New images of revised MacBook Pro in the wild, maybe
They say seeing is believing but anyone in the tech blogging game knows that simply isn’t the case. As such, we’re treading lightly with this one. Someone by the name of “Techno Minds” has bestowed modmyi.com with what he claims to be an image of two new MacBook Pros that was snagged from an Apple designer. Hmm. According to the images, the rumored integration of a “touchpad dock” is not present but the touchpad is indeed black as had been stated earlier. By the way, does anyone think that touchpad looks a bit short? Techno Minds also claims that the new model will have a new magnetic opening / closing system and that the top is glossy a la iPhone 3G while the bottom is aluminum. There was also a supposed ad mockup included with the image above that can be seen after the jump. As has been noted already, one of the more suspicious things about both the wild shot and the mockup is the clear lack of a power button. Either Apple has finally found a way to tap into users’ brains so we can turn the new MBP on and off by concentrating really hard, or this new round is probably just as fake as the last one. What do you think?

Even if they’re are fake there’s no denying that they’re very pretty. I certainly wouldn’t mind the new MBP looking like this.
Fake
Well, first of all, I can’t honestly see Apple using the word “beastly” in a promo picture. Secondly, while I’m not going to cry ugly, I don’t think these look up to Apple standards. The black keyboard and black around the screen just look a bit sub-par to me. I call fake.
Looks like a colorware job. I actually kind of like it, personally – but its a little too “niche” for Apple.
It doesn’t look as timeless and sleak as an Apple product does. Much like a Mercedes Benz, Apple products (recently) just have this classy, sexy look and feel to them; This does not.
As far as the lack of the “power button” goes, you don’t need one. Look at the PS3, that doesn’t have a “button” per se. Much Older macs, you used to turn them on via the spacebar.
Then there’s the fact that if the CD slot in that second image is really to scale, then that thing must have about a 20″ screen. And the “trying to hard to be cool/casual” marketing copy doesn’t help either.
Very fake.
this looks like a step in the WRONG direction. I mean two-toned?! wtf. Apple does its best with simple, spartan design. this looks more like an hp disaster.
Keyboard seems tiny.. Trackpad seems to vary in sizes, and the ad’s verbage is not smooth… Shouldn’t be. A blend of…. I call BS… But seriously, I want the new mbp sooo badly
a
Im going to say Fake on these.
“A blend of beauty meets beastly power.”?
ROFL! Talk about dead giveaway.
looks like a fake and it looks like shat too.
I find my current one looks more stylistically confident compared to this black aluminium contrast. Apple products usually looking more homogeneous.
Reminds me more of samsung than apple.
