It’s a beautiful day in New York City, but oh man… we can see those clouds eagerly approaching. We just got our hands on a ton of documents detailing both the BlackBerry Storm 9500 and BlackBerry Storm 9530. Bear with us as we comb through them, ok? In the meantime, check out some awesome slides from an internal powerpoint presentation. They detail every aspect of the device, from typing to phone calling, media syncing, to web browsing — we’re sure you’ll like them.

It looks amazing!! Can’t wait to ahve it in store!

This is a good look for RIM I can’t wait for some hands on action with the verizon devices!

Am I the only one who’s still thoroughly confused about this screen? When you press a button, only the part of the screen you’re pressing goes in? That sounds cool, but how does it click?
Or does the WHOLE screen go in, which would be utterly retarded.

The whole screen goes in… each corner has a “button” underneath the screen as I’m told…

Great stuff, BG.
I can safely say that I would never use the Storm as my daily driver, but I sure would like to get one to play around with. These slides have really upped my expectations.

It just seems like if the whole screen goes in that would make typing a lot slower. Maybe I’m just imagining it.

when? when? when?
I hope before the Bold on T- which should affirm the fact the America’s Network is the way to go not “the most bars”.

So BGR, it sounds like you’ve got more than just this PPT. Should we expect more documents to be posted throughout the day?

Credit where credit is due. Great Job BG! No remarks, no “garbage” comments… Just true blue facts. The way it used to be. Huge Props. Again, GREAT JOB!

The wi-fi option had a check mark out of place and also had a dash in the pp!! i was wondering if storm has wi-fi? it would be a huge negative point if it wouldn’t

@ Joorab,
There will not be WiFi on the Storm.

This is making me not want the Bold as every day passes.

Is it me, or are the left/right convenience keys labeled backwards in the slide?

Why do I get the nasty suspicion this will end up hitting before the Bold? What an embarrassment to att… perhaps RIM’s allegiance is shifting after what may have been perceived as a backstab with the iPhone.
Still no word on what type of touch screen? I’m still waiting on someone else to use the similar capacitive tech as synaptics/iphone. I’ve learned my lesson about pressure sensitive touch after a decade of nonimprovement…

The ppt presentation we saw from Engadget mentioned the Storm had STANDALONE and Assisted GPS. This new document only indicates AGPS. What’s the deal? Which is true? Maybe it just slipped their minds here…I hope.

i don’t want to know!

It looks really slick. The fact that Wi-Fi will not be included is lame and unacceptable! I like the LED for notifications. That’s one thing that the iPhone is lacking is a way to notify you of a missed call, voicemail, IM, or e-mail when the phone is not active!

@vandy:
ONE thing? There are MANY things the Storm will do that iPhone can’t. Not that iPhone doesn’t have its place too, and can do things Storm can’t, but my gosh dude there’s FAR more than ONE thing…

Boy Genius or Anyone Else-
Does anyone know if any of the new 9500 or 9530 are slated to b released on AT&T?
I recently spoke to a Customer service manager who does Corporate Escalations, she said that Last Friday- 2 days ago, they were requred to take a mandatory class or inservice on the Bold, they have NOT had such regarding the lates Touch “Crave” Devices.
It appears that AT&T is in bed with Apple and cares nothing about thheir other customers who think and justifiably so… “This Apple has a rotten Core”
I-Phone is the magic word, not “What or Customers needs are”-
By the way, My Daughter came to me and stated that someone on this site is using Vulgarities that really are out of Place here- Please remember that alot of people view this site as the Cats Mmeow when it comes to Info about PDA’s and Cell phones, the person in question could have expressed himself or herself without exposing everyone else to theiir gramatical discourse.
It woould be nice if that posting was removed or just the “FKNG” Word removed-
Thank You
