my phone… I hope it can restore to defaults. The newer Desktop Manager is screwing me up.

hey,
i think BGR always posts all the news after one sees it on Engadget, tmonews, etc….
I lost hope long time ago….and this is just another low level of their low self esteem….
Shame on you….

I know I’m late to the party, but u can count me in at 3 BB’s on T-Mo….why? Cause AT&T sucks, plain and simple. Been there done that…
@AJC -
“thanks for keeping Ebonics alive⦔
Maybe u wanna check out some of the main man’s posts (BG himself) as this linguistic form is frequently used on the site u racist prick. It’s kind of what keeps the place from becoming an elitist snob’s wet dream….
And for anyone hating, BGR is the one we all go to for our info, and is the reason I know that I can finally update my 8320, so thanks for posting this. Now, feel free to flame away!

So is anyone going to actually post about the upgrade? Seriously…

I, too, have a BB on T-Mobile. Why would I pay more for the same thing with AT&T? I just got the upgrade. The browser has mouselike arrow on screen that you can move in all directions. The MyFaves are a bit different (you can add details like birthday and anniversary), I haven’t tried the video yet. Still testing the other features.

Blah Blah Blah, Someone let me know how this updgrade is. How long it takes, and what new bugs come with? My boss has VZW, and is jealous they haven’t released their version yet, even thought he got an internal memo stating it would be done on or around the 10th of this month. HAHAHAHAHA.
