T-Mobile Blackberry Curve gets 4.5 update… oh yeah!
It’s been a long time comin’ but it’s finally here: Your Curve 8320 on T-Mobile can now have its OS updated via T-Mobile’s website. W00t! For a device that is supposed to be an “email powerhouse,” it’s amazing that it has lacked html support for so long. Well, now it can finally start living up to its reputation for being an email sanctuary with this new update. Other key features include:
- Video recording and HTML e-mail formatting
- Attachment download and editing
- myFaves 1.5 (NO idea what this is)
- Enhancements and stability improvements to Wireless Network interaction, UMA, Messaging, Media Player, Web Browser, Phone application, Bluetooth Technology, and more.
- GSM/Edge Toggle
So, if you TMO users were feeling a little jilted with the lack of Bold coming or still waiting for the Curve 8900, your phone may feel a little better or at least refreshed with this sweet new update.

You should try the one that users at eveek are using I did and it works GREAT no more waiting 3 mins for the internet to refresh,I would and have recommended it to all.
** BEWARE **
My co-workers and I all installed the OS over a week ago and have been having significant power/battery drainage problems. We have all had to charge our phones A LOT more and my phone powers down during calls last more than 5 minutes.
Anyone else having power/battery problems since downloading the upgrade (more like a downgrade)?
In addition to the battery issues, i also have had bluetooth and ringer issues since the update. I now have difficulty pairing and often have to power the phone on and off to get it to accept pairing from my earpiece. With the ringer, i’ve changed the ringer about 12 times for one contact and it always reverts to the original ringer
I need to knw if anyone knows how to make my AIM, yahoo and MSN messenger work without having to pay the 20 dollars a month for the internet,
I was told that it should work just with the t-zones and my unlimited text message package, But I called t mobile and they say that I have to have the internet plan on it in order for it to work, that apperently the aims services cannot work on the new blackberry just with the text and tzones,
so, Unless I pay the 20 dollars for internet and 15 more for unlimited texts, I am not able to log on to my aims
does anyone knows how to make those services work with jsut t zones and the texts messages, just like on the blackberry pearl?
thank you all.
Ahh…the magic of Plagarism.
A great upgrade – almost like getting a new phone. Only one problem has been the dismal battery life since the 4.5 upgrade. Bought a new battery with no change in battery life. Spoke with TMO and they suggested another download, with no change on the battery issue. Last phone call they suggested possibly a new phone. I can’t believe that it is a coincidence that the battery problem started the same day as the 4.5 upgrade. Any answers out there ?
Nope, no coincidence on the battery usage problems. Ever since I have changed to the 4.5 upgrade I have been having to charge my phone a lot. Just during the superbowl, with no calls.. so only in standby mode, it went down 1/3 of the battery indicator.
What does the new update have running that doesn’t need to be sucking power?
