Samsung Delve hitting U.S. Cellular?

We just got our hands on this snap of what we’re told is the Samsung Delve. If your spectacles are currently on your nightstand, the branding at the top says U.S. Cellular. You could sort of consider it a cross between the Samsung Instinct and Samsung F480 we guess; there’s even an on-screen QWERTY keyboard. Some of the specs include a 2 megapixel camera, full HTML browser, YourNavigator (U.S. Cellular’s Nav software), and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. Our tipster tell us that the unit seems pretty stable and the device is completely user-friendly, even in it’s current beta state. We weren’t given pricing information, but look for the Samsung Delve to hit store shelves around mid-November! Full set of specs are listed after the break…
- 3.0″ touch screen
- On-screen QWERTY keyboard
- Second generation TouchWiz interface
- Customizable widgets
- 2 megapixel camera
- Pre-loaded Toneroom, Facebook, Myspace, and various games
- Threaded email and SMS
- HTML browser
- Navigation software
- Bluetooth including A2DP

sounds good, although 8 is not ideal…maybe the delve 2 will fix that

Anyon ehaving an issue with sending an attachment to your phone thru the text messaging? I see the size of the attachment on the text message showing something there, but theres no way to save it or even open it. Unless I’m missing something.
on the leather case that comes with the phone on one of the sides there is a small pocket for your stylus.i found that out on accident!
I love the phone I just hope that when the new one debuts it will have a belt clip on the case even though it will be awhile before I purchase it.
I am confused here about the Delve.Isit or is it not a “smart phone”? I was gifted one for Christmas and I love it, however when going on the web with it,it takes forever to get anywhere. Also is don’t play sounds on twebpages and want show all the “clickable” content.I have had it back at the store several times getting updates, but still no better. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.
No it isn’t a smartphone. It is a cool little phone with pretty good multimedia features and a built in web browser. I stepped up to the Palm Treo Pro from my Delve. I like it tons better.. and I really really liked the Delve. I noticed when shopping samsung has a smartphone (windows 6.1) just like the Delve, it is the Omina. I looked at it very seriously before going with the Treo 850, I couldn’t deal with acsending ringtone again. Had it not been for that, I likely would have gotten the Omina.
I am wondering if there is anyway I can replace the outer screen on the Delve. Not the touch screen its self but the plastic outer transparent piece. Mine is scratched to hell and I would like to get a new one and screen protectors. Plus I have a vista laptop and Im wondering how to tether my phone with it
Can anyone tell me if I can buy this phone from a friend and use it just as a phone and for texting without the added $20 per month fee, I don’t need the internet stuff right now. All I do is call and text, but I like the iphone style screen. What I’d like to do is buy the phone from my friend and stop using my razor, have us cellular activate the new phone and have no new charges? Possible??
emily jo no the delve requires the 19.95 data plan for using the phone.
Roz- are you switching to the lg tritan? curious about how you can if you have had the delve for this long. thanks for letting me know.
regardless of where you get the phone from you still have to get the $20 data package with uscc when you activate the phone.
no2yes2man2- yes i switched to the tritan. I am going to sell my delve i have uscc.
roz- i have uscc also so how do you like the tritan. I’m thinking about switching also but don’t know if the phone has everything the delve has, such as the email on easyedge and i know it has the gps, the brower looks nicer compared to the delve with having 3 tabs open at once and also the cursor arrow. Have any info on the pro’s and con’s on the phone for me by chance? Thanks.
roz- also did you buy the phone outright for the 399.99 or whatever the price is?
no2yes2man2- I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!!:)
NO CONS!!!
no2yes2man2-yes has everything the delve has but way more.you’ll love this phone.
no2yes2man2- no i renewed my contract the phone was $129.99 n you get a $50.00 rebate which will make the phone $80.
I’d like to give it a try but I don’t really see the need to fork out $400 on a phone that the delve has now but just little tweaks here and there ya know. If I could go to us cellular and do the 30 day thing that would be great but I just renewed the contract 6 months ago so obviously i can’t get out of that and test it. Oh well, I’ll have to really think about it and see if I need a phone that bad. Just wish the delve had updates say on the widgets, ringer, just little things like that.
Roz- Did you buy the delve than? Cause the Delve just came out last nov. so figured you wouldn’t be able to renew your contract.
no2yes2man2-when i bought my delve i bought it used.
roz
Are you saying that you just got the tritan? and it was only $79.99 after rebate? I see that it is $99.99 after rebate. So you like the tritan better than the Delve? I am thinking about getting the tritan today.
thanks
