When I try to download the media sync or desktop manager for mac it says “File Not Found”… Any ideas?

You can go to the doubleTwist website to download the Mac version and then sync your Blackberry. Good luck!

You should just download doubleTwist for the Mac (http://www.doubletwist.com). It’s free and really easy to sync your iTunes library or other media with doubleTwist.

hello to all,
i jus replaced my 3G iphone for BB bold, its awesome but, since m a mac user m having problem syncing my BB.. i read all the comments but didn’t quite get how’d we download the software on the mac.. would really appreciate if someone can give me some idea.. overall, the BB bold is an awesome phone and the best part is i’m saving over $1000 in a 2 year contract, can’t get better than tht..

PocketMac doesn’t work with the Bold and other Blackberries with both internal and SD memory.

I have PocketMac, but for some reason it says I can’t sync my iTunes or iPhoto because I don’t have a memory card in (even though I do have an 8gb memory card in my phone). Has anyone else has this problem and/or know how to deal with it? Thanks!

I use PocketMac for blackberry. It has worked very well for me and is free of Blackberry’s website. I only sync my contacts but you can do a lot more with it like iCal, iPhoto, iTunes etc.

I’m not technically savvy as it relates to computer programs, etc. However, I can tell you one thing. I fell in love last Wedenesday. Her name is BlackBerry Bold. It is an amazing device. Easy email set-up, great form factor, superb screen, browser is about 1000 times better than previous OS editions.

Also, I googled “missing sync” and downloaded the program to my mac. It costs $20 or $30, but worth it. Once it’s downloaded, connect the Bold via its USB and go nuts downloading your choice of Mac applications. Also, in preparation for this months ago, I started downloading music from Amazon which can send songs to your itunes playlist through its “downloader”. You can avoid the Apple DRM issue…I think…this is where my limited knowledge kicks in to high gear.

just thinking about buying a blackberry bold primarily for the emails as i find the iphone to frustrating. but have been wondering if i can sync my address book from my mac which is the thing i want to do the most. your entry says you have found away , so just wondered if you could say how you do it as everyone else says its to difficult. in hope.!!

Thank You RIM. I finally purchased a Blackberry over iPhone eventhough I’m a Mac user. The salesman told me that it was compatible with Mac, but I couldn’t get it to work. I was discouraged, because I had a feeling that RIM would come through with something for the Mac. And you did. I’ve told everyone I know with a Blackberry and Mac.

A day late and a dollar short. I ditched my BB for an iPhone. Why?

1) Pocketmac goes way beyond sucking. Howabout “it worked once”. I need data to go into and out of my phone other ways besides the keyboard and callerid.

2) Waiting for the bold… and waiting… and waiting… only to find that in the countries it’s available in, it costs more than an 8 gig iphone anyway.

3) Strange behavior with my gMail that I’m tired of coping with. With iPhone, it works just like on my Mac.

When all is said and done, every advantage Blackberry has to offer me is overridden by the fact that it simply doesn’t work. So I say goodbye to copy/paste, the trackball, the keyboard, and long battery life in favor of something that actually works with my mac.

(Technically, a Razr would have improved on the Blackberry for mac compatibility, but fortunately I don’t have to go THAT low.)

Except Missing Sync won’t let you sync via blue tooth, and if you have other usb devices plugged in it will cause problems. Not exactly a great replacement.

Ummm nobody really cares about this except for a tiny minority of Mac users. The real users who would benefit if they had a version are GNU/Linux users. Its the GNU/Linux crowd that maintains the infrastructure and actually need these types of devices. This isn’t to say a few CEO’s don’t also use a Mac who might need one- but I’d be that there are far fewer of them. It’s not like you can’t sync using either Mac or GNU/Linux already anyway though- but BlackBerry should be supporting both platforms for the sake of equality.

This is OK, but The Missing Sync from Mark/Space is still a lot better; not just for synching all of my contacts, playlists, calendars but also my files, folders, apps, message threads, call logs and plenty of other stuff

i been using Missing Sync for a couple of years now and it gets better all the time; plus it’s simple to use without skimming on features…my two cents

Mark Space does this for 39.95 with its Missing Sync for Blackberry. This program is out already I believe on blackberry’s website

If I want to play music I’ve got an iPod. How about they make some software so I can sync my Exchange contacts and calendar without firing up a virtual Windows machine. Seems not so long ago that was the core market for RIM, and now they’re going after consumers who (god knows why) want a giant smartphone.

Waaay too late, rid myself of Blackberry for an iPhone. RIM brings this out only as competition heats up. Sorry, RIM you missed the boat with Mac users.
