BlackBerry Storm launching on Vodafone world wide November 9th?

We’re working to completely confirm this info, but it does sound about right. Two of our sources have told us that Vodafone’s global launch date for the BlackBerry Storm is on November 9th. No telling if Verizon’s release date is the same, but we had heard November 7th for Verizon, so who knows. There are also rumblings about an October 9th Verizon/Vodafone/RIM press event in New York City. Hold on BlackBerry fans, you won’t even recognize the Bold in about a month…

    @ Boy Genius,

I never asked you anything about the Bold, yet you’ve chosen to talk more about the Bold than the Storm. The Storm has a different O/S, carrier, and different form factor, and has a touch screen. And again, without providing any info about the Storm as to why you don’t think it will do well, you call it “garbage”. Are you going to address the post, or tell me more about the Bold? I’m just curious, but I’ll post it again for you.

    “@ Boy Genius,

With all seriousness, do you not admit that you provided extra criticism of both Verizon and the Storm? I mean, when you’ve criticized the Storm, you don’t even both to give an explanation most of the time. You even said in a comment in the article, “I think it will still be garbage” WTF?! Are you serious? lmao, that is hate, you didn’t even bother to say anything to back it up, just “garbage”.

    Then you say here,
” I have used a Storm, but it was a very early model and it was for a VERY short period of time. Will my impressions change? Possibly”

Ok so you admit to ONLY using a very EARLY model of the Storm, and for a VERY short period of time, yet you say these negative things? The bianess here is far to obvious to anyone with common sense. Just look at this part that I’m talking about right here.”

Notice I didn’t ask a single question about the Bold.

P.S, just a side note, I’m waiting to see where you blatantly say , “The Bold for AT&T will be garbage”

@mangenius: That’s funny because none of the RIM/WM/SYMBIAN folks held off bashing the iPhone before it was released… I guess a person who has actually used the device is entitled to write a “first impressions” post.

Yes, his very short time with an O/S that’s not even used anymore is more than my personal experience. But I never said the Storm was great. I’m trying to find out how a person with very little use of an O/S that’s not even being used right now can go so far to say something is “garbage”.

I never claimed ANY superiority and certainly don’t ask for any. You again slanting words to favor your post. Maybe you didn’t hear me the first time, we are equals in here and all have a right to our opinion without “God Blogger” resorting to childish name calling. I simply made the point I have been blessed by the industry and I achieved this by being open minded. I stand by the comment of BGR’s recent slants. Now consider this a done deal and continue on God Blogger.

BG – I know we’ve heard this before but could it possibly be AT&T’s shitty 3G network causing the delays in the Bold? We’ve heard you report RIM delay after delay but when you take all things together and note that the Bold has launched in most major markets except for the US on AT&T I dont think the issue lies with RIM..
    ______________________________________

If the problem is with AT&T’s “shitty” 3G network, how come only RIM seems to have problems launching their 3G device on it. Look how many 3G devices launch on AT&T and they have no problems. I have a Nokia E71 and it works PERFECTLY on 3.5g HSDPA and it’s not even offered by AT&T? So why is it that HTC, Motorola, Palm and even Pantech can launch a 3G phone on AT&T but not RIM?

Does that really sound like an AT&T issue??

“Add in a BRAND new OS (4.7) and a completely new way of navigating (capacitive, click, AND multi touch screen) and you’ve got a recipe for a disaster. RIM has bitten off way more than they can chew this time and it will show soon enough”

Wow. This is the basis for your opinion? How stupid of RIM to actually try and progress, to develop new hardware and software. From the above it seems you would be satisfied if they had just stopped new development and focused on the 87XX series.

Again, remember your negative predictions on the Pearl and how those turned out?

You are right, he has the freedom to hate based on very little experience on software that isn’t even used. I don’t see how his experience is even valid since it was an outdated O/S. And it was very little time with it. Yet, he doesn’t say, “I don’t think it will be very good because…..”, or “my experience …….”, he just says “garbage”, Yes the constitution gives us all the freedom of opinion, and his just clearly shows a very baised opinion.

About the issues with the Bold. If it is a RIM issue please explain why the Bold is working in Canada just fine. Please explain why (I dont know the number) x amount of countries have already launched it fine.. to me it says AT&T..

If I may, I believe the point was that RIM is putting a lot of “new” everything into this device (hardware, software, new navigation) and when that happens, regardless of the platform, you are asking for trouble. Especially since RIM has never implemented that kind of technology into one single device before. You have to admit, it’s a lot to bite off. And considering the issues that they are having with the Bold right now, it’s not a far stretch to think that the Storm will be problematic. At least at lauch.

I don’t see anything that indicates he was faulting RIM for trying to advance their product.

@mangenius: Other countries use different bands of GSM than North America so I would assume that rim is having problem in that area. I still say, if HTC, Palm, Motorola, LG, Nokia, and so one can ALL launch 3G on AT&T’s network, why can’t RIM? You are dodging the question.

I guess it’s a stale mate then of sorts but I still tend to believe that it’s a RIM issue because there are more 3G devices on AT&T’s network than there are countries that have launched the Bold. I just have to think that if dozens of other 3G devices from numerous manufactures can run fine on it, there should be no reason that RIM’s can’t.

Umm, Bold has already launched all over the world bub, almost everywhere except in the US. So, the testing “hell” they are facing probably has to do with ATT’s network. Don’t just assume that ATT pumps out phones quickly and b/c its late, it has everything to do with RIM’s side.
