BlackBerry Storm hitting Best Buy November 16th?

To be fair, that’s what looks to be the in-stock date, not the street date as we’re told. We got our hands on a print out of a Best Buy product sheet which clearly shows the BlackBerry Storm’s store in-stock date. Suspiciously there’s no street date on the print out we got, but let’s be honest here, this is a RIM product. They determine release dates after a highly scientific game of drunken darts. In all seriousness, we did ring up Best Buy and confirmed that this information in actually in their system. We’d hedge our bets on a Storm release just before Thanksgiving. Anyone want to chime in?

Thanks, Chuck Bass!

I don’t usually do name calling, but I’d just like to say that you are an idiot, a complete idiot.

I sell Verizon. Both my regional and district reps were in my store yesterday and we even talked about the event. We are all going. They are required to go.

It’s not a scam. You can even call the locations. They will tell you the event is being held there.

Wow. Some people should REALLY think before they post.

Apologies. They may be real events, but they are not verizon corporate events, and it is not a verizon site. And the site is trying to make it look like they are corporate events, and collecting email addresses… so go figure. Maybe there’s a typo and it’s really a “fist-look, fist-touch” event. Have fun!

Actually, they are corporate events. If they weren’t, my superior reps wouldn’t be required to go. They are having one in every region.

It may not appear to be a “verizon site” because my assumption is it is only going to be there temporarily. It was a quick add on for people to register because not everyone is going to be let in the door. You have to register (using a business e-mail only) then they send you a registration code and inform you that they will be giving you a call b/c they want to make sure you really are affiliated with VZW.

Same here. My wife is with AT&T and I’m with TMO, so my dilemma is should I have her “upgrade” her current phone to the AT&T Bold, then take it, unlock it and use it on TMO or pay the ETF with TMO and jump to Verizon for the Storm? Decisions, decisions… =P

Before you go thrashing somebody you should take a look at crackberry.com

These events are being put on by a regional Verizon agent. They may indeed be getting some Verizon CO-OP dollars but they are not being put on by Verizon Corp.

Look at he location Omaha, Iowa….Big BB City’s???? Not… Where is LA, Chi, NY, Boston..

So your superiors are just taking a day off….

Go get a brown bag and breathe….

So if I buy a Storm from Verizon and try if for 30 days; can I keep it and use it with Alltel? I’ve had Alltel for almost 4 years and have had very little trouble. Also would someone compare the Storm with the Motorola Rave 4? Motorola makes some of the most reliable phones around. Mine has even seen the inside of the washing machine and still works like the day I got it.

Gotta give it to Verizon tho…..I sent a silly email wondering why they haven’t given a release date when sites have linked the release to mid November. A guy from Verizon actually called my cell phone a few minutes ago and indicated that the rumors of a 2 to 3 week release are accurate and that I should expect an email with the release info soon.

    Hey guys.

New here, just having done some browsing on the Storm I stumbled across this thread.

I work as a Verizon Wireless Retailer, and while I am in the dark as the specifics, I can tell you two things:

    1. We are supposed to be getting our shipments of the Storm by the 10th

    2. Knowing the current Verizon Wireless equipment rebates expire November 15, I would almost guarantee the actual release date (in stores) for the Storm would be November 16 as someone else has claimed in this thread. That’s when the new rebate forms will begin, so the Storm will likely be included on that date.

Again, I cannot say this with any actual insider information, but knowing what I know about the industry and our shipment date, the 16th is a pretty good bet.
