BlackBerry super-phone in the works, Storm 2 and 3 coming soon

We don’t have too much info to go off of at this point in time, but if you are still waiting to get your hands on the Pearl Flip 8220, Curve 8900, Bold, or Storm, we’re about to screw you up real quick. We’ve now confirmed from 2 independent sources that RIM is working on a device that will blow the roof off all previous models. Ready for it? 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, 1GB of RAM so your precious worthless apps don’t cause memory leaks, and a “near-HD quality” screen. We’re honestly not sure about the form-factor but we heard this device could be sort of a Bold and Storm mashup. Either Treo-esque or a slide-out device. One last thing… we have also heard from a different source that RIM is hard at work on a second generation Storm device and they’ve even started the first stages of a third generation Storm. That’s all we’ve got for now, but you know we’ll be on this quicker than a plus-sized girl on a jar of Mayo. Who’s your favorite blogger?

Wow BG – you’re the king of leaks! Who would have thought that RIM would even think about building another generation of Blackberries?

I’ve got some “leaks” for you too: Apple is currently working on a 3rd generation iPhone in a super-secret lab, and Nokia is busy working on an 8MP N-series. Can’t tell you more, but thought you should be the first to know… ;)

Of course they’re working on the sequel (and beyond). Product development organizations don’t wait and complete each product before thinking about the next version.

The storm is pretty much falling into my lap next month with my new every two discount coming on Nov. 21st. Depending on what I can get out of my Voyager, this could be a free upgrade for me. But I’m not naive about how quickly the market moves. This time next year there will be talk of storm 2 “leaked” specs, CDMA iphones for 2010 and Storm 13s in development.
Storm Uno may not be Miss “Right”, but it is Miss “Right Now”. And we all know that Miss “Right Now” can be fun… for a while.

    Annnnnnnnnnnd *yawn*.

We need to stop looking two models ahead or we’ll never enjoy what’s coming out now. Why bother buying a Bold or Storm now if you’re gonna let this “leak” bum you out?

I’ll be enjoying the 2008 Bold if/when it comes out, regardless of what’s happening in 2011.

By the way, I’m looking forward to a leak about the next crappier version of the iPhone, since the 3G was SUCH an improvement over the original. The copying/pasting, switch-tolandscape texting…yep, it was all there.

Maybe Iphone #3 will even include “O Susanna” as a stock ringtone. :-P

There is no need for the plus-sized girl comment. I hope there won’t be more of those types of comments in the future. Not nice BG.

Maybe BG should have used the words “A BBW on a free chocolate factory tour”? :)

I am amazed at how sensitive we are about calling fat people fat, and calling a phat phone phat :)

Safe money is on the Storm, yet I have this gut feeling the Bold is just going to be released with hardly (if any) any advanced notice by the end of the month, just to get it the hell out already.

A sudden release would have fewer initial BB users jumping on the 3G network at the starting gate on one day and possibly avoiding the iPhone and iPhone 3G debacles (or at least the AT&T server-side of the iPhone debacles, anyway.)

Nice to have options, though. My AT&T contract is up so I can jump ship to Verizon for the Storm…

Bolds ARE available in NYC, btw…assuming you’re a financial masochist or have alot of extra dinero and want to spend $1000 on unlocked ones. West 50th ATT store in NYC.

This phone is going to have more Ram than my notebook running xp. If this thing is rocking a higher than 600 MHz processor why don’t just make it run a modded version of a desktop os? Or at least add some function to their current os. There is no point in a gig of ram with the programs currently available for BBs.

This is wrong. I’ve waited since freakin may when I heard rumors of the storm for this phone to come out. Now I have to deal with it being outdated before it’s even ready wtf. So in closing, f blackberry, f the iphone ( because i hate them more), and f the storm 2 & 3. I hope they have glitches and burn.

O.k. I’m calling bullshit. I doubt very seriously that RIM would disclose to you, or any other blogger this kind of information. It absolutely makes no sense. The Storm hasn’t even been released, much less given a release date or price, and their already working on something that will so called “blow the doors off of it? And what independent sourse? Some crackhead off the streat? If such devises were being developed why would they disclose this NOW, on the eve of their most important product’s debut? WTF ever. If this is indeed true then RIM has to be THE dumbest engineers on the face of the earth, period.
