Samsung Delve hitting U.S. Cellular?

We just got our hands on this snap of what we’re told is the Samsung Delve. If your spectacles are currently on your nightstand, the branding at the top says U.S. Cellular. You could sort of consider it a cross between the Samsung Instinct and Samsung F480 we guess; there’s even an on-screen QWERTY keyboard. Some of the specs include a 2 megapixel camera, full HTML browser, YourNavigator (U.S. Cellular’s Nav software), and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. Our tipster tell us that the unit seems pretty stable and the device is completely user-friendly, even in it’s current beta state. We weren’t given pricing information, but look for the Samsung Delve to hit store shelves around mid-November! Full set of specs are listed after the break…
- 3.0″ touch screen
- On-screen QWERTY keyboard
- Second generation TouchWiz interface
- Customizable widgets
- 2 megapixel camera
- Pre-loaded Toneroom, Facebook, Myspace, and various games
- Threaded email and SMS
- HTML browser
- Navigation software
- Bluetooth including A2DP

I can confirm this is true. I work of uscc and we are pretty excited for this to come out.

I can also confirm this is true. A device with the same name and specifications is listed in our system as “currently in testing” and I believe they are shooting for a November (4th?) release date.
However, this would be the first picture I’ve seen of the device so far.

All im confused about is the keyboard . What is a QWERTY kyboard ? is it a keyboard like the iPhone ? or a keyboard like phones such as the enV, or Voyager .. Please and thank you

Thank you for this great news! I’ve waited a long time for a phone with a touch screen and qwerty cappibilities. I am very excited for the arrival of this phone. Can you please confirm the date of arrival and price?
Thank You

In response to Lola,
A “qwerty” keyboard is simply any keyboard that is set up like a standard computer keyboard (i.e. with the first six letters being q-w-e-r-t-y) it has nothing to do with whether or not it is a physical or virtual/touchscreen keyboard (the Delve will have the latter).
To BG,
I already know a decent amount about this phone seeing as I’m a USCC Agent (and because of your site :). I even know about expected release date and pricing but I have a feeling someone at USCC would be pissed off if I said anything. One thing that is driving me CRAZY, though, is that I can’t find out ANYWHERE whether or not the Delve will support both JAVA apps. and BREW apps. like the Instinct does. You think you could put your ninjas on it? You know, USCC never responded when I asked them this question through an agent channel, so maybe I wouldn’t feel bad about talking if my question was answered.

The delve will be US Cellular’s first Hybrid phone. This phone will carry easyedge as well as a html browser. What this means? Well it will support the brew apps as well as give the regular web capabilities. I have played with this handset and it is impressive, especially for US Cellular. I will not confirm release dates as they are subject to change.

I am wondering if this is the alleged iphone killer?? Plus I also wonder if it will be flash enabled, unlike its apple counterpart?

Will this phone require the extra costs such as the black berry? (I believe you have to pay $25.99 a month for the service)

Can you tell me if this is a smart phone like all others which us cellular restricts that you have to have internet access for 24.99/month on your plan like other smart phones and blackberries.

Not a smartphone. Unlimited data w/full html browser will be $19.95/month

I confirm this message is very true also… I went to my local us cellular store just earlier today looking into buying a new phone and of course i asked if they had any to be coming out and yes this one was there it wasnt in real form yet but was sent to them in display form so they could put it up and be prepared for the new phone. The retailer told my that it would be out in November towards the first of the month!!!!! And a really good thing about this phone is that the required windows fee isnt as high each month as the HTC phones or the Blackberrys… (the HTC’s and Blackberrys are like 25.95 extra a month and this one is like 20.00 I believe)!!!
P.S. the phone is gorgeous I got to hold the display one :]
Oh yeah and the only thing I noticed that was a negative about this phone was the screen, when you touch it of course you can see your finger prints…. but a cover can solve that problem :]

I just got back from a us cellular store and they told me the phone is due to hit the shelves Oct. 28 (here in WI). The cost $150 for a 2-year agreement + you get a $50 visa card, so basically $100 cost. They said the additional monthly fee for the internet will be $20 (which included easy edge). I too got to hold the phone and it seems well built and looks pretty cool.
