A Whole Lotta Samsungs coming to AT&T
There are a slew of new Samsung devices coming to AT&T pretty soon, most of which have already been rumored here, but now some of the phones have been semi-confirmed. First off is the long-rumored Blackjack III or i907 which is for release on October 21. It seems that the Blackjack III will be very similar to the i780. We’ll find out exactly what it is like in just a few weeks. Next up is the Samsung A767 “Sangria.” Wow, really? What a name, and paired with Mirage it seems Samsung would soon launch an ad campaign with people texting each other in Ibiza, Spain. The Sangria is supposedly much like the i620 and i640 minus Windows Mobile. So, if you’re a fan of slider phones with full QWERTY keyboards, keep your eyes peeled for this one. Lastly, there is the A867, or the Mirage. Based on the sketch above, it’s pretty clear that it will be much like the Omnia. And, if it is anything like we guessed, it will be a touchscreen device with a 5MP camera, 8 or 16GB of internal storage, and HSPA/UMTS. Samsung fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks for AT&T!

I’m just made they shafted Verizon costumers with the stupid glyde when they have all these cool phones
Any info on the Verizon-branded Omnia (i910)??
The A867 is not being called the Mirage. The i907 was code named the Mirage. The camera is only 3MP and no 8GB or 16GB storage. There will be a microSD slot and MediaFlo.
Also, the i907 is not being called the Blackjack III, there will be new device coming next year with that title. Thanks!
@Jack, right now some other sites have those numbers and code names, but we’re feeling pretty strong about the info we’ve given.
Thanks for chiming in! Much appreciated.
Samsung omnia will not have 5 megapixel….
AT&T will downgrade the camera. It certainly will not have 16GB MEMORY storage.
@ Marc, No worries. Just wanted you guys to have the correct data for a field tester.
O.K. I’m confused;

So, will the Samsung (Mirage or Omneia or whatever) have the 5 megapixel camera or not? Will it have the option to purchase the 8 or 16 gigs or is it microSD slot only?
Thanks, and any help for this slow Texan is much appreciated!
i907 is being called the MIRAGE
Its not the Blackjack 3 its called the Blackjack mirage and has a touch screen and touchpad mouse….
Im on ATT looking for a smart phone upgrade. I was thinking BB Bold. Should I wait a few more weeks and see what the i907 can deliver?
I’m a little confused. The snapshot of the Phone releases from a couple weeks back (http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/09/18/att-launch-updates-htc-fuze-samsung-mirage-bold-moved-to-november/) shows that there will be a phone called the i907 “Mirage”. How is this the BJ III? And how is it that the Mirage is not going to be a Windows Mobile device (”i”907)? Or, are they going to call the new BJ a mirage? Honestly, I was going to be very suprised if Apple was going to allow a full screen, non-keyboarded, smart touch screen device. Was that document official?
If Samsung really wanted to Make AT&T fans happy, they’d release a US version of the Omnia.
BAber … the i907 is a Windows Mobile device. Think BJ form factor with a touch screen.
ic… I realized the question was answered after I posted. The article was a little confusing (and perhaps still is). I was hoping AT&T would pick up a Windows-based Iphone-like device (ala Touch Diamond, or Omnia with Windows), but I’m sure Apple would love that. I like the Touch Pro, but even subsidised will probably be $500+. Not sure if I should be excited about the Mirage, and still considering the e71 (or e72).
There is no Verizon Samsung Omnia, it’s a GSM phone at this point.
Considering that these devices change their names more often than a bachelor on vacation in Vegas, I’ve become a little confused. Exactly what is the “Official” Product Number, Device Name, and Release Date of the Samsung Omnia US clone. First it was the Omnia, then it was the Samsung i907, then it was the AT&T Mirage, now it’s a completely different phone called the Epix.
Some advice to the people responsible for naming these devices: CHANGE YOUR BONGWATER!
So there doesn’t seem to be too much hype about the Sangria (A767) is that just because it doesn’t have windows or are people not expecting too much from this phone?
The Sangria is also known as the Propel and is a texting device which will be in the same category as the Pantech Matrix and the UT Starcom Knick (similar to the sidekick). There hasn’t been any prices or pictures of the last 2. I tested the Matrix last night and it’s very cool for tweens who need a cheap phone with a qwerty.
