Blackberry Bold release date at Best Buy
One of the biggest questions on everyone’s mind (well, almost everyone) is: when the hell is the Bold coming to the U.S.? Well, we got our hands on this image showing a release date of October 26, 2008 in Best Buy’s system. That means it will likely be out a week or two before it hits this authorized AT&T retailer (early October, anyone?) So, for everyone who’s been harassing AT&T reps and customer service, you can relax a little knowing it’s going to be coming out much sooner than later. Perhaps it will follow the HTC Touch Diamond when they released it a week earlier than it was scheduled. Only time will tell, but we’re feeling the force is strong with this one. We were told to expect pricing “around $600.” Hit the break for a larger shot!
Thanks, A.D.

it says “status:de;eted”
whats that mean?
nevermind, delte that, i read previous posts
Actually, I bought the official BOLD 9000 jelly skin at Best Buy. The packaging just says Bold 9000 model. It’s not the curve skin that was posted with the link in that comment. So the Bold is almost coming…at least for Best Buy anyway…
I know rumors for this phone release is running amok…But, I’ll just put it out there anyway since I’m a BIG Blackberry fan…an AT&T rep told me today that the stores can start ordering the BOLDS on October 2nd and that the OFFICIAL release date for AT&T is October 16th!!! WooHoo!!!
Holy S_IT, release the damn phone already! HA
I swear to god. If that thing isn’t in my hands on oct 2, I’m bolting AT & T. Bolting!! I left verizon for AT & T to get the curve. Now, if the bold doesn’t release on oct 2, NOT MID OCTOBER, I’m leaving AT & T to get the verizon storm. That’s it. This wasn’t RIM’s fault. It was AT & T being in bed with apple. So, if I don’t have it on the 2nd, I’m gone. I’ll have the 8220 Flip for my work, and the Storm for my personal use.
Stupid AT & T didn’t even try to snow us with excuses. They just kept quiet as to why no bold. Because of hubris, the fuckers. It would be so great if iPhone went to verizon as rumored. AT & T sucks. The only thing they had going for them was the latest, greatest phones. But if verizon gets iPhone in addition to storm, it’s game over for crappy AT & T. And their tech people don’t know shit.
And where thw hell is galvatron?
LOL—-you guys crack me up—there is so much inflammatory bs and insult between carriers on these BLOG comments it is hilarious! KEEP IT UP!
TROLL!!!
I would get an iPhone but I want something that works
Everyone here bitches about AT&T…So why haven’t you switched carriers yet?
Here is the news I have from the President’s office at AT&T. That’s right – the President’s office @ AT&T has a special customer service team for larger customers that are having issues. I called them regarding service in NC/SC getting worse (bad agreements with Suncom – bought by T-Mobile = bad service – an issue for another post.) Anyway, I asked about the Bold for AT&T and was told today @ 9:45 am that the UNofficial release date for the Bold is 10/29/08.
I asked about an issue we have heard about regarding the AT&T 3G Network – 1 iPhone takes as much bandwidth as 20 Blackberry’s, and the AT&T infrastructure wasn’t ready for the influx of iPhone users. I have also read reports that AT&T will need to invest $1Billion in their network to catch up, not to mention fixing agreements with Suncom/T-Mobile for towers. This was not officially confirmed by the President’s office – but it wasn’t denied either. Just a “I have heard similar information.” -someone was afraid that their supervisor may have been listening in.
So that is the scoop – AT&T’s infrastructure wasn’t ready to handle the resource hog iPhone and that has been the biggest delay for the Bold. No need to have 2 new 3G phones getting a bad wrap because of the carrier. I am sure RIM didn’t want this to happen either.
Just another tribute to the work RIM has put into their system to manage business users and how far Apple needs to come.
The iPhone release date was highly communicated and with the Bold it is some kind of national secret. To me this amounts to poor customer service. –Lack of communication to its customers.
I’ve been very anxious to purchase a Blackberry phone, and like most I don’t want to go to the store today if an updated phone is about to come out. However, all this secrecy and waiting. Not to mention the outrageous pricing. Grant it, not sure how accurate the pricing info is.
I think many Blackberry users are business people. Most business people know good business from bad business. This is bad business. I predict that if Verizon offers a better Blackberry device for less money many customers will jump.
im really jsut getting frustrated.
this is a joke. the bold will be my first phone, ive been waiting since i heard about it. ironically, i was pissed ebcause i would have to wait till i get my first paycheck to get my phone. now its mothngs later, i have 2 grand saved, and still no phone
if i hadnt waited this long, i would say eff it and get a different phone. but COME ONNNNN. this is rediculoussssss
According to BlackBerryNews, TMobile will not be carrying the Bold.

did you guys notice that to the left of the stock date is the street date, which is left blank….. meaning that the stock date is when they will recieve shipment, and the street date is yet to be known
Its 10/2… Well!!!
As a 4-year ex-best buy employee, i can tell you from the RSS screenshot here, that if an item is in “deleted” status, it will NOT be returning to inventory. Best buy will just add a new SKU number when an “official” release date is “released” to best buy. Until then, this screen shot means NOTHING.
Cheers.
I work at best buy, the deleted status just means that that store does not currently carry the item. it will switch to active when the in stock date approaches.
as a CURRENT bestbuy employee i dont mean to hurt anyone’s feelings but yeah this screenshot is pretty useless… all it really means is that bestbuy will sell the blackberry bold and we already knew that information a long time ago… since the item is “deleted” and it shows no inventory number, it means nothing. this is basically the information given to us way back before the release dates have been pushed back…sorry guys… but as an employee word on the street is end of october/beginning november..
Will the blackberry be unlockable and available to use on the T-Mobile network?
Forgive me if I’m wrong, but if I’m looking at that screen shot correctly the STREET date is not listed. The in stock date is showing 10-26. Doesn’t this mean that we still don’t know when it will be on the shelves??
never mind, i just read the rest of the comments
I work for t-mobile pda tech support and I have set up internet service on a few bolds already. But from what I have heard in the past att won’t unlock their devices. You may have get unlock info online or get the device from Canada.
I just left AT&T corporate and we got an email stating that the bold will not be released till the first of November.
I work for AT&T business care. We just got news that the blackberry data plan now includes Cellular Video, a feature that is exclusive to 3G devivces only. They are up to something here!
