Verizon BlackBerry Storm viral video
Remember that post we made about Verizon filming average people in public using the Storm and getting first-hand impressions? Well, we were right, and so was our tipster! Here’s the video which we just got our hands on. People are “touching” the Storm and saying “oooh” and “ahhhh”. Though there were a couple iPhone mentions… Just remember they were all paid $20 each for their “appearances”. Thoughts?
Thanks, Harris!

neat…a blackberry…
This is just making it harder and harder to wait for the darn thing to come out! I really can’t wait to try clicking the screen to see how it feels! Its time Verizon just came out and announced it allready and quit with all the internet hype..
Ohhh Ahhh, thats what she said
I saw a film crew with some guy with a verizon jacket at daley center in chicago about two weeks ago forgot about it maybe this is why.
awww, guess jackass Bob didn’t make the cut…too bad.
Nice. Hrm. May have to hold onto the iPhone just so I can trade it for one of these.
BTW, BG, WTF’s been up with the site recently? Getting flooded by traffic with all this leak info?
Been loading MAD SLOW recently (if even at all…wouldn’t load this morning or yesterday…)
Geez, all this storm news…thanks BGR, I guess no one will doubt you again
The clips for each person are too short. I imagine… A lot more iPhone mentions then that.
None the less, seems to be a good solid device.
I wasn’t doubting his info. Hands down, the best at leaked info. I was upset at questioning a device he hadn’t used. Seems like that has chilled out. Cool.
color me jealous. why wasn’t i at little 5 in atlanta when they were letting people play with it?
“when it comes out it will revolutionize the market” LOL where was he a year ago when the iPhone beat him and his company to it?
i love how company’s only show the best reactions in favor of their product.
That being said it is a great device and im sure will sell well, i just hate tricky advertising
This device is so much better than the Iphone.
Finally a device that I want on a network that actually lives up to its name.
I tried the iPhone…. not once but twice throwing hundreds of dollars away to Apple and at&t. In return I got a pretty phone with a pretty browser but an awful network.
For me, it’s either gonna be the new G1 by HTC or this bad boy.
Does anyone know if this thing is going to be as wide as the World Edition 8830 series? I’m hoping it’s just a little bit narrower.
No offense, but if you tried the iPhone twice, you’re a tool, and a dull one at that. You should first concentrate on making wise purchasing decisions (you know, the kind were you don’t end up blowing “hundreds” of dollars), and then worry about finding a suitable device. The iPhone is easy to use, but it’s not for tools; tools function better with a chiklet keyboard and a crappy browser.
Rim/verizon had better not screw this up. They might be setting unrealistic expectations at this point and that could kill this device. They need to release it already and quit the bs. If it weren’t for this thing I would’ve already switched to an iphone. And now they have to contend with the g1. I think they are playing a dangerous game and this phone better live up to the hype.
Wasn’t the story that they were paying people 20 bucks to play with it? Not actors, real people, but bought-off!
@ perspective: No the Iphone is a toy. Nothing more. Need I number it’s deficiencies?
I want to echo theOutsider’s comments, what is the deal with the site lately? I haven’t been able to get on it for 2 days.
A lame attempt at trying to position the device as cool. Way too many “dopes” and “tights”. Note to Blackberry: if it’s a good phone, you won’t have to worry about trying so hard to market it. There’s plenty of room for it and the iPhone. And what the hell is up with that music?
“Revolutionize the Market”
Uhhhh, I hate to be the barer of bad news, but ummm, I think you developed that because of *whispers* another touchscreen device out there */whispers*
That accelerometer is pretty cool, I wonder where they got THAT idea from?
I don’t think this is so much RIM trying to steal apple’s thunder as it is verizon trying to grab attention away from at&t, this is the first thing that could be called a halo device on their network and they want people to know it
@ Bart Lee
so true, i dont remember this kinda crap with the curve (of course i can’t even remember when the curve was out or what phone i had then) but im pretty sure RIM’s loyal crackberryist and word of mouth made it popular. not viral marketing……
*addicted to my crak 8330*
and if this phone turn out like the dare i kept for 1 week its deff going to fail (imo) the novelty of having the newest shiny touch screeny phone wears off real easy after you have to wait 3 sec for a qwerty to appear or tap the fkn screen scroll a full web page. The dare was a better camera than phone for me…..
Wow, I’ll be the first to admit i was dead set on a bold, now I feel like I owe it to myself to at least try this phone out. I may or may not speak for the masses but ATT may have just lost one.
What’s the point of this video? That’s it easy to impress people when they don’t know much about the market?
The Touch HD is probably a much better option for its wider variety of WM 3rd party app.
The G1 has a physical keyboard and a far more versatile OS, Android.
The BB Browser is the worst in the next-gen market. Has no flash support. Slower than Safari, Opera 9.5, Android Browser, and Nokia’s flash browser.
It’s a great phone don’t get me wrong, and the clicking touchscreen will be great, but it’s far from the “revolution” many people in the video think it is.
I just got into a blackberry Curve about 7 months ago, so obviously I’m not due for an “upgrade” for well over a year. I am curious as to what this phone is going to cost at retail. I was doing some cost comparisons and the BB curve is running about 429.99 and the world edition version is running 519.99. So I have a feeling there is going to be hefty cost for the Storm.
Anyone else going to be paying full retail for this? After doing this quick research, the price has me a bit leery….
