BlackBerry super-phone in the works, Storm 2 and 3 coming soon
We don’t have too much info to go off of at this point in time, but if you are still waiting to get your hands on the Pearl Flip 8220, Curve 8900, Bold, or Storm, we’re about to screw you up real quick. We’ve now confirmed from 2 independent sources that RIM is working on a device that will blow the roof off all previous models. Ready for it? 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, 1GB of RAM so your precious worthless apps don’t cause memory leaks, and a “near-HD quality” screen. We’re honestly not sure about the form-factor but we heard this device could be sort of a Bold and Storm mashup. Either Treo-esque or a slide-out device. One last thing… we have also heard from a different source that RIM is hard at work on a second generation Storm device and they’ve even started the first stages of a third generation Storm. That’s all we’ve got for now, but you know we’ll be on this quicker than a plus-sized girl on a jar of Mayo. Who’s your favorite blogger?

I’m not holding my breath. At the(Bold) pace RIM is going it will be several years before these see the light of day. The Storm is the perfect answer to the iphone, and will suit my needs just fine until this HiDef/5 megapixl/supercomputer/Home theater- teases us in a year or more.Good scoop though!

As one of the first to have an 8700,8800, 8300, 8310, and now rocking the Bold since Rogers release, I think that……too many options, and too many things on the horizon make people get a wait and see attitude. Should you get the Storm or wait?? I think this is bad for business, and will long term hurt RIM.
For a confused general public iphone or no iphone is a simple decision?
Dont kid yourself I will be rocking all the new BB models one by one, but holy confusion batman.
How long I roll with BB depends how they do after my Bold which is a total bust (i am on my 2nd replacement due to defects!!!)

It’s only natural for a company to think long term and yes it sucks because now none of the phones for the short term work good whether it be os problems or other (haven’t seen the clam nor the javelin in action)
But hopefully when these devices come out…..we can actually use them and not make them into a paper weight รก la bold.

How do you know this? Do you have this device? Do you know anyone that has this device? It hasn’t even been released yet and you proclaim it will suit your needs just fine.
Meanwhile, in other news, AT&T announced that the Bold will be delayed until early 2009. “We’re still testing this baby and hope to have it ready soon”

fuck it, i’m still buying the storm. It’ll be at least a year before the 2nd gen Storm.
Since there are no detail on the Bold/Storm device, I’ll just pretend like that’s comming out in like 2 or 3 years.
This is one reason I went to the iPhone. I’m sure Apple is planning another one for next year, but it’s just the next version and I can upgrade to it every 12 months.
I am still going to be getting the BB Storm. I’ll just upgrade to the new BB Storm once it comes out.
I wonder what happened to that hybrid touch screen phone that was talked about a few months ago. A trio like hybrid would be awesome.
