I’ve had 3 Blackberry’s before my iPhone and the iPhone SUCKS!! You have to be a 14 year old kid who likes to play games to like this phone. Who cares about the browser? Don’t we all have the internet at home? They had this so-called upgrade and now I can type in landscape and leave a voice memo… YAY! By the way I was being extremely sarcastic! The iPhone has a LONG way to go before they get me to get another one. Blackberry needs a Storm for AT&T asap!

the iphone sucks balls i had it for about 2 weeks and decided to go with the “TRUE” nation wides best coverage service …. you know who!
“VERIZON”… they had the bb storm and i got it i like it better than the iphone… iphone sucks ass compared to bb storm .. but anyways the cons of the iphone and the advantages of the bb storm are : bb storm has a removable battery , iphone doesnt , and i know apple’s lithuim batterys go out after so long and that is a pain in the A S S, bb storm has removable memory , iphone doesnt “wow apple did you have to be so crude” , bb storm has a way better email set up than the iphone , bb storm is built better than the iphone it looks like the iphone will take one drop then its done…. bb storm has a way better camera with flash and it is 3.2 megapixel and records ,iphone only has 2.0 thats gay just like every other phone out there and cannot record vids lol! o and the bb has a flash! iphone is basic and gets boring after 2 weeks than is garbage and also people would rather have bb than apple anyday!!!! so don’t talk your stupid trash at&t “lowering the bars in more places” is there new moto!

I have the iPhone all my friends say it’s bad a$$ n it is!!
But it has it’s down falls as do all phones.
But I truly wish I had more cam/video features, n text forwarding n Multi media!!
Then this iPhone would be top dog!
As for 3G it’s pretty dam good for me.
So any word on updates for them features?

Moronic! HSDPA speeds are pathetic compared to Wi-Fi! Streaming video like YouTube for example, is vivid and 2x better looking on a iPhone than you will ever find on a PC (or Mac!) solely when used on Wi-Fi. Now while it’s true that 3G is “approaching” Wi-Fi speeds, they aren’t quite there. AT&T does become toe-suckers when it comes to their 3G emphasis but they certainly aren’t only in 50 city’s! (more like “350+ metropolitan city’s by the end of the 2008.” now that said I get superior coverage on my iPhone with 3G speeds (always nearly 5 bars) but Sprint is about to hit a 4G. ANYWAYS! The iphone and storm are In 2 totally different categories when it comes to nearly every aspect of the devices. Sure the camera on the storm is exellent but I’ve heard rumors that the pictures come out choppy and jittery if not taken in exactly the right light. But that holds true with the iPhone as well. Email on both devices is great but BB’s are email machines and the aspect that Rich HTML email support for the storm is unavailable is pathetic on RIM’s end and speaks to Apple’s outsight. But BB enterprise Email is UNRIVALED! Regardless if you are In denial or not it’s true and you all know it. As far as UI iPhone takes the badge. Until maybelater software updates for the storm that’s the truth. KEYBOARDS! -The whole screen button thing is. Good idea in my opinion but the keyboard should have been though over. It’s horrible! Whereas phones like the samsung instinct and behold are unrivaled with there vibrational feedback. They are typing monsters, and, in my opinion, are preferred over physical keyboards like the pathetic G1. Internet is unrivaled on the iPhone and only beaten by one device, which in my opinion is the best out there but too expensive — the Nokia N97. That phone truly is revolutionary! If only cell phone producers would quit focusing on the iPhone as their competion, we would find more useful devices out there!

Well, I’ve had both the iphone and now the Storm. I can say the storm is terrible and isn’t ready for release. I was promised a firmware update on dec 1, 2008 and nothing so far. There are leaked versions but I don’t trust downloading a patch from someone I don’t know.

As of today, I’m now back with ATT and and Iphone 3G owner. This phone is much better. for those say it’s not a business phone, well, the iphone is with it’s exchange active sync. this phone rocks.

The Blackberry Storm will still be a great device as you will need iTune to be installed before you can transfer any media files between iPhone 3G and your PC. If iPhone 3G has a built-in micro-SD card reader, it will beat Blackberry Storm for sure for the business users.

I have seen and gotten to use a Storm, since I am an ATT customer and my friend works for Verizon.

The best thing about the Storm is that it’s a Blackberry, and the fact that it has the ability to do UPDATES on it’s system. SO… if there is some sort of system bug that comes out, Blackberry can give an update to you, similar to the “Windows” Service Packs. I have a Curve, and my mother owns an iPhone 3G, and compared to the Storm, I feel the Storm is worth the money. It works as well as my Curve (which is pheonomonal) with a nice touch screen that is pressure sensitive to prevent mistakes.

So, for me, the Storm is the way to go. I don’t play games, I don’t download movies or music, and I like the sturdiness of the Blackberry product.

I have received my Storm yesterday and I must say it is very cool. While the Iphone may be a better ‘device’ — the Storm is a better phone. Remember you use these devices to call and email people. Who cares about listening to music on your phone? Drains the battery. And who surfs real web pages other then to find info for address or phone #? Wifi off of the storm sucks. But you cannot Cut Copy or paste on a Iphone – which is really stupid.

A cell phone PDA is only good if the cell phone works.

This biggest problem with the iPhone is its contract with AT&T. We have done a side by side test of AT&T and Verizon and Verizon’s service is extordinarily better.

The Storm has QWERTY, Suretype, and Multitap.

Just demoed a BB Storm, I have to say it’s a big disappointment. It’s not even close to being as refined as the iPhone.

All in all it feels like a prototype. Its slow, unresponsive at times, and too much a copy of all the iphone features.

Nothing innovative here. Just a product that was rushed to market to keep RIM in the game.

I went to my local Verizon dealer last night with my Bold in hand…afraid I’d like the Storm better and then have some buyers’ remorse. I’m a heavy business users, but I like any of my business stuff to have crossover applications…ie, a little fun.

The tactile feel of the Storm is quite interesting, but I suspect it is a technology that will continue to see some improvement in subsequent models. I had a hard time getting it to type accurately-at least as accurately as the Bold, which is more of a traditional Blackberry keyboard.

One real bummer of the Bold is that, as a Mac user, I’m locked out of synchronization until the programmers at RIM figure out how to overcome some upgrades to the new hardware on the newer MacBook Pro models. I’m very unhappy about that, but even without synching, thus without my Itunes content loaded, I’m still glad I went with the Bold instead of the Storm.

The differences in appearance between the Storm and Bold are negligible. The quick touch response of the keyboard on the Bold is better than that of the Storm, which, although less error prone than the Iphone, is still not as good as the Bold. I used an Iphone for a month or so then gave it up in disgust. IMO, these keyboards are great for people who are more casual users, or just want the ‘cool’ factor over the business task functionality.

In terms of the Iphone, I still can’t understand why Apple thinks this thing is serious about business if it doesn’t even bother having a decent email client (again, the cut & paste issue is a deal breaker).

The Storm is cool, fun, lighter, looks interesting, probably a good phone, but the Bold is absolutely much better for real business users.

I was a bit hesitant last night approaching the Storm launch. I kept telling people “Blackberry users want a physical keyboard” I’m happy to say this Storm will only help me make more money.. I work at the top AT&T store in Minnesota and I was busy all day setting up Bolds and Iphone 3g’s all day. The corporate Verizon store 50 yards down the street only recieved 20 models..? WTF man.. and the stories about only selling the device to New Activations? What a sure fire bullshit way to piss existing customers off… I swung by the VZW store on my way into work today to see this device.. The VZW rep asked me if i was ready for my NE2 and I said “no” knowing that meant existing customer, therefore I was a potential new line.. He said that they had 2 left in stock.. The business guy next to me came rushing in and was told they were sold out. He was an existing customer. Damn, I understand the sales perspective, but damn. It only took me no more than 5 minutes to realize this phone is a terrible joke. The software is waaay laggy. You can’t just push a button.. The icon you press must also be “highlighted” first.. Very slow texting , emailing… No Wifi.. And to the person who said who needs wifi when the VZW network is sooo solid..You are f’n retarded.. I’ll take hi speed wifi over any cellular coverage anyday.. AT&T’s 3g isn’t perfect and not as good, I understand that.. but damn you gotta love the product line up for Xmas ‘08. Gotta love the Apple.. IT JUST WORKS… Apple+AT&T exclusivity untill 2012 peoples.. switch now.. The Bold is solidly built>> P.S. Thanks RIM/AT&T they gave the top 5 performing reps in each corporate store FREE Bold’s.

Lol. No multi touch? The touch interface is actually much more intuitive and user friendly on the storm. How about actually trying one out before sucking off Apple and eating up all the propaganda they shit out when new competition presents itself. Email is excellent on the storm and the browser is very easy to use. Not to say that either of those are bad on the iphone. The iphone is a toy. Really it is a shame that the storm doesn’t have an app store to buy silly useless applications to take up your memory. Seriously next time before you go posting a ridiculous blog based completely on speculation and the opinions of the competing company, try actually using the products and base your opinion off that. Relaying Apple’s selfish conceited marketing garbage isn’t helping anyone.

It seems that none of you posting here are a corporate email administrator. All you tout is all the whiz bang features that you want to use and how great finding the cheapest gas in your neighborhood is. All that doesn’t mean crap in the corporate environment (however my BB 8310 does have google maps and can pinpoint my location via GPS). I am a blackberry enterprise server administrator and manage the devices for our corporation. What many of you posters have never experienced is using a Blackberry with the Blackberry Enterprise Server. Many of you out there using a Blackberry only know it using the Blackberry Internet Service which is only provides a POP3 or IMAP interface. Most of you using these iPhones as your toy have no clue about or desire to provide a supportable, reliable and SECURE email environment. POP3 or IMAP is NOT secure and that is all you get with iPhone short of an HTML interface which is definately not secure. When you are supporting a group of people who depend on a portable device, you can’t go for the latest and greatest whiz bang toy. I don’t feel there is much of an advantage to having a Blackberry if you are only using the Blackberry Internet Service or in other words, you are a personal user. Go out and get an iPhone or Treo then. The only thing which synchronizes with POP3 or IMAP is email. You don’t get contacts, calendar appts, to do lists or personal journal wirelessly UNLESS you want to plug it into your computer but that defeats the whole purpose of having a personal wireless device. With the Blackberry Enterprise Server you NEVER have to plug your device into your computer to sync and you get email, contacts, to dos, calendaring and complete synchronization in every way PLUS extremely secure email transmission.

What happens if you break or lose your iPHONE? Can you recover all of your contacts, appts, memos, to do list??? NO…at least not without having had it plugged into your computer and first done a backup then do a restore. Or possibly you’ve downloaded some application from the app store that provides backup. The key is you have to initiate something to make this happen. Most don’t.

If one of my Blackberry Enterprise Server devices is lost, stolen or broken, I can have the user, whereever they are, go to any phone store and get a new device. Within 5 minutes I will have this new device exactly like the other device and this is all done wirelessly with no loss of information. And in the event it was stolen, I can wirelessly deactivate it without calling any service provider thus making is useless to the theif and protecting your very valuable content.

So you should think twice about the purpose of the device you are buying. If you are a business of any size, get the Blackberry Enterprise Server and get everyone a Blackberry be it the 8310, Storm or Bold. Business continuity is important especially while traveling. So is security.

On the other hand, if you just want a toy to play games on, make a few phone calls, IM your friends and do a little surfing and you don’t care about wireless synchronization, calendaring, to do list, security or reliablility, (and I’ve also seen it in person where the whole IPhone had to be reloaded from scratch losing all data) then get the iphone. No one can deny that it isn’t a great device but it isn’t corporate ready and truly doesn’t integrate any better with corporate email systems than the outlook client on your laptop. I’m not even going to go there because I’m sure many of you do that but really, there is a better way.

I can’t wait until the Storm is available on AT&T. It will be eventually. It’s impossible to say one device is better than the other because they are each geared for a different segments with different purposes which are starting to curve toward the same target but some will never have a business need and therefore will never need the same thing.
