This phone kicks ass at everything except the keyboard. Another crappy touchsensitive keys pad that worksfine for pictures or dialing a number, but wreaks havokon any attempt at texting. Excellent phone overall, just don’t put yourself through the torture of tryingto text on it. I’ll stick to my BB Curveand G1 that I am typingthis out with.

@LK – I do agree with you. Just like most Americans think that only iPhones can look up Google Maps or play music just because it’s the most advertised one, they’re going to think that this is the first and greatest 5MP cameraphone because it is the first one subsidized by a carrier.

And to think that it’s Motorola! Nokia you should have brought the N95 onto a carrier!!!

I think I will keep my N95-3 and ATT here in the states at least I can get 3g with that. Although it is good to see competition in the market because Motorola was very close to shutting down business and now look at em…trying to make it work, I say good for them.

It’s a known fact that we Americans get our cell phone information solely from the carriers. Except for those of us who visit blogs and are in the know–because I too knew this was going to happen for a long time–it will be assumed that the “latest and greatest” cam phone is this Motorola, which was actually the last 5 MP phone on the market. Few Americans have heard of the N95 or the K850 or the Viewty and wouldn’t realize they came first.

So, either you didn’t understand my comment, you didn’t read it anyway, or you just like to flame random people on tech blogs. Either way, I couldn’t give a damn.

moto did not make this phone for t-mobile origonally. they did not leave out 3G because t-mobile wanted them to. It was a strictly moto decision.
they made it 2G because thats what moto does best. if it was 3G it would be a battery hog and have a talktime of probably 1 hour.

erm, last i checked, the “shitty synergy OS” and the “Linux OS” looked quite similar.

i mean, press the right soft key on the idle screen and voila, you get the main menu. and on the main menu, you get 9 icons, which are inevitably phonebook, multimedia, messaging, browser, settings, and a few other stuff. and if you click on, say, setup… you get ringtones, display, themes, etc

just WHAT is so different?

but in other news, there are detailed reviews out there which compared the ZN5 to other 5MP phones, and it did very well.

on the subject of 3G, i think its a good business decision by tmobile to keep all the 3g goodness on the G1. why split up the limelight? they probably told moto to keep it 2g.

This device sounds awesome to use when I’m not in the mood to chug around my BlackBerry.

To the poster who is crying about a lack of 3G, get over it already.

T-Mobile is really impressing me as of late brining these high end devices stateside.

I really hope it’s not just WiFi but also UMA capable as well.

It has a Linux OS so hopefully the OS is easier to be modded just like the E6.
