8MP shootout: LG KC910 Renoir vs. the Samsung Pixon M8800
Want an 8MP shooter but cant decide which one? With four sweet phones currently filling this category we feel your pain. The folks over at “Mobile@Mail.Ru” also understand your dilemma and have done a very detailed comparison of two of the latest 8MP phones, the LG Renoir and the Samsung Pixon . Besides the awesome 8MP capability which they have in common, what features differentiate these two camera phones and which one is the best for the shutterbugs among us? We will start off with the LG Renoir. The Renoir offers a Schneider-Kreuznach Lens and a Xenon flash which on paper (and in practice) outperforms the cheap plastic lens and dual LED flash of the Pixon. The Renoir also has an active autofocus which the reviewer deems superior to the Pixon’s passive autofocus. Mark that as two in the column for the LG Renoir. You can score a few for the Samsung Pixon as the reviewer notes that the speed of the Pixon camera is higher than the Renoir and the Pixon’s UI is easier to use. One caveat, the reviewer does not clarify (or our Russian is a little rusty and we missed it) what is meant by the “speed” of the camera; whether it is the time to first picture, the number of frames per second or the ISO. We will have to take his word for it that the “speed” is better on the Pixon. Hit the jump for some side-by-side sample photos.

Is it me or do the Pixon’s pictures look better?
The pic of the balloons shows that the Pixon can read flash output/input better than the Renoir
I think the balloon picture just shows that the LG’s LED flash sucks compared to a more natural-looking xenon one, but we already knew that from Nokia’s phones.

What is said in the Russian text is that the M8800 _works_ faster than the KC910 (the verb was omitted by Google Translate). So it can’t refer to ISO. My guess is that it’s a general observation on both time to the first picture and the number of frames.
It looks promising, who will be the carrier? Doesn’t look like the Behold from Tmobile?
The pixon will be on t-mobile i got a leaflet through sayin im due an upgrade via t-mobile and it said or wait for the new samsung pixon , i was delighted and shocked at the same time
The test is nonsense, in other tests the LG is much better then Pixon!!!
the pixon looks like it will dominate
probs a fake

in these pics nobody can say the truth. in baloons every body know that the xenon flash show the pics lighter than LED flashes and the LED az lower than xenon, this is the reason of that pic. but in all things between these mobile I think the RENOIR is more better than pixon
Omg Renoir is way much better…Dont forget that it only LOOKS worse in the camera flash in all the others it wins 7/9 renoir wins.
2/9 pixon sucks…And even that little flash video pic i am sure that could be taken just likje it was with pixon just not right pic…Renoir rocks…Pixon sucks…So simple
Read GSM Arena, Phone Arena or another site. They all state the Pixon out preforms the Renoir both in camera quality and usability.
ye me too, i think the pixons pictures are look better even though on the review say it doesnt!
