New round of MacBook and MacBook Pro case images; least fake-looking yet

We’re now just over two days away from the confirmed Apple notebook event and wouldn’t you know, more leaked images of Apple laptops have emerged. We’ve got to say that despite being the clearest shots to date, this new round is also the least Photoshop-ish yet. Sure, they may still be fake but if they’re not we’re in for a pretty tasty refresh on Tuesday. Hit the jump for all the images you can handle. What do you guys think - fake or real deal?

Update: Note that the image above is a Photoshop job done by a MacRumors forum member and republished along with the original images (read link). The original images below however, are still thought to be authentic.

They look real to me, but I don’t want to get my hopes up too much. Just a few days more to wait for all the rumors to be smashed!

and how do you know this?
you got any pics? i doubt it

i think these are real, and ive seen a lot of fake pics in the past and knew off the bat they were fake.

and if these are fake, and not what Apple is coming out with, then you can laugh in my face. i dont care. just you cant say these are “definitively fake” without having any proof of your own to back yourelf up.

What doesn’t make sense to me is that the optical drive on the supposed MacBook Pro is right under the right speaker and the keyboard. That doesn’t look right. Unless they are using wafer thin speakers.

Damn, that’s thin. Comparing those ports to the ports on my 17″ MacBook Pro, the new ones (if these are legitimate) look to be about 1/10″ to 1/8″ thinner than the current MBP or around .9 to .875 inches thick.

    Damn, that’s thin.

if thats how the MBP will look, i hate the new style of keyboard they are putting on the pro series. they feel so plastic-y. and looks cheap/not streamlined. i still love the current keyboard style they have for the pro series. never liked the macbook keyboards or the new keyboards that apple offers except for the macbook pro kind. BOO!

if there are indeed 3 models on macbooks starting at $800, possibly the lowest end model lacks firewire… (no firewire port on left side of MB in picture)

There is an old saying, “Never bet on professional sports, because you can’t ever be sure.” further augmented by a movie quote “On any given Sunday anything can happen.” Now this really pertains to a lot. Whether you are talking how Chicago lost it at the last minute or how Dallas was able to bring it into OT with a field goal while the clocked ticked 0:00 to only lose it again on a touchdown return from a deflected punt. Or, you can apply this to our current Apple situation. These could very well be very good fakes. Prior experience has shown that we may be looking at the genuine thing here. But we don’t know for absolute sure.

Let’s call this, “On any given Tuesday, Apple can do anything they want.” At 11:59pm on Monday night, Steve Jobs could be at home, angry at the outcome of the Giants game and decide to change the entire lineup of PC’s. Come Tuesday, they may have some radical renders and say “shipping in about a month.”

Until El Jobso actually steps on stage and shows a MacBook and MBP that look identical to these spy shots, we don’t know jack. And I bet you, Jobs loves every single solitary minute of it.

If I was in his shoes, I would.
