BlackBerry Storm launching on Vodafone world wide November 9th?

We’re working to completely confirm this info, but it does sound about right. Two of our sources have told us that Vodafone’s global launch date for the BlackBerry Storm is on November 9th. No telling if Verizon’s release date is the same, but we had heard November 7th for Verizon, so who knows. There are also rumblings about an October 9th Verizon/Vodafone/RIM press event in New York City. Hold on BlackBerry fans, you won’t even recognize the Bold in about a month…

    Nice sample picture.

I can’t wait for the review here, and hopefully a comp to the iPhone 3G.

So now you think the Storm will crush the Bold? I guess you have had a change of heart.

What BG means is the 9500 will work on AT&T and their 3G and on T-Mobile’s EDGE.

@ BG your sources are right on as of right now. Just confirmed the same while here at work. ;)

Not at all. Just think that with the huge marketing push VZW and RIM are doing, regular people won’t even know what a Bold is come November. I personally still think Storm will be a piece of garbage… :)

Nice to finally see some acknowledgement from BG that the Storm will be a decent, if not great device. I haven’t used it to pass judgement but the specs are not your run-of-the-mill flip phone or blackberry specs for that matter so I have high hopes. I hope they do the press event so we can actually have some damn facts instead of all this speculation going about.

Might help to read all of the posts before making a claim such as this. BG thinks the Storm will be garbage and so do I. The Bold will be great but from what I’ve read in other forums, those who have actually had hands on time with the Storm think it’s junk as well. The Bold is an improvement (be it a small one) on an existing product where the Storm is RIM’s first shot at a touch screen and will be problem ridden. Why do you think we DON’T have a launch date on the Storm or the Bold here in the US? Because RIM “improved” devices are giving them hell in testing.

Blame AT&T if you want but they’ve never had problems with RIM devices before. And trust me, I’ve talked an insider in VZW’s quality control and the Storm is NOT ready for prime time folks.

Nov. 9th (Sunday) could be possible since this thing is supposed to be available online first. However, I think that Nov. 7th is more plausible.

You obviously don’t read Crackberry.com forums. Every single person who has had time with a Storm over there has had nothing but good things to say.

I love how the Blackberry Storm looks! I think it may be a little to masculine for me though…It’s a very big and sexy phone! I think I have a crush on it…kidding. Anyway, I hope the Bold comes out soon…too bad it’s not coming out tomorrow…I’m going to cry…lol. I guess I’m going to have to stick with my colorwared pink Curve 8320…=(

P.S - The guy at the Verizon store said that the Blackberry Storm browser will be made by webkit or something? He said they’re the makers of the Iphones web browser. If this is true, then I think that’s totally awesome! Blackberry + Iphone browser = perfection! Can someone here confirm this? BG is it true?

rumor has it that the Storm will have a webkit based browser. By the way, the Storm isn’t that big, it’s just about the same size as the curve, thinner but a little wider than the curve.

it’s all about personal preference. some may not like the click screen while others may like it. maybe bg doesn’t like the idea of the click screen, and maybe he just prefers the non-haptic feedback of the iPhone. It depends on what you like. The iPhone is a really nice phone but typing on that thing is extremely frustrating FOR ME, but others seem to like it.

@moni - I get the whole idea of personal preferences but how can you not like something that you havent tried? I wouldnt call the click screen “haptic” and I dont think there are any devices with a similar type keyboard..

    @Stang,

Actually, his words about the Storm on here never have had merit. He’s been bashing the Storm since I can remember, and hasn’t given one shred of evidence that he’s even used the phone, let alone, even given valid reasons why the phone is so bad. Just sounds like your average hate to me.

I totally get what your saying as well but that’s his personal opinion. But, it works both ways. How do we know if this phone is going to be great if we haven’t even tried it for ourselves either? Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for this phone as well and I can’t wait to try it out either. But I’m just trying to be objective about it.

Yeah, I know the click screen is different from being haptic, I was just trying to make a point about the iPhone not having any type of feedback when you touch it or type on it and how some people prefer it that way.

A lot of people, myself included, are really hoping that this phone will be great. Maybe it will be great for some, maybe it won’t be for others. I just need a new smartphone asap and this will probably be the best bb on verizon. And I’m not jumping ship for a phone, that’s just silly in my opinion.

Oh cool! If it’s the same size as the curve then I’m all for trading in my Curve and getting this Storm! So the storm will have this webkit thing that the people at my local Verizon store were talking about? Sweet! All the new Blackberry phones that are coming out are very sophisticated looking! The chrome lining and the piano black color…ahh…a dream…=)

Be honest. You won’t care what BG thinks when he gets the device unless he likes it. If it turns out he doesn’t, like others who’ve actually used it, you will just accuse him of being bias toward Apple and iPhone and buy it anyway. BG’s praise of anything other than Apple/AT&T seems to go unnoticed so he’s going to be flamed by the RIM/VZW fanboys anyway unless he writes a very positive review of the Storm.
