Motorola’s Armani Phone: The designers just won’t quit!

Did you vomit in your mouth just a little? Yeah, so did we. One would think that Emporio Armani would have learned its lesson from the lambasting it took for its Samsung Night Effect, but they’re admirably persistent. We wonder what kind of deal was struck up between Motorola (who probably snubbed Dolce & Gabana by warming up to another designer) and Emporio Armani… “We’re designers, but we really don’t want to design a new phone. We failed, so can you just slap our logo onto one of your boring, overpriced phones and just make it that much more expensive? Thanks.”

No news on when this might be available or where it will be released, but hey, if you have to ask…

Wow. At least make an effort.

I actually liked the Dolce & Gabbana RAZRs. Too bad there aren’t any D&G RAZR2s, although obviously I couldn’t afford them anyway. One would have thought that the Luxury Edition would have been branded…

Yeah, you’d think they would make an effort. This just cries, “We’re hurting!” Both Motorola and Emporio Armani. Though it’s still tacky to have the brand name so blatantly plastered on the phone, this one is oh-so-slightly less offensive than the Night Effect. That was a little ghastly.

Guys, it’s fake made by russian news site. It’s not real, although it’s not photoshop but a real Moto phone which has glass from Samsung.

Sorry guys, turns out this was a fake.

Turns out that the russian news site manufactured these news.

They took the screen glass from Samsung Armani Night Effect and put it on the Moto ZN5 model.

What is it about high priced “luxury” phones and ugliness?

They are boxy, ugly, simplified, ugly, and just don’t appear to be as sleek as blackberrys, iphones, and winmo devices. Most of those appear sleek, cook, futuristic, and worth having.

    These, well - they’re just - what’s the word?

    UGLY

Guess I should read the comments all the way through huh? LOL

But I have seen other “luxury” phones you and other sites have posted…. and they all just seem to be boxy and ugly.

So, I guess this didn’t throw me much when I saw them.

Thanks, guys, for clarifying that it’s a fake. We suspected it as well, but it was fun to poke at the whole designer phone fad. :)

I actually liked the ZN5. When I was interning at Motorola this summer, that was my phone I was using for personal use. I was even using the early software and it worked pretty great. The only problem was that the phone would freeze if you tried sending the picture via email, so I’d just send it via MMS and punch in the email and it’d work great.

Well even though this is a fake it still doesn’t change the fact that Moto really DOES keep recycling phones like this and I most certainly wouldn’t put it past them (moto) to do something like this, seriously if moto doesn’t get their act together they will go belly up that or be forced to sell the company (which is most likely what would happen).

It looks like a candy bar style z9 (the Razr2, but in slider form) and it’s a matte black, not glossy.

Honestly, i’d still own it. Just to toss my SIM card into it, put it in the back of my gixxer, fishing jacket, golf pants, etc…so if it gets ruined by water, rain, me accidently tee’n up the cellphone instead of the ball, lmao, then i’m not too upset.
