Future Shops sells BlackBerry 8220 Pearl Flip for $49.99
Looks like the rumor of a dirt cheap Rogers BlackBerry 8220 Pearl Flip from a few months ago was true after all. Despite no official announcement of pricing or release, Canada’s Future Shop has listed the device as for sale “in-store only” for $49 on a 3-year contract. While stores across Canada are reporting that no 8220s are in stock, it is expected that the official go head from Rogers will come soon, possibly as early as Tuesday. At the same time, the recently rumored pink Pearl Flip was also confirmed making the device available in both pink and black. The only question left is whether or not some people at Future Shop are going to lose their job for the continuous stream of pre-announcement sales and leaks they’ve been having over the past year.
Tried the phone out at a TMO store. Not impressed at all.

To, me, the only question left is whether or not some folks at the BGR are going to lose their job for the continual posting of racial slurs. Yes, Michael, a slur against Chinese is racism.

If you want to set your values by what is said in a movie, well, movies often use the “n” word. If Michael had taken a parody of a movie with the “n” word, let’s say he’d written “what’s up, n***”, it would be just as offensive as this is.
This is just a sordid attempt to use slanderous racial humor for a quick laugh. It doesn’t belong on a site like this, in my opinion.

Seriously guys, it’s from a “Full Metal Jacket,” calm down. You have to take it as it is–a movie quote. It was not meant as an offensive quote, nor should it be taken as one. I for one thought it was witty. Why can’t you just take good humor?
And for the record, if you’re going to accuse him, accuse him correctly. The movie’s set in Vietnam, not China, so it’s not a Chinese racial slur. Look who’s the racially insensitive one now.
Are you guys really serious? It was a movie quote and if you are going to take offense to it you need to grow up a bit. Seriously, wtf is wrong with the added comments with the picture. It’s comical and meant to be taken that way. There have been many other quotes added to pictures in other posts. I didn’t see any of you complaining then. It is people like some of the commentors above who flip out and yell rasicm at any chance they get. Seriously, grow up.

Maybe in your mind it’s not racist. So, how about you do the following little test. Next time you’re out, and you see a cute asian lady in a club or bar with a flip phone, go up to her and say, “hey – I love your flip – you flip me long time” and see what reaction you get. By your view, she should crack up laughing because of your creative use of a movie quote.
