Samsung Delve hitting U.S. Cellular?

We just got our hands on this snap of what we’re told is the Samsung Delve. If your spectacles are currently on your nightstand, the branding at the top says U.S. Cellular. You could sort of consider it a cross between the Samsung Instinct and Samsung F480 we guess; there’s even an on-screen QWERTY keyboard. Some of the specs include a 2 megapixel camera, full HTML browser, YourNavigator (U.S. Cellular’s Nav software), and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. Our tipster tell us that the unit seems pretty stable and the device is completely user-friendly, even in it’s current beta state. We weren’t given pricing information, but look for the Samsung Delve to hit store shelves around mid-November! Full set of specs are listed after the break…
- 3.0″ touch screen
- On-screen QWERTY keyboard
- Second generation TouchWiz interface
- Customizable widgets
- 2 megapixel camera
- Pre-loaded Toneroom, Facebook, Myspace, and various games
- Threaded email and SMS
- HTML browser
- Navigation software
- Bluetooth including A2DP

Crash20-
As far as the text messaging goes, if I do have a text in my box that says ok from someone and then like 3 days later we text and they say the same thing, it does say duplicate message but the icon goes away as soon as i check it just like a normal message.
Unlocking the phone, i’ve had the phone since Nov. 4th, and I just find the happy medium on holding the button for like 2-3 seconds and then let go, and it’s unlocked. No double clicking or anything just hold it for a couple seconds and let go and unlocks just fine.
I have had my phone turn on when i try to unlock it, so yes i have had the same problem where the phone just randomly turns off and you go to check it and it turns on. Now im not sure if it is off for a long time or not…but I think it just like shuts off and turns right back on at that point so it’s not like your missing calls (atleast I haven’t had any problems for missing calls due to it)
I have never tried to download the opera mini mobile browser. So i’m not sure if you can on the delve or not, or if you can where it would be stored to in otherwords.
Hope that kind of explains and tells you some details I’ve had, any questions just ask I’ll try to help anyway I can. Thanks.
I am going to get the Samsung Delve, and my brother thinks since it’s a full touch screen phone it will dial numbers by its self. . . Can someone please tell me if it has a lock button, so it wont dial numbers. . . Please respond
i just got mine about a week ago and i love it. all you have to do to lock the phone so you dont accidently call someone oi push a bytton on the top of the phone for a second. then when you want to make a call is push and hold it again. ive had a great time with it.
* * * Dial numbers in my pocket * * *
If I get the Samsung Delve my brother will think it will dial numbers in my pocket since it is a full touch screen phone. . . . Can some who has the Delve please tell me if it has a lock button so it wont dial numbers when i have it in my pocket. . . Please respond
there is a lock button on the phone, and on the top so it won’t unlock in your pocket and dial numbers or anything.
Yes I have this exact same problem. My Delve will freeze for about 5 seconds every 3 minutes or so. It does this on any application in my phone, but I’m not sure why. I’d take it in, but I’m sure Verizon/Alltel would just try to trade it in for a new phone, which I’d rather not do.
Im a teenage girl who wants a delve is this a good phone for me?
It’s not a great phone for texting.
how do you get aim on this phone ive been tryin for a couple days now still clueless
you cannot put on this phone, so don’t keep trying
Wow, no postings since 8/24. Let me start it up again. I’m being rather lazy, not wanting to search through all of our pages but is there a way to get a gif format to work on the Delve? Any help would be appreciated.
I love the phone, but there is 1 problem with it and do you know if Samsung is going to fix it.with a softwere update
the ring volume starts out very low, then starts to rise in volume. My volume is set to the highest setting. but by the time I hear the phone ringing, it goes to voice mail. No matter what ring tone I use. I use tone room, and have spent a lot of money trying to find a ring tone that I can here, what good in ring volume if it doesn’t work, This also does this for the alarm clock setting, I have missed my wake up times due to this volume issue. I now use my work phone which is a Razor. I really like my Delva. JUST FIX THE VOLUME PROBLEM
There is no update for this. This is how it will always be. The only solution is to set your vibration on high also and hope that you feel or hear it vibrate and then ring before it goes to voicemail. Sorry. This is about the only downfall of the phone.
Is it possible to have emails from an Exchange (MS Outlook) server forwarded to the Delve? So far this is the only concern keeping me from buying the phone.
I am a teenage girl, and I really like the Delve but is it a good phone for me?
Is there a phone lock on it?
Please tell me more information on this phone please!
Yes. The phone automatically locks itself when the backlight goes out. If someone calls, it goes off so you can answer, otherwise you have to push the button on top to unlock it to use any of the features. I think you would like this phone. Touch screen, Qwerty keyboard, hand writing recognition, regular texting options, mobile browser, mobile e-mail and my navigator (GPS). Just know that you will have to pay $19.95 a month extra for all of its internet features. The downfall, texting is not included in the $19.95. It’s extra.
I hate it. I bought mine 6 months ago and I have had nothing but problems with this phone, just like every other samsung I’ve had. I get horrible reception. They say this is a network thing, but I don’t agree. I got awesome reception with my other phones on the same network. This one drops calls regularly, or goes in and out of reception while I’m on the phone. It locks up and shuts down frequently on it’s own. Text messages often fail when sending. Now, it will not allow me to read my text messages or send them. I get an “error while opening” message when I try opening my texts. I have only had this phone a few months, and am ready to pitch it and get a new one. I do not recommend this phone.
I have had this phone since earlier this year. I have had no problems with it. It has never frozen up and the reception has been fine. Text messages have never been a problem but I’ve only used the navigator texting program. I am, however, going to switch back to a non-internet phone as I am not finding that I am taking full advantage of it’s capabilities and don’t want to keep paying $19.95 a month for that is required. I have grown tired of it’s only being a touch screen also. I have enjoyed it while I’ve had it and will keep it as a back-up phone.
I hate my samsung delve! Its driving me crazy. This is the 3rd one already and it hasnt even been a month since I got it. Everytime I take it back to alltel they keep giving me a new one, and what happens?… the same thing! Im tired of it.. I dont recommend the samsung delve to anyone. Its a waste of money.
it’s actually a perfect phone for a girl as long as you have tiny hands, texting is a breeze. In general though Delve is almost above average type of phone
What was the problem with the phones?
I hate my Delve. I cant turn on java script and my cookies are disabled. Im paying too high of a monthly payment for this service!!!
sorry all that i have not posted for awhile, if anybody has any problems or questions, i’ll be sure to try to answer them best i can
