Last minute Apple MacBook/MacBook Pro rumors, starts at $899

One of our trusted Apple ninjas just let us know that he/she has found the following pricing in the Apple Store system. They “guarantee” the follow price-points:
- $899
- $1,299
- $1,599
- $1,799
- $1,999
- And two at $2,499
We were told there may be more models (more expensive 17 inch MacBook Pros) but that’s all that is in the system now. We will see if our ninja is on point come tomorrow, but we have a good feeling about this.

Any information on which (if any) of the prices above belong to the MacBook Air?

Man I hope this Apple ninja is right, because those are some good prices.

Good prices? Those are outrageously high. That’s to be expected with Apple though.

$899? Now there is NO WAY that Apple can afford to put a DVD burner in!

not sure why you put that picture up. I know the prices might be right on but why use an old pic that we know is not the case.

iz can be really weird if apple jumped from $100 between each macbook model to $400 from low to mid models. something smells like pu pu here fo shniznet. i call WRONG!

The 17″ will probably still be around $3,100 for the highest end processor. Not sure if I’m cool with the glossy screen or not.
Have to see it in the Apple store before I plop $3k in cash.

So by saying “Apple Ninja,” you’re setting yourselves up to say “you were right, you called it” when Jobs announces this as true. However, on the flip side, if this isn’t true BGR can blame it on “that damn lying ninja!” Pathetic tactic, we’ve seen it before from you and this surely won’t be the last time either. If you’re going to make a claim, at least have the Kellen Winslow’s to stick by it.

My money would be on the $899 being a “netbook” and the macbooks starting at the 1300 mark, these prices would suggest the Bluray rumours could be correct and present in the whole line.
If i am wrong about the 899 model being a sub-notebook then it won’t have the pricey drive.

I don’t know about your maths skills but they are $200 price jumps between models and a $400 jump as well as a $499 jump. “i call WRONG!”

$899 is still too high for a machine to watch porn off from.

Hopefully these prices aren’t true…I’d really like to see something at $1099 that has the features of the current baseline MacBook with the usual bumps in speed, video, hard drive, and hopefully DVD. I’m in the market for a MacBook but if I have to pay $1299 I’ll go for a reconditioned older model.

I think that the jump between 899 and 1299 is far to large for a standard price point…maybe they leave that 1099 macbook from today? cause 400 dollar choices is too large

look at it again people. there are 7 prices and 8 macbooks. 3 macbooks, 3 pros, 2 airs. so it’s very possible that they just didn’t list the other price. based on the prices i came up with this:
macbook 1 - 899
macbook 2 - 1099 unknown
macbook 3 - 1299
macbook pro 1 - 1599
macbook pro 2 - 1999
macbook pro 3 - 2499
macbook air 1 - 1799
macbook air 2 - 2499
i think this is a very plausible pricing. everything gets a healthy price drop except for the air 1, but at least the air 2 gets a little drop

Reports are now saying that $899 is a display. Perhaps the docking screen/station for the MBP to slide into. That would help to justify just one updated display.

So, Engadget is saying no 17″. Oh well, I can wait a little longer.

will it really have that stupid ass mouse pad? well macintosh would put something stupid like that on a laptop. can you say mouse problems out the ass? it is a new apple release with new apple technology, so if it is indeed like that… Cupertino we have a problem.

Mouse pad? what the heck are you talking about.

Okay so, everyone is on crack or I’m just out of my God damn mind. These rumors as of 10pm have gone from “Okay, we are sure we got this tomorrow.” to: Holy Fucking Shit, John Fucking Denver came back from the dead and took a shit on Steve Jobs chest while the little guy from Paradise Island is dancing around screaming “Da plane, da plane” and Clay Aiken is riding around on a Segway, throwing skittles saying “Taste the rainbow, BITCHES!”
Ahh whatever. At least I’m not out of scotch, yet.
