AT&T’s Pantech Matrix gets viewed and spec’d

Hated the Pantech Duo but loved the form-factor? Well, AT&Tizzle is looking to grab you as a potential customer with the Pantech Matrix. It uses the same dual-slide mechanism as the Duo, but sadly runs Pantech’s run-of-the-mill OS. There are at least some decent features here. Things like dual-band UMTS/HSDPA, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Video Share, a QWERTY keyboard and numeric keypad. You even get to choose your own color; red, blue, or black. That seals the deal for us. We’ll be first in line. If you’re ferocious enough, hit the jump for the full product sheet!

i lov ma phone pantech matrix it go supa hard it has great enternet, plays music, good for texting it basically does it all
I definitely agree with jeremy and its not just because i work with him
. the phone is 150 with a 50 dollar rebate and after playing around with it the features are nice, the form factor is definitely convenient and the os really isnt THAT shitty lol. ive sold 3 of them today alone and it seems that everyone that has heard about it wants to get their hands on one. if i didnt carry an iphone and a blackjack 2 and didnt want to pay for data this would be the phone i would carry.
I got the Matrix the first day it was available just by chance, didn’t know anything about it. I am however disappointed just because AT&T has not added the phone to their system so you can’t purchase ring tones yet. I was very disappointed cause I hate the ring tones on the phone…but I have no other complaints, the phone is freakin awesome!!! So come on and put it in the system so I can get some awesome ring tones!!
Hey well i can’t wait for the phone!!! i went to the at&t store today and they didn’t have it for sale???? how do i get the phone????
Did you ask them if they had it? I somewhat asked for it, I told them I wanted a phone with a key board but I didnt want one that required a PDA package and they told me they just got one in. So if you didnt ask for it you might want to go back. I know they don’t have it on display yet.
Oh I did and i got the phone it is great it is a little bigger than the duo but amazing!!!! I am a huge texter and i love it
glad you got it Kayla! I am a big texter too…and I love it also. Just want some cool ring tones!!!
im just wondering, should i get this phone….what color?
I got it today too…. love it! Go to http://www.phonezoo.com and download free ringtones. I have already done it and it works great. They don’t have the matrix as an option but put in the brand and check the box that says not shown. They will text you your choice and you just have to highlight the URL, check options and the first option is launch. click it. I don’t have internet on my phone but the clerk said it isn’t too much (20 cents) on a per use basis. They have tons of options at phonezoo – I love the Jetsons theme song and Monday Night Football for when my husband calls!
Thanks Kathy
When will this phone be available on Att.com?
i rly want to get this phone and im eligible for upgrade but when i went into my local att store in queens new york the salesman looked at me like i had 2 heads and said he had never heard of that phone can some1 tel me whyy if other people have it alreadyyy
Can you use google maps on this? Or does ATT lock down the GPS feature?
Just bought the Matrix tonight for my daughter. ATT mentioned that she can’t use her MP3 cuts that she had on her Razr for her ringtone. Is there a way around this?
Thanks,
Paul
does anyone kno what acessories comes with the phone
I think this phone would be great for anyone under the age of 18. I’m 14 going on 15, and I’m VERY interested in this phone. I’ve been waiting for a long time for at&t to get a texting phone, that is NOT a PDA, and they finally did it. It’s at a decent price, aswell.
It’s nothing fancy, and seems perfect for teens who text nonstop, just like me.
Hopefully it’ll be up to my expectations.
:]
I just got the phone today. I am not a teenager, but had no need for a personal PDA as I do not travel with my job. The phone seems to work fast and is easy to use. It is now on the display at my local store in North Carolina. The picture quality is so-so, but sending the photos is quick with the 3g network. I do need to go to the store tomorrow because I have managed to lock myself out resetting the pin (yes, I was following the directions step by step). Not sure what happened. Overall happy with the product, feels sturdy and the speaker is crystal clear.
I got this phone before I read the review. I think it’s great. I never used to like texting before, but now that I have the qwerty keyboard it’s pretty nice. I like how the number pad is hidden so you dont hit buttons and that the whole phone is automatically locked when closed.
Over all it’s easy to use, learned how to in less then an hour and I have already added one song via the bluetooth (got it yesterday).
So I got this phone the other day and I have to say I thought it was too big at first but I’m over that. The physical design is sound but here’s the thing. You can’t change the sound it makes when you get a text message. That alone is retarded. With how much function I had in my free little sony ericson this was a sad thing to realize. So now I have my more spendy phone that I can’t fully customize. Crappy.
I’m sad cause I like the design but that software may be a deal breaker. I have a couple weeks yet to decide but I think this one is going back to the store.
I just bought this phone yesterday, and so far I like it except for the fact that you can’t indivualize ring tones for people…
im gettin that phone it look preety neat but yea i dont like thick phones
What is the best color to chose?? I have been tring to decide this for weeks i am a girl that is between the color of blue and black and green?? Which one looks more girlish??? I AM SO CONFUSED PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Ok for all you people who seem to have all the info could I ask for some help. I (being phone stupid) got the duo for my daughter who had to have it… well that didn’t work out so I got stuck with it… I absolutly hate the thing but I can’t return it cause it was done in August any advise on trying to get them to exchange it for the matrix? Thanks in advance for any info
i like this phone=] it’s nice.
i think that i’m
getting it for
christmas…
but i might
not so yea
would any
one
reccomend
this phone for
a 12 year-old??
I’ve had this phone for about a week and am pretty happy. While I do think it would be good for many ages, I am 23 and it does everything I need. Also, it is really great for how much I text to keep in contact with people. Oh and I love how fast it is, much less waiting around.
