Future Shop offers Touch Diamond at $99 as consolation for error

So many people got excited a few days ago after learning the HTC Touch Pro would be $239.99 with a contract from Future Shop. Well, it turns out there was just a slight error in their pricing and the Touch Pro is really $649.99 without a contract (actually, the Touch Pro was removed from the site completely at the time this post was written). It seems like it was yet to be subsidized at the awesome price listed in the ad and one might think it’s not going that route any time soon. Now, the HTC Touch Diamond and all the bells and whistles is available for $99 with a contract as a consolation prize. All you have to do is use the SKU number they’ve put up and sign your soul over for 3 years and that sweet new Touch Diamond is yours for just a bill (anyone else use “bill” in reference to a hundred dollars or is that just a SoCal thing?).

Thanks John!

Do they even have futureshops in socal?

Up here in Canada it’s referred to as $120 American.

BW Canadians are used to the 3 year contracts and most of the carriers let you get a new device after 1 year if you threaten to switch.

Nah, we use bill and buck here in Philly, though “buck” is more used when your betting on games. Single for a $1. Grand, Large, Box of Ziti or Dime for $1000. “Kids College Fund” is bets of $25,000 or more.

That’s because in Chicago – $100 is like a penny everywhere else. I was up there for the Phils/Cubs series this year. I spent $1500 in 4 days (most of it at Bar Chicago and Castaways). Spent 2 hours on-line and $60 to get a deep dish pizza and write all over a wall. $30 for a double decker bus tour.

Murpheys Bleachers though: GREAT PLACE. All you can eat and drink, one low price and you get a great view of the game.

Chicago is a great place though. Tons of smoking hot women. The only bad thing is that its expensive and smells like horse piss.

No, not really. I say “one hundred dollars”.

I don’t care if the Diamond is available for a C note, a bill, a fin or a dollar!

Why is the vendor (I’m assuming Telus) holding up this product? Have they not sold enough of the Diamonds?

I’ve been a customer for years and I’m looking forward to being a Telus customer in 2010 when they go 4G, I just want a phone that I’m going to be able to use in the mean time…

I want a smart phone with a tactile keyboard that is more functional than the small keypads available on things like the blackberries….

is that too much to ask?
